Outstanding Hungarian movie
3 February 2012
I remember first seeing the trailer of this movie. It was a month after the theatrical release but by that time there were no more screenings. I wish I could have seen it in a movie theater, because this movie really deserves my money.

I really appreciated the creative use of the classic Richard Scarry dictionary in the communication of the Chinese and the Hungarian actors. Also metal fans will appreciate the extreme metal related easter egg in one scene. The situations are clear, even in the unsubtitled Chinese parts. I simply love this movie.

The experienced actors are great as they should be and the amateur actors also do an outstanding job. I recommend it highly.

Uneven
6 March 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I love this show. My only problem with it is the uneven pairings of episodes. Like with this one where Quarterback Quack is way below average while To Love a Duck is a masterpiece. One is crap, the other one is pure gold.

Quarterback Quack is as simple as it gets. It's not funny, rarely has any jokes and even those are pretty lame. The same story was told million times before so all throughout you know what is gonna happen. 4 out of 10

To Love a Duck is on the other hand fantastic. It has clever jokes, great character moments. Every second when The Cadet is on the screen is great, Dodgers's jokes are frenetic. The best part in the episode (and maybe in the whole season) is the desert sequence. Every line in that scene is comedy gold. 10 out of 10

Dexter: Shrink Wrap (2006)

And the Academy Award for Best Killing goes to...
1 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Dexter is the best drama series in 2006, million thanks to Showtime for it. This episode reveals the identity of the mysterious Ice Truck Killer, which wasn't really a big surprise. In fact it was quite obvious, there were clear signs of it in the previous episodes. Apart from the big unveiling, the episode is about Dexter's feelings towards Rita, and about Debrah's new relationship with her new boyfriend. I liked the high number of sex scenes. All of them was beautifully photographed, a big high-five for the crew of Dexter. These sex scenes got the second place in my all-time favourite sex scenes after Carnivále's famous scene between Sofie and Ben in the middle of the second season.

Stunningly sad
7 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. This episode needs time. While I watched it I thought I would give an 8, after finishing it I though it's a 9. Now more than two hours has passed and I think it worth a 10. It's not really funny, although there are some very good comical scenes. Like the episode 'The Luck of the Fryrish' it has a deeper message. This episode is about friendship. This episode is about the relationship between Fry and his dog Seymour. I reckon that the ones who can really appreciate this episode are the ones who has/had a dog. The last two minutes is the saddest I've seen in a cartoon since the death scene in Lion King. Futurama is a comedy show, but sometimes a serious episode makes it more interesting.

Hostel Dissected (2006 Video)

Worth watching even if you didn't like Hostel
3 December 2006
Pretty interesting documentary about the making of 'Hostel'. Mostly concentrating on Eli Roth from the casting to the last day of the shooting it gives a nice view of the atmosphere of the shooting. I laughed a lot on 'Hostel' and I also laughed a lot on the documentary, the difference is that it has real funny moments unlike the movie where there are only very sick 'laughing on different ways of death' moments. Thank God, there are no boring 'it was fantastic to work with XY' and 'on the set, we were like a big family' moments. Not as good as the documentaries of the 'ALIEN Quadrology' box set, but definitely worth watching it.
