Burlesque (2010)
Very entertaining, and "feel good" kind of movie
First, Ana Pangrati, your comment was good, and helpful, I put a thumbs up, by accident, it put thumbs down, and theres no way to change it, I tried to find a way, anyway, I wanted to let you know.
About Burlesque, I loved it. The dancers were awesome, Christina A's character was so adorable, sexy, and just awesome. Sweet girl with such talent. And Cher and Stanley T, everyone- I thought was great in this movie. I loved everything about it, even though you can kind of tell where it's going, but then it surprises you. It's a feel good movie, I love those kind of movies.
I loved just how sweet Ali was, so beautiful, but so sweet, and she had such determination. Also, I loved how they reacted to her first performance, how that whole scene went, it was just so "feel good"!
Also I really loved how it ended, it had a great ending, not one of those kind that leaves you scratching your head.
If a guy doesnt like this movie, then hes not human, hahaha.
I loved those costumes wow!
Monster (2022)
OUTRAGED
Outraged! The way the cops treated the victims or would be victims. The way that INCOMPETENT STUPID INCONSIDERATE FOOL of a "judge" just let the guy WALK, set him FREE! Allthe IDIOT INCOMPETENT POLICE OFFICERS blew off all the OBVIOUS SIGNS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES that this dude was committing HORRIBLE UNSPEAKABLE ACTS/CRIMES! If "Dahmer, the Monster" is based on even 20% truth, this is just UNFORGIVEABLE! I am STUNNED, SHOCKED, OUTRAGED, AND FEEL INCREDIBLE SORROW FOR ALL THE COUNTLESS UNSUSPECTING YOUNG MEN AND THEIR FAMILIES. ONE YEAR REALLY ONE YEAR, AND THAT WAS AFTER HE HAD BEEN SET F R E E ! THERES NO EXCUSE THIS IS HORRIBLE IM TOTALLY OUTRAGED!
Grace and Frankie (2015)
Made me laugh at stuff that actually happens in real life, stuff that I can relate with.
Made me laugh a lot, and every episode made me laugh a bunch. This is a great show. I love Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlinson, and everyone, they all did a great job. It started a little slow, but it quickly caught my interest.
Joy (2015)
That one scene in the movie... makes The whole thing even better!
I love this movie because she SUCCEDS, and doesn't forget where she comes from, ever. It really is a rags to riches story, with Jennifer L blowing our minds again.
And that scene when she is approaching that building in Texas, where she is meeting that asshole from Texas, AND THE MUSIC THATS PLAYING IN THAT SCENE, , that is one of the most badass scenes I have ever watched in a movie, and believe me, the feeling to look forward to here is total satisfaction, FINALLY! I could watch this over and over again , and I forgot to mention the beautiful scene where she is standing outside a store, looking in, during Christmas time, and the snow begins to fall gently, and that beautiful song that is playing... I can't explain it.
Dancing with the Birds (2019)
A look inside the main goal of male birds and their lady birds(or not!)
What a fantastic up close look at birds of paradise, the male bird more specifically, and their whole repertoire in finding a "gal". I have watched birds before, and they are fun to watch; and sometimes I wonder what they do all day besides building nests, raising young, and finding food. But what these male birds do all their lives, and how the females react, it is something extraordinary, And to think this show is based on a 21 year study is just amazing! After seeing Bears, I wanted more(films into the day to day lives of animals), but NO GORE, and I found this gem! I'm watching it again right now!
Dead to Me (2019)
Awesome!
I am a very picky person when it comes to movies. Usually I only watch movies based on true stories. But when I found this show on Netfix, I started watching and I couldn't stop until I watched every single episode until the end. I can't explain it, but I will try: Christina Applegate's character is one that is in the middle of deep sadness having lost her husband, who she loved dearly; you know when you start crying anywhere and everywhere, when the sadness of that person being gone is rushing in again and taking over every part of your being; well that is where she is at at the beginning of the show. And then, as the phases they say we go through( In various orders are the stages), she starts the anger stage, or she is naturally angry, we are not sure here, but whatever it is, she plays it well, and hen there is the friendship that starts developing between her and a girl she met at a grief meeting; a girl who I think is the sweetest friend I wish I could have, anyway, mixed into all this is such quirky, and at times, tasteless comedy, that had me laughing my butt off many times through the whole thing. And then there is the surprises along the way, let's say, and sometimes mixed with complete surprises at times when either one of the main characters does something that I totally didn't expect, and it all works quite well during the entire Dead to Me "movie" for lack of a better word. And I really liked the actress playing Judy, I saw her in Greenbook and she was wonderful in that great movie, too.
