No Exit (2022)
No one wins
Overly violent story line was unbelievable as well - there are twists, and then there are moments that ask you to suspend logic...and this has the latter Amazing acting from lead actress is only reason I gave it even 4 stars.
Malignant (2021)
Seriously couldn't take this...seriously.
Warning: Spoilers
I thought the intro scene was meant to be a bad movie someone in the actual movie was watching, and that after the opening titles we would switch to the real story. But nope. The whole thing is like a parody. And I kept being taken out of the story by the melodramatic acting and the blatant errors (for example. They emphasized the main character's head wound as quite severe but when she is in hospital her head is not shaved - and it would have been to allow for stitches - AND her sister keeps rubbing her head to "comfort" her). Just a disappointment.
The Postcard Killings (2020)
So disappointing
Considering the actors you would think this would at least have been half decent...but no. Seriously one of the worst movies I have seen (and considering I am a disabled shut in, I watch a lot). From disjointed plot to impossible scenarios , I wish I had chosen to rewatch Plan 9 from Outer Space!
Grave Halloween (2013)
Above par for a TV movie
I was so surprised at how good this movie was! The first half does an excellent job of building suspense and the story has substance. Although the lead actress overacted a bit at points, the others were above par for a made for TV flick. I especially enjoyed how intense the horror became in the latter half and the special effects were really good (warning: more gore than you expect). I was expecting the usual over dramatic stuff and was glued to the TV instead. (The only thing I felt disappointed with was the name given to the man they meet at the beginning of their journey - it made it too obvious what part he was going to play if you know anything about the mythology). All in all a very entertaining horror film.
