One Day (2024)
Another
Pointless remake...
Why make this?
This didn't add anything to the movie
It didn't do anything differently
Why this format?
A 14-episode 30-minute miniseries
It just made the pacing of the story worse
This book and the subsequent movie adaptation got a lot of hype because of the ending
The argument of it can even be called a romance without a HEA
So ultimately my gripe is why remake something without adding or subtracting anything and why tell a story in 7 hours when it has already been told in 2
Acting is fine
Characters have chemistry
Attention to details was good
I want more romance adaptations and there are so many great books waiting to be adapted...
The Gray Man (2022)
Actors have indeed said the lines with a straight face
Whoever wrote the dialogue, should reconsider their career.
Cliche action/spy movies are great but don't do all the cliches at once.
Underwhelming villains and stupid dialogue killed the movie for me.
For All Mankind (2019)
Another good idea turns to dust
This review is based on the first four episodes. Shame on me for thinking this would be anything but yet another USA propaganda story,...
Acting was not good either especially since this is mostly a drama not an SF show.
The Last Duel (2021)
Subtle changes that make the difference
The storytelling is brilliant. We see the story three times, each time from the POV of one of our characters. Nobody is lying but the truth is muddied by who they are. The husband sees himself as a protector and a loving husband. Later we see that he is not a bad husband for that time but he only sees his wife as property. Adam Driver's ego has made him blind. He rapes her in his own version of the truth but because he has the looks and the charm and because he is a kind of man who sees every look and every simple smile as a woman 'wanting' him, he dismisses her pleas and her 'No' as 'the customary resistance'. This movie makes you think, not to mention the amazing acting and cinematography. Well done indeed.
Mai Neim (2021)
revenge must be mine
As cliche as this trope can be
the action was fun.
It was fast-paced and a good binge.
The acting was not consistant
music was jarring and not the best fit.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
genric
The fact that Calypso was in this movie, constantly took me out of it. The pacing was the real issue here,... The ending is promising,... But overall, I had a good time watching this.
Red Notice (2021)
This was surprisingly bad
I was ready for 90 minutes of fun.
The jokes did not land. The cast did not have chemistry. The action was not fun. There was cliche after cliche and the I found the twist out, 15 minutes into the movie.
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018)
not quite there
This movie had all the ingredients that make a movie great but it did not quite reach it. I think the main reason was the inconsistency in tone.
Hacks (2021)
Give the pilot a try and then decide
I stuck with the show for 10 episodes but ultimately didin't like it. I don't think I even smiled once during the whole season. I should have trusted my instinct and stopped after episode 1.
The White Lotus (2021)
irritating but entertaining
Do you like watching irritating, passive-aggressive, entitled people get away with everything? This is the show for you.
I wanted to set most of them on fire. It's like browsing twitter or facebook for a couple of hours. Brilliantly done.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
What did I just watch?
Did this movie made any sense? Absolutely not
Was it fun to watch? Yup.
A Discovery of Witches (2018)
What happened?
First season 9
Second season 6
How can the acting become so bad? They COULD actually act in the first season
The Flight Attendant (2020)
What is that music?
This could've been a good 2h movie. Acting was good and the main plot was interesting enough...
Virgin River (2019)
How? Why? Who?
A pretty and young medical professional woman who is a fashionista after having a drama involving a male relative decides to move from a big city and a demanding job to a small community in the middle of nowhere and into a very relax family practice. She needs a ride into town and instantly makes it apparent that she is a fish out of water. Her house which was promised to her by the town's mayor is a disaster. So she goes to the local hangout spot which is a bar and from the first second has a connection with the local bartender. This bartender is a hunky man. He is tough but has a soft side. He is charming and flirtatious and decides to pursue this woman without getting any hints from her. The locals are wary of outsiders. The local doctor is an old man who is stuck in his old ways and can't accept help so he keeps her out of his way and doesn't trust her with his patients eventhough she is overqualified. All this is discouraging and her family who live in the big city tell her to just come back but she is not a woman who bows down to a challenge. No, I'm not describing the pilot of this show. I'm describing Hart of dixie. If you can't even produce a pilot, why should I give you a chance?
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Even superhero movies need to make some sense
-Was this a good movie? No.
-Am I giving it a 7 rating just because of the emotional scenes with Steve? Yes.
-Am I ashamed of my reasoning? Only a little.
Godmothered (2020)
the last 10 minutes
This was an interesting idea about the modern take on happily ever after but that last 10 minutes was torturous to watch... If you do a good job of storytelling, there is no need for preaching
Medici (2016)
Is it sound mixing or editing?
I Love this sort of historical melodrama...
But my God I could not bear the sound mixing... it took me out of the show every 10 minutes... never thought it was that important... next time I see the Oscars, I am gonna pay more attention to these categories...
Bodyguard (2018)
but the ending,...
I had so much hope for this. The first three episodes were a 9, the next two were a 6 but the ending was a 2 at best. It didn't go where I was hoping it would go and that's a shame.
