Great premise, weak execution
23 May 2023
Yikes, this was painfully underwhelming in a lot of areas. It may have some decent animation, voice-acting, some cool gore, and a wicked premise, but all of that were wasted on a below average flick that suffers from awkward pacing, underwhelming writing and overall plot, lack of a coherent direction, and bland unfunny humor & jokes. A damn shame because I really liked Aqua Teen Hunger Force (this movie is written by the same guy that wrote a lot of episodes for that show) and its quirky humor, but this was painfully bland at best. Somehow this 70 minute long movie feels 3x as long. Overall, better than some other Tubi Original movies, but sadly still far from being halfway decent.

Good, but could've been great if not awesome even
23 September 2022
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The trailers didn't leave me with too much impression, but I was still willing to give it a fair shot anyway, and now I'm quite glad I did. I found this movie to be pretty good overall, despite that I had a few issues here and there. The cons are mediocre characterizations, slightly slow, clunky pacing at times, some historical points in this movie are inaccurate, and almost no actual violence whatsoever due to the PG-13 rating, I personally feel this movie would greatly benefitted from the R rating rather than PG-13 which was done for sake of attracting a wider audience.

And now for the positive aspects of this movie. Amazing acting performances all-around, above average visuals and cinematography, high quality production values, interesting presentation and concept, some useful social commentary here & there, cool action scenes along with decent editing, and a great Terrence Blanchard music score.

In conclusion, while this movie could use a few improvements here and there, I still had a good time watching this movie overall and is something I do personally recommend.

Marmaduke (2022)
1/10
From the Director of Spawn (1997), comes this Atrocity!
12 May 2022
Just as you thought the 2010 live-action Marmaduke movie wasn't bad enough, suddenly here comes Netflix with this 2022 animated movie, and it manages to be even worse!

Not only is this the worst movie of 2022 (for me), it's also in general one of the worst animated movies I've ever seen in my life, joining alongside Foodfight, the IFD Films animation like Beauty & Warrior and Protectors of Universe, and any movie made by the Brazilian Pixar/DreamWorks rip-off company Video Brinquedo.

This new Marmaduke movie is a complete fail in every category such as boring lackluster voice-acting, obnoxious/irritating humour & jokes, horrible direction, a nonsensical plot, terrible overall message, unlikeable annoying characters, and probably the worst offender of them all the animation. My God, I thought that new Ice Age movie on Disney+ didn't have some of the worst animation I've seen in a while, but Marmaduke manages to take that abysmal animation to a whole new level of awfulness!

Everything about the animation is butt ugly, from the terrible color palettes to bland uninspired environments, poor lip-syncing throughout, and vomit-inducing character designs that are so bad it makes the two recent Addams Family animated films look like a Pixar movie. It truly does have a cheap feel throughout, even a old PlayStation 1 or NIntendo 64 game would look better visually than this trash.

Please do yourselves a favor and stay far away from this movie, one of the absolute worst of 2022 along with Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild!

The Batman (2022)

Best Comic Book Adaptation Ever
5 March 2022
Truly one of the best comic book movies I've ever seen in a long time if not the best ever period. This new Batman movie was a splendid watch from start to finish.

With incredible acting & dialogue, a really good story, an amazing Michael Giacchino score, wonderful visuals, cinematography, and production designs/values, very exciting action, neat direction and editing, etc. I honestly think this movie even gives The Dark Knight and Logan both a run for their respective money. And Robert Pattinson has truly came a long way as a actor after the Twilight series concluded 10 years ago, having seen Tenet, High Life, and The Lighthouse all myself as well.

Matt Reeves has truly done a fantastic job with this movie, and honestly I hope it will get a follow-up someday down the road cause I'm definitely looking forward to some more Pattinson Bruce Wayne/Batman!

What a nothing movie
24 February 2022
Bad acting, bad CGI gore effects, sex & nudity just for sake of it, predictable stupid plot, very weak direction, poor cinematography, lame music, and a LOL ending.

What more can I say about this nothing movie. Skip it.

Can the franchise just die now please?
18 February 2022
A complete dumpster fire. Other than some real cool gore and at least it's a fast paced movie, this new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie on Netflix is a epic fail. From bad acting & dialogue to annoying, beyond stereotypical characters along with horrible direction, lazy story and writing, meh cinematography, forgettable music, really weak social commentary in the addition to the obviously forced SJW politics which I'm honestly am getting tired of in movies now, and production values somehow looks & feels even cheaper than the previous two TCM movies made by Millennium Media.

