The Lost City (2022)
Funny, action-packed
This movie was cute, funny, action-packed entertainment. It was very reminiscent of Romancing The Stone. I was a little spoofy, but not so much so that it ruined my enjoyment. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope they make a sequel. All the actors did a wonderful job at their roles. Sandra Bullock was her usual beautiful powerful self. Channing Tatum was endearing, hunky as usual, with a soft side. I liked Daniel Radcliffe cast as the villain.
All in all it was a fun movie. Great for a date-night. Appropriate for younger viewers since it's PG-13. Some mild violence, romance depicted, but tastefully.
Them (2021)
No explanation, just vague and anticlimactic
This movie is very slow. Took two sittings to finish it. There seem to be Them (a vague group of non-humans) and humans who are either "asleep" or awake. But, who are Them?! It's never really explained. How did they get there, what is their purpose, and why can't people just be awake? It's only vaguely alluded to, but never explained. Is this like a non-sci-fi version of The Matrix? If so, it's Very Poorly Executed. Very Very slow, tons of just walking or standing around. Then the whole thing is just reset anyway. Totally pointless.
Don't waste your time unless you like to be left dumbfounded and confused.
Any good reviews HAVE to be from people involved in making this movie, that's the only explanation for a good review here.
Isolated (2022)
Anti climactic ending, kind of slow, just okay
Nell wakes up in a plain bare room with no memory of how or why she's there. Enter the voice of Travis in the room adjacent. They form a tentative connection due to terrible circumstances. Nell has flashes of some sort of memories. They are of course trying to escape. The ending leaves the viewer flat. The acting is okay, but not great, but that could be a bad director too. I think there's too much dead screentime with nothing happening. There's plot points that are never fully explained. Don't waste your time if you want to watch something really good. But if you're bored and just want to check it out, then it's not too bad.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
Classic British humor, not just for men
This movie is classic British humor. On the dry side but totally hilarious. Not just for men, as many people like to think. So so many quotable lines make this movie unforgettable.
Contains skit humor tied together into a complete plot.
Definitely worth the watch.
