Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
7/10 Too Much Water
This movie made me realize that I don't like water much. Let's face it, water is kinda boring. We spend way too much time in that ocean village watching people swiming and smiling under water. It's slow and we don't feel invested like we were in the forest in the first movie. The truth is it feels unnecessary to redo the whole "learning the way" phase. The first movie did it well already and now redoing the same thing somewhere else feels tiresome. I really liked the first act with the guerilla thing then it just falls flat when they start learning about water. I liked the characters and wanted to know more about them; I really hope the sequel will focus way way less on the environment and more on the characters. If they could just leave that lame water village that'd be perfect.
Sonic Prime (2022)
I though it would have been cringe but I liked it!
The new Sonic content since at least the second movie, makes me realize how big of a problem the previous Sonic writers were. Still up to this day, I have to deal with a Sonic Colors/Boom PTSD. I hated the sarcastic, nerdy, dead inside comedy. Sonic Prime is the kind of energy Sonic should always have. The content is great for fast paced action and even fun humor.
The lore isn't religiously respected but it's not super outrageous neither. The characters are acting like themselves and their other versions are interesting for most of them. I'd say the weakest part was the forest universe and they don't drag it for too long. Also it's not an episodic deal, it's an actual series, so we revisit universes and there's a progression. If you liked the older Sonic stuff (before 2010) or you're a normie, it's an enjoyable show.
Fugueuse (2018)
First season is ok. Second season is the absolute woke disaster..
The first season is ok I guess and everyone should stop there. Second season is the perfect example of how the woke destroy everything they touch. Ridiculous plot and cringe sidestories.
Is It Cake? (2022)
A bunch of woke people now ruining cake shows
I usually like food shows but I strongly dislike the humans of this one. Being forced to listen to a bunch of woke Netflix weirdos and their lame humor sucks all the fun out of watching cakes looking like furnitures. Next time focus on the food and less on the cringe.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
Too Fakey for Martial Art Fans.
I watched this movie because people praised the action scenes but seriously, you have to be a complete martial art movie noob to be impressed by this stuff. Most of the scenes are obviously fake and full of CGI. The fun thing about martial art stuff is to watch actual athletes doing crazy stuff. You see with this movie that the main character isn't a skilled martial artist to begin with and it becomes embarrassingly obivious with the fight scene with Michelle Yeoh, who is an actual talented fighter. They had to cut multiple times and add CGI magic to make him look good. They lost me completely when they started to go crazy on cartoon fantasy and cheap chinese lore. It's a dull and generic movie for people who have watched a lot of asian movies. I give 4 because at least it's not woke.
Dune (2021)
No I did not read any books. Yes I found this movie boring.
I liked the 1984 Dune movie but this one is a bore fest. It's basically the same scenes from the old version but add 20 + minutes of nothing to it and the worst is they only did half of the story. It's that kind of movie that makes you wish you'd have a poisoned tooth to use right away.
Close Enough (2020)
It's...okay.. but still feels unsatisfactory for a Regular Show fan
This show is ok but I did not fall in love with it. I absolutely loved Regular Show for its crazyness and high energy. Close Enough just feels like a more bland Regular Show and it focuses way too much on the insecurities of people in their 30s. At some point the jokes around this theme become redundant. There are a few moments in the series when you expect JG Quintel's former crazyness to show up but it feels like it's never going far enough to become satisfactory. I guess he was trying to get a more "normal" crowd with this show but for fans that are looking for the Regular Show experience; it's like an annoying tease at some point, you always expect it but they never deliver.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Very Dull Bill and Ted Movie
I really enjoyed the first two movies but this one was very boring. It lacked of the former edge of the series; it was way too sanitized and politically correct. The result is a soulless Bill and Ted with no charm and fun.