This makes Halloween Kills look like The Empire Strikes Back, it's that bad of a movie!

Can the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series please rest in peace now? There's really nothing more you can do with the Leatherface lore at this point. P. S., I'm honestly am not a huge TCM fan with exception of part 2, the 2003 remake and its prequel The Beginning. The 1974 original didn't aged all that well and the rest range from mediocre to atrocious.

Avoid this dumpster fire at all costs! No wonder Legendary Pictures scrapped its planned theatrical release & sold it to Netflix, lol.

LOL Bad
17 February 2022
This is the most LOL bad movie I've seen in a while.

With bad dialogue & performances, horrible direction, a dumb predictable plot, unlikeable characters, horrid editing, lousy visuals & special effects, and the suspense more laughable than scary.

3/10 only because it had a few laughably bad moments and the concept is kinda cool, maybe with a better director and writer this concept might work.

Another day another bottom of the barrel Netflix Original movie not worth watching whatsoever.

Better than it had business being
17 February 2022
While the acting isn't the best and the story & characters are paperthin at best, what surprisingly makes this British low-budget gem fun are the top-notch practical gore effects, the cool Grindhouse-style cinematography & visuals, really fast pacing, good direction and writing, and a cool premise/concept.

This movie is better than it had any business being, definitely worth a look!

Moonfall (2022)
4/10
Roland Emmerich's Most Forgettable Movie
12 February 2022
I wanted to enjoy Moonfall so badly, but sadly at the end of the day I couldn't. This was ultimately a bland, boring, and overall forgettable flick. Despite decent performances, visuals, music score, and a somewhat cool idea, Moonfall suffers from slow clunky pacing, generic characters, a story that makes little to no sense whatsoever & doesn't know what it really wants to be, action whenever there is such thing is rather so-so at best, bad writing & direction, and poor overall execution.

This is easily Emmerich's most forgettable movie to date, at least it's still better than 10,000 B. C. and Independence Day Resurgence though. Moonfall is a movie most may wanna skip.

Not a fan of it
25 January 2022
While it is a well-made movie and it does have a interesting premise and I appreciated that this movie is fast paced, what hurts Amandla for me are pretty much almost everything else. The bland performances along with cringey dialogue, a story that ultimately leads nowhere, weak direction, below average overall screenplay, a ending that I totally saw coming & was incredibly predictable, weak character development, and a pretty useless social commentary that adds little to nothing to help advance the story.

I don't recommend this South African Netflix Original.

Didn't like it
25 December 2021
While the cast lineup is great and it does admittedly have some interesting ideas, the general execution in this movie is overall piss poor due to unnatural hammy acting and dialogue, not a single funny joke or reference, a generic predictable plot, bad special effects, poorly executed social commentary, beyond irritating characters, and overall bad direction and writing from Adam McKay. This was yet another bottom of the barrel Netflix Original movie, what more could I expect, especially from a overrated writer and director to begin with. Not recommended.

A Lazy Rehash of the First Movie
22 December 2021
Despite good visuals, cinematography, production values, passable performances, and a okay music score, everything else about The Matrix Resurrections is just nothing more than a lazy rehash of the first Matrix movie but with poor character development, bland uninspired action sequences, sluggish pacing, a dull story, a forced feminist agenda, and overall poor direction and writing.

Warner Bros should've left this franchise unplugged after Revolutions which concluded the series' story in a good satisfying note. This was just another lazy attempt to resurrect a finished or dead IP with a unneeded, unnecessary sequel/prequel/remake/reboot, it's literally The Force Awakens all over again!

Somewhat flawed but still a fun watch
16 October 2021
Despite having too many plot holes, wooden dialogue, and awkward pacing, Halloween Kills is still a pretty enjoyable flick if you eventually overlook the flaws thanks to a musical score being just as great as ever, a interesting ending, the decent cinematography, alright direction, and it is by far the goriest installment in the Halloween series, it's like as if David Gordon Green had watched High Tension or any of the Hatchet movies and decided to import some of the gore elements into this movie.

Not a bad movie to watch on your own time, to me it's kinda more of the same thing as the last Halloween movie, but you could do so much worse than this (looking at you Halloween Resurrection).

The Reckoning (2020)
5/10
Meh
7 October 2021
The Reckoning is not as awful as some people say, but at the same time I don't think it's that great of a movie neither. To me it was just a generic mediocre at best movie. The cons that hurt this movie a little bit for me are the wooden dialogue, sluggish pacing & editing, a story that doesn't know what it wants to be, little character development, and below average at best screenplay. Some of the redeeming qualities of this movie but not limited to decent production values and cinematography for a low-budget British flick, some cool gore here & there, a interesting concept (despite the lackluster execution), and a nice musical score.

