Fahrenheit 451 (2018)
1984 with Fahrenheit - but not well developed...
I was very excited to watch this movie. The trailer was great and I had just read the book, so I was a bit disappointed when I realized this adaption would have little to do with the book. But this could still be a great movie, even not resembling the book so much.
I noticed it was a mixture of 1984 with Fahreinheit, which was creative to do: "Happiness is Truth." "Freedom is Choice." "Self is Strength." What bothered me though, is that in the book Guy builds up a lot to his decision to "revolt" against the firemen/to this society. The old lady burning herself is what shocks him, but this was already building up. However, in the movie...I don't see it as being so well developed. In my opinion, this could have been better explored.
Like I said before, good ideas, but not well developed. And some good actors as well.
Ibiza (2018)
Light movie with a touch of romance
I don't understand the many bad reviews on this movie. The plot is simple: 3 girls go on a trip and meet guys they're interested in.There's a cute romance with two great actors (Gillian Jacobs and Richard Madden), who immediately click, because they're both awkward and honest. Besides that, it had many light moments, which brought a smile to my face.
It's not supposed to be a super smart movie, so I watched as such. Although I thought the music and the acting were great, while the filming was kind of artistic at points.