Flight (2012)
Denzel blew me away in this movie
This movie was so good. And what a thought- provoking situation this guy went through as a pilot who figured out a way to "save the day" and land his crippled plane, saving the lives of most passengers on board. But in the investigation following the event, this pilot finds himself in a battle with the investigators and others over his piloting the airplane- it turns out, under the influence.
Basically, this movie was really intense and Denzel Washington's excellent acting made it even better.
I love this movie: Denzel kicked ass!
Something the Lord Made (2004)
Wonderful!
I really liked this movie! From the opening scene until the end-non-stop- I was glued to the screen watching this movie. All I can say is it is a " must- see"!
Bleed for This (2016)
I liked it a lot, mostly because of Miles Teller acting.
Reading these reviews I am surprised a majority of viewers didn't care for it, or were bored. But not me, I really enjoyed this movie. But I am a big fan of boxing movies. And this one is great like boxing movies, you know how they usually end... but this one is even better because Miles Teller does such a good acting job, and its a TRUE story, which I also really enjoy.
Whiplash (2014)
Miles Teller
Miles Teller, you kick ass! INtense!! Reminds me of earlier days in my life when I was on a sports team in school and what a nut I was and my coach.
La La Land (2016)
Escape from this world
Totally romantic and dreamy and I love love love it. Fantastic musical. I love this movie and I could watch it again and again
U Turn (1997)
Hilarious and violent
Off the wall movie, just off the wall is all I can think of in 'one word" to describe it.
Some scenes I laughed my ass of, I mean Billy Bob Thornton is so good, he really gets into his characters.
It is one of those movies where you never know what is going to happen next and it is just crazy in parts!
The Notebook (2004)
same as for Something's Gotta Give
Like I said in my review of Somthing's Gotta Give: If you have NEVER beenin loave, YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND
Something's Gotta Give (2003)
G R E A T
If you have NEVER been in love you would never understand!
First Man (2018)
Gripping
The opening scene was mind-blowing! And the rest of the movie was just great showing who Neil Armstrong was,
Hysteria (2011)
This was HILARIOUS!
I loved this movie. I laughed my ass off a couple times. It is very funny and entertaining. Also it makes you think about how different things were back then and reminds me that although 2020 was a VERY DIFFICULT YEAR FOR MANY, living in the 1800's had it's own CHALLENGES(for lack of a better word)-in particular: prior to the discovery and ACCEPTANCE of germ theory, it must have really sucked for patients who had open wounds! I also totally enjoyed the script in this film, the different lingo, if you will, practiced back in the 1800's. The use of the telephone, in it's very early days of use, was really cute. I loved the role that actor Johnathan Prynce played; he's the one that made me laugh my ass off in one of the first scenes. It's great to see him at it again since "A Fish Called Wanda", one of my favorite all time comedies!
50 to 1 (2014)
Absolutely one of my FAVORITES!
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from start to finish. In fact I had to watch it again right after the first time and still want to watch it again.
Great movie!! Feel-good movie. Funny scenes too. And gorgeous actor Skeet Ulrich is a big plus!
The Wizard of Lies (2017)
Great movie
I have to tell you I loved this movie. Even though it was very depressing and such a negative(to put it lightly) true story, this movie was great to watch. It gets your attention and keeps it until the end. And you will keep asking yourself: Did they know or not? Robert DeNiro was fantastic.
Richard Jewell (2019)
Great movie
I was enthralled from the beginning. I really enjoyed this movie. Sam Rockwell happens to be one of my very favorite actors; and he did a fantastic job acting in this movie! The actor that played Richard Jewell was very good also. I mean I got into this movie!
The Bridges of Madison County (1995)
I loved this movie
Let me tell you Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep have such great chemistry. i was hooked from start to finish.
Only the Brave (2017)
Great movie but tends to get very sad
This movie was great it kept me very into it until the end. And let me warn you the end of the movie shows the real guys and plays a very very sad so be prepared to get your "cry" on! Oh and there's some very handsome guys in this movie, I tell you!