When I think of Neil Marshall, I liked Dog Soldiers, I really liked The Descent, I even didn't mind his Hellboy (2019) reboot for what it was. Unfortunately The Reckoning is every bit as weak & underwhelming of a flick as the likes of Doomsday (2008) and Tales of Halloween. A definite wait for a sale on this one.

2021's best
24 September 2021
Absolutely incredible movie. The Green Knight could very well be one of the best movies of 2021 by far. I loved just about everything in this movie such as amazing acting, beautiful cinematography and visuals, a really great score, story makes very sense & not a single minute felt like pointless filler, really excellent direction and writing from David Lowery, superb make-up, awesome production designs, etc.

While this movie might not be for everyone, it will certainly become one of my favorite movies in a long run. If you haven't seen it yet, I now very highly recommend you do so!

James Wan has done it again!
10 September 2021
James Wan doesn't disappoint when it comes to horror movies, and it shows here in Malignant. A fun bonkers horror flick with good performances, fun gore, real tension & actual suspense, a decent music score, decently-written characters, and overall very good writing & direction from Wan. Highly recommended.

Terrible Bollywood Horror Movie
6 September 2021
A complete waste of my time movie due to bad acting, a very all over the place convoluted plot & narrative, horrible direction, abysmal screenplay, below average cinematography, atrocious editing & pacing, non-existent character development, and a bland at best score. The only redeemable quality of this movie is the gore, but unfortunately it can't save the movie from being so extremely incoherent & a slob to get through. It also does admittedly have a few interesting ideas, maybe if the writing and direction weren't so terrible, these ideas could really shine in a much better movie. Stay the hell away from this movie and just stick with say the Jumanji movies.

Candyman (2021)
6/10
Okay
4 September 2021
This reboot-sequel to the 1992 Candyman movie overall was alright, it had some good things, but also plenty of downsides as well. The downsides include weak character development, social/race commentary too in your face (first film did it better!), most of the deaths are off-screen, and the ending was incredibly rushed.

The positives I do have for this movie are decent acting performances, very good cinematography and production values, cool visual effects, not bad direction from Nia DaCosta, and at least an above average musical score.

At least it's better than the other two Candyman sequels Farewell to the Flesh (meh) and Day of the Dead (trash), so there's that I guess, but the first movie is still the absolute best & pretty much the only great one in the franchise. And as a Jordan Peele written/produced movie, Get Out and Us both were much more impressive flicks as well. Best to go in into this new Candyman movie with low expectations.

Survive the movie
2 September 2021
Yet another abysmal VOD Bruce Willis flick featuring abysmal acting, awful direction and writing, no real tension not suspense, stiff pacing, terrible production values, and the list goes on & on & on. Survive this movie if you dare to watch it, otherwise be smart and go waste 89 minutes of your time somewhere else!

Alright
31 August 2021
Despite being too much style over substance as well as mediocre overall screenplay, I still at least had an alright time watching this movie due to decent performances, good gore & violence, pleasing visuals and cinematography, and some nice music here & there. Recommended mostly as a time waster of a flick.

I'm black and I didn't liked this movie neither
27 August 2021
Not a very good movie due to hammy over-the-top performances, a confusing overcomplicated plot, bad direction and screenplay, wonky pacing, and just poor all-around execution. The few redeeming qualities include solid cinematography, decent production designs, good score, and a few cool ideas.

Also I'm kinda tired of movies exploiting black trauma just for sake of it without any real substance & execution. Skip it.

Not as bad as some people say
21 August 2021
While sure I understand it's a wannabe Blade Runner and Inception, sure the pacing, ending, and character development could've been better. But ultimately speaking I actually enjoyed this movie overall because I thought it had good acting, a interesting story and overall concept, some beautiful visuals and cinematography along with solid use of green screen, a cool Ramin Djawadi score, and decent directing.

To those who didn't liked this movie, I completely respect your opinion, and those who are on a fence on watching this movie, I do recommend checking it out and see for yourself.

Very good
19 August 2021
A very good Sci-fi-Mystery movie with a innovative original plot and concept, superb acting, very good direction & writing from Andrew Niccol, a nice solid score by Michael Nyman, tight editing, and overall first rate cinematography and production designs. Only major con I had with this movie is that the pacing could move a little faster and also the ending was a bit weak. Otherwise I had a very solid time with this movie and if you haven't seen it, I do highly recommend this one.
