Us (2019)
Unique
I wasn't disappointed with this movie because of the uniqueness. It was good, but the language and rap music was so insulting that unless you muted the sound you were subjected to it for what seemed like forever. The hatred of police by black people is magnified in this type of music. The movie wasn't necessarily scary, but very violent. Has it gotten to the point where filth and crudity is common in all adult movies? I'm still waiting for a good thriller that has been cleaned up to the point where it's worth watching. I KNOW it can happen!
Glass (2019)
A snooze fest
It's a shame that such stellar actors appeared in such a boring movie. I should have paid more attention to the reviews, but I wanted to see James McAvoy again after Split. What a disappointment and waste of money. The roles were limited and much of the beginning was so boring I didn't get it at all.
Second Act (2018)
Sweet comedy
I always enjoy Lopez in these romantic comedies and enjoyed her in this. HOWEVER, Remini ruined this for me. What easily could have been a fun movie was totally destroyed by her language and crudity.
Really? Was all of that necessary? And to the parents of the young boy who played her son, shame on you for allowing him to use such crudity. I enjoyed the story line and although it was repetitive roll playing for Lopez and unrealistic, I would have bumped it up a couple of stars but with Remini, no way. I thought Lopez had more class.
Ben Is Back (2018)
Skip this one
Whatever happened to the Julia Roberts in Notting Hill, Pretty Woman, etc? The acting is sub par, the language is so foul that if I hadn't been engrossed in seeing what would happen to the son, I wouldn't have bothered. I thought Roberts was thoroughly annoying as the mother. It would be wonderfully refreshing to actually watch a movie where the "f" word wasn't used twice in each sentence. The only thing rewarding about this movie are the small children who are adorable.
Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016)
awful
Dear movie goer, after seeing one half of this movie and shutting it down in disgust, I am wondering what happened to the Tyler Perry who brought us Madea's Family Reunion which was hysterical, but thought provoking with a stellar cast. This was unfortunately a foul mouthed piece of garbage.
Get Out (2017)
Unique
I honestly don't understand the great reviews. I was looking for a great thriller but this didn't quite live up to that at all. This movie to me didn't make much sense. If we all want to come together in this world, stop making these foul language, stereotypical movies that are a waste of money when you could make something of quality. The characters are good and creepy, but I just didn't get the movie as a whole.