Without Limits (1998)
Loved the race scenes!
I used to be a runner, doing 10 k's often. I used to run cross country in high school and college. This movie's race scenes were THE best! Billy Crudup did a phenomenal job playing Pre. What a transformation into this amazing once-in-a-lifetime exceptional runner that Pre was! I adored this movie. Those racing scenes were so engaging to watch! Brings me back to those great memories of my days on the cross country team. I could go on and on, but in a nutshell, this is a great movie.
McFarland, USA (2015)
I cannot wait to watch it again
I loved this movie!!! This was the best movie I have seen in a long time. I was totally immersed from start to finish. I just love how this movie showed such positiveness about people. I love how even the one most not picked for the team did so well in this movie. I just loved this movie! And Kevin Costner's facial expressions were so good. I think everybody should see this movie, runner, athlete, or not!!!
All Eyez on Me (2017)
Tells the story
I just wish Tupac was still around. I would have loved to get to see him or even meet him. I really got to see what the man went through as he worked hard recording songs and making records, cd's, etc. He went through a lot of painful stuff-lots of violence and jail time in the few years that he was alive-which the movie did a great job showing just how much; and how strong a person Tupac really was. It really made me sad, and still makes me sad-that he didn't get to enjoy much of his life at all-he struggled and worked so hard for most of his life. After the movie, I read more of his poems and writings, and I have really gotten to enjoy them so much. I only wished I had while he was alive because I would've loved to go to one of his concerts. What a great writer Tupac was. I liked the movie- I think they did a good job showing the turmoil as he grew up as a young black man in today's society-to the few years of hard work as he became successful in the rap music world, cut short when he was shot up at, again, on the Las Vegas Strip. What a horrible way to die. So sad. R.I.P. TUPAC
I, Tonya (2017)
Tonya Harding: like she really was
I have to say this movie was really good. Getting an inside look on what really happened- it is really shocking. Tonya really loved skating-performing-everything about figure skating. She started way young, too. It was her life. Until she met and fell in love with that man that ruined it all, after having beaten up on her for so many years-Jeff Goolooly, or whatever his name was. He concocted that plan to hurt Nancy Kerrigan-he was dreaming up ideas of doing something to mess with Nancy, him along with that fat guy in the movie; while he was running around and busy meeting with the fat guy, planning, Tonya was on the ice, training for her competition. That's where she was at physically and mentally. Those guys had their own agenda. And the result of that-the incident-wound up causing the Court to ban Tonya, for life, ban her from ever competing in figure skating. Destroyed her life, the only thing that kept her sane(I believe). The scene in the courtroom when the judge delivers this horrible news- at which time Tonya gets to address the Court, is such a deeply moving scene-she's pleading to the Judge to let her keep doing the only thing she knows to do-skating-and she's crying her eyes out, just trying anything to convince the judge to NOT do this to her... it's just the saddest thing to watch. The acting is extraordinary. Totally extraordinary. This movie is an eye opener. I mean you can tell that Tonya had nothing to do with what happened to Nancy when ( in the scene after the incident-when the F.B.I. are approaching Tonya and Jeff-following them around and asking questions): Tonya is NOT freaking out, she's acting normally, even accepting a ride from the F.B.I., while Jeff is freaking out, paranoid and she's wondering what the hell- Seeing the different emotions and behaviors between the guilty-Jeff and the innocent-Tonya-really shows that she had no idea that that was going to happen. Tonya was an exceptional skater, and she wanted to be as good as she could and worked hard to be the best she could-she relied on that fact alone when she competed. She did her best skating and the triple axel and all that-she didn't want to do anything else. And that was what she did-skated her best, always, and try to win based on her abilities-She wasn't trying to win at all costs-like hurting the competition! Tonya wasn't about that-she was a FIGURE SKATER, she had a gift, she knew it, and that was what her whole being was focused on. She was on the ice doing that/ while other people had other plans-and she paid for it in the long run. Also, it sucks for Nancy, that was terrible! How sIcary and painful and horrible-something Jeff Galooly himself came up with, with another sneaky-guy, who was supposedly Tonya's security-whatever, and the two other guys who were eventually added into the plan.
