Only given a run for it's money for worst home alone by home sweet home alone
16 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Unlike most people I don't generally have an issue with home alone remakes/style movies as I feel the general idea is timeless. However, this film is genuinely like a bunch of people sat round a table and said 'how can be make the absolute worst film imaginable'

The plot itself isn't actually too bad, but it's absolutely butchered by the fact there's hardly any traps, most of the characters are quite unlikeable. An example of this is that 'Peter Mccallister' is pretty much an absolute scumbag in this film yet his new fiancee Natalie who isn't even that bad is built up to be an antagonist. Then at the end Peter absolutely heartlessly dumps her and leaves her alone at Christmas to get back together with his old wife, why? Well no real reason.

I can't believe this abomination was actually produced, a slug has more imagination than whoever wrote this.

Not too bad!

Enjoyable film with decent plot and actors.

The final battle was a bit anti-climactic though as the kids want more slap stick and a longer home alone style battle instead of a 3 second fight!

Other than that it wasn't bad!

This film is not bad but should have been the last in the franchise
30 November 2021
The bad ratings are just from disgruntled people comparing it to the original, in a stand alone sense the film has an interesting plot and a fresh take on usual home alone-esque movies.

The kid (Alex) is actually more likeable in my opinion than Kevin as he doesn't really come off as a spoiled brat... The villains are also a great part of the movie this time being sophisticated spies as opposed to street hoods and are played by fantastic actors. The part everyone wants to know about (the traps) certainly doesn't disappoint.

Overall despite the fact it will never beat the first two films this is a great sequal, something I can't say for the following movies in the franchise.

Unfortunately, I don't think we will ever see an end to home alone spin offs as the plot line is pretty timeless...kid beats up bad guys!

And...the production team are criminals

Warning: Spoilers
Unlike most people I had no issues with this movie being made as the plot is timeless, the problem however is that your left the whole time feeling sorry for the 'villains'. The storyline of a kid beating up bad guys is as old as time but this film fails to deliver the basic necessity that the audience need to actually have a reason to dislike the baddies.

You don't want to see a nice married couple on the verge of financial ruin, after thinking they've had something stole from them getting beat up.

Home alone minus the traps
2 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Like I don't actually mind films ripping off home alone as it is a timeless plot line (kid defeats grown baddies) but I draw the line at these lazy reboots that cheap out on even having traps.

Tennis balls weakly coming out of a machine is so lame that even the youngest of viewers would not be entertained, the worst part is there was plenty of opportunity to have a great climax as it took place in a shut down school for the love of God!

The epitome of contemporary films
27 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
In times gone by the 'protagonists' in this film would have been considered the worst of villains.

It's extremely painful to watch (not in a good way) in the sense that any normal person will be fuming at the ears watching these vile monsters being portrayed as the protagonists

It would all be worthwhile if there was a victory of justice or comeuppance at the end, but nothing of the sort happens.

It's like the borrowers (1997) exept Mr Potter succeeds with the demolition, renders the family homeless, makes millions and then they roll the credits.

Avoid at all costs!!!!!
