Well done slow burn
20 March 2022
I thoroughly enjoyed this. I didn't read reviews, had no idea of the plot, except for what was written in the synopsis on Shudder. Excellent acting all around. Quirky, dark and does an interesting take on the psyche, the tarot, intuition and ghosts. The music and set designs were well done. IMHO, for a low budget, independent film, it was great.

Interesting & Odd - Boomer Review
18 December 2021
Those of us over 50's should come to this film for the Carroll Baker and Dennis Hopper combo alone! The rest of it reminds me of stoner parties with drunken friends. Only these people are oblivious to the world around them and forced into a hell created from the dregs of their own self-absorbed dependencies and psychosis.

Natasha brought me here
15 November 2021
Not a cinematic classic, more of a low budget, group therapy session during a hurricane - with a bit of DEA, drug dealer, hostage craziness. Decently acted overall, for a low budget film. Natasha is still beautiful, even after all these years. Costas Mandylor is always a decent actor. Not worth your time unless you are stuck in a hurricane or have a mad crush on Natasha and/or Costas.

WTH With the Ending
20 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I sat through this to only can be away very disappointed with the ending. What happened to Ray Liotta? What happened to the protagonist's family? That ending where he embraces his (supposedly) divorced wife & daughter? The lead actor was not the best, all that torture & he remaining d clean shaven and never went to the bathroom in his pants with all the torture he endured. Was it all in his mind? Was it a breakthrough in therapy? I was intrigued by the plot, it seemed to have the possibility of going in PTSD & family relationships. The screenwriting was awful and agan, the lead actor, while passable in spots, just wasn't believable. I love Ray Liotta and I guess he just makes movies like this for fun??? I hope that's all it is, and that he's not broke - because he's a truly talented actor and should be being offered better scripts than this.

Meh, not based in reality
20 April 2021
When the lead actor is the producer, Director, screenwriter - etc. You take your chances. Glad I didn't pay to see this. Too cliche and no depth to the characters. Like a Lifetime movie, for the Wolf generation.

Sad to witness
13 April 2021
It is a bit sad to see Jean Reno in this quality of film. The other actors are awful, except the woman that was losing her memory. The nameless younger leads are just too wooden. Does he need money? Or is this the only scripts he's getting? He needs née management.

Much better than expected
6 April 2021
I just came across this film while flipping thru Plex Live. At 1st I thought it was going to be lame, but once the house party started it got crazy, violent, interesting, gory & fun. The acting (for the most part) was great! Interesting plot twists kept me watching until the end. Don't expect perfection, but if rockabilly music, bikers, aliens and pretty girls are your thing - this is a fun watch.

Not bad - but could have been so much more
3 April 2021
The 4 lead actors are the reason I stuck around. These were hit commodities back in the 80's that just never really made it to their publicists promises. I'll watch Michael Pare and James Russo in practically anything. Theresa Russell and Steven Bauer are B-list that had a few starring moments back in the day, but yet - here they are. The rest of the cast just weren't in their caliber and could not hold the film. I did enjoy watching it, even though it was poorly written and the cinematography was non existent. Good way to waste some time while recovering from getting 3 teeth (1 was a wisdom tooth) pulled & on zone out meds. I dug the twist at the end. Again, poorly executed, but an interesting take on split personalities and tragedy. As I stated before, this could have been a decent film given better character depth and scene setups.

Decent film- predictable females disappoint
21 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
You can tell this film was written by a straight male. Dave's wife is a shallow woman. She plays mind games, lies to herself and betrays her husband. She insults and demeans him for being a loving husband and father because she is attracted to the bad boy. If not for this awful, stereotypical portrayal of a married woman, I'd have enjoyed this film more. Exploring the dangerous dynamic with the Vance's would have made this a much more complex film.

Pure escapist fun in the time of Covid
5 March 2021
Almost every other reviewer is saying the same thing, so I'll spare the Punisher/Rambo/Death Wish comparisons. It's Steven Sagal in 2016, older, fatter, but still fun to watch. Plus it's got Craig Sheffer (any 80's/90's film buff knows what he brings to the table. And James Russo!!! One of the best overactors on the planet! These guys are in their 60's and having fun making a flick with a thin plot, bad CGI - but man oh man - those bullet fly, and double knives slash across guts and dead crooks everywhere. The shoot out are quite imaginative and funny in places. Pure fun.

Fun time capsule
17 October 2020
Edward Platt - before he was the boss on Get Smart. I love the fashion, interior decoration and cinematography. The acting is kinda bad, but it's fun to watch B Hollywood backlots make pale imitations of the real beatnik movement. And cash in on the Beat Generation fame.

The cast alone makes it a must see
16 April 2020
Almost all actors from 50's and 60's film and TV. Aldo Ray? Neville Brand? Are you serious? I was all over this one. The plots a bit weak, but it Was the 70's - just take some acid, smoke some weed - and it all makes sense. LOL!

Interesting Characters but...
6 April 2020
1st things 1st- The Richard Baskin vocals are awful. Almost takes me out of the movie, except the lyrics are part of the story. A California version of a Woody Allen film, and that is meant as a compliment. Shot in a gauzy, 70's California style, it's a time capsule of a world that doesn't exist anymore. And Keith Carradine is sexy AF.

Every Bad Review is CORRECT
4 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The best thing about this - ahem, movie - is the image that you see as you are scrolling through what to watch. Don't start it, don't waste your time, it won't get better, it has no redeeming qualities. Just STAY away, I'm begging you. You'll never get that time back. Go spend it playing with your dog, cat or kids. Call your mom and say 'hi'. Watch a lava lamp do it's thing, whatever. Anything will be better than this sorry excuse for entertainment. Not even bad/good. This is supposed to be taking place in 1974 & hearing that one guy reminisce about being stuck in 'Nam while 'Charlie' was on the attack made me almost choke on my popcorn. Totally ridiculous. It was the one good laugh I got out of this monstrosity.

Pretty good...
15 August 2015
But it needs editing. Some scenes were just way too long and should have been edited. But I liked the lead character. He was funny and yet earnest & over the top. I thought he was cute in that history teacher nerdy way. I did not get the ending....but I enjoyed most of the road getting there. The music and scenery were lovely. I loved the mood and the set design. Reminded me of other English 70's psychodramas. I'll probably try to watch it again to see if I missed anything to understand the ending better. It could have been tighter at 45 mins. Some of the walking in the woods scenes were redundant and lent nothing to the story IMHO. But still, it was interesting.

John Cusack - why, oh why....
29 May 2015
Kind of sad to see the talented John Cusack & Jason Patric in sub standard fare such as this. It's like a Lifetime movie for macho guys. The only good acting comes from them, then the cast tries to match their intensity - with spotty results. Overall, a decent time waster, for those John Cusack fans, like me. Still, with better writing & artistic direction, it might have looked like something more than a bad late 80's TV pilot. BTW, 50 Cent is really good for the short time he is on screen. Jonathan Scheoch, is hardly recognizable. And Bruce Willis, is Bruce Willis. The young girls were just not up to the caliber of the lead cast. It was close, but still had the overall feel of a low budget TV movie. Such a wast of Cusack's talent.
