Blonde (2022)
still an eye candy
I have watched lately many documentaries about marilyn and this movie is a little disturbing, especially related to the forced abortions and seen her powerless and without choices for her own life..didn't she have an option, was she desperate looking for men affection because of her loveless childhood abraising...
just image for the men fantasies...is probably a movie with details of her public life and a conjecture of her private life and the men in her life...like most of the biographical movies these days...I feel sad for her. Ana de Armas does a good portayal of Marilyn but the movie is load with unnecesarry nudity.
Wasp Network (2019)
interesting viewpoint
I don't understand the terrible reviews about this films, is it because it deals with political facts from another system alien to americans. Does this movie make them feel unconfortable? I think is always good to see different sides of the story to make our own conclusions. We are so used to listen just to one party, and this story shows the difficulties of the people involved in spionage. If one country has spionage networks on other countries without any legal implication, why a small country cannot do the same when they are planning to take down the system, a system that the people of that nation accepted?
Frozen II (2019)
worth watching it
Either you love it more than the first one ore hated more, there is no in between. the story is not the typical princess disney story and i think the songs are not as good as the first one but i like this movie more. the love between the sisters is still a central topic in this movie, although it focus more on finding a purpose of life, finding oneself.
Joker (2019)
Shocking and outstanding
I did not have high expectations for this film, the trailer did not convince me at all. I just wanted to give it a try. I mean all movies based on villains from comic books have been pretty much trash, and also superhero movies have been using the same old formula without taking new directions. However, this film can be watched by people that don't find interesting the genre. The performance of Joaquin Phoenix in portraying a person with mental illness and how a sick society that does not care for an average person can lead a person to commit crimes is outstanding. Highly recommended.
Death Note (2017)
It is watchable.
I understand this movie is an adaptation of a manga/anime series that is considered to be one of the best in the genre, and I am a huge fan of the anime. However, I would see very difficult to achieve the genius of a series in just 1:40 hours of the movie. Also, this is a movie adaptation, there are different live-action adaptations with Japanese actors that are probably closer tho the manga. As a Hollywood adaptation I considered the movie to be watchable and it does not deserve all the negatives reviews that is receiving. A movie adaptation does not have to be 100% the story in the manga, It will be boring if they try to condensate the whole sequence of the story in a normal time frame for a movie, I think the twist to the story keep me waiting for the next thing to happen.
