Red Dog: True Blue (2016)
Nothing like the original
If your'e looking for a great story like the first red dog movie (which was absolutely great) then nope - nothing at all here.... just a story of some kid ( a story being told by the random father we know nothing about) with red dog before he became "red dog"
The sad part was that i had huge hopes for this one after seeing how great the first Red Dog movie was years ago, but yeah the whole movie i'm expecting it to pick up but it never does, and then after the movie ended well yeah - nothing at all like the original red dog movie - more like a really boring pointless kid's version of the red dog movie without any of the elements that made the first red dog a great movie - like someone else said, the only good actor in the entire movie in my opinion was the actual red dog! - otherwise none of the other characters you really don't know about (or care about) to really enjoy the movie at all....
so yeah... for me, Most disappointing movie of 2016....lol
Zero no tsukaima F (2012)
4 years in the making!
Before beginning this review, as a huge fan of this show, this is a pretty biased review to be honest lol, i watched the first 3 seasons of Zero No Tsukaima back around in 2009/2010 and it became pretty much my favorite anime of all time (and still sits around there to this day) then rewatched the first 3 seasons a couple of times over the years hoping for the 4th and final season to be made, (since i watched them in 2009/2010, i only had to wait 2 out of the 4 total years between the 3rd and 4th season) and then it was made!
Great romance/ecchi/comedy anime, ranks up as my all time favourite anime (tied with Girls Bravo and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood) anyway for me even though the overall plot of season 4 was a bit all over the place and in some cases didn't even make sense, the main romance between louise and saito was the main point imo, and we finally got probably the happiest ending in anime history! :P So in the end for me as a huge Zero No Tsukaima fan, it was great to finally have closure and a great ending to the great series that i really enjoyed for what it was :)
Lost (2004)
All time favourite TV show
Ahhhh Lost....such a controversial show! well not really controversial... just mainly because no one i really know other than my dad and only one other friend ever took the time to watch it fully - everyone else either lost interest, didn't have interest, or just got "Lost" in the storyline - which is probably the most understandable... For me, I watched lost while growing up in primary school AND high school! and while i don't know if new viewers on DVD would still get the feeling of it, but my favourite moments of lost were just the suspense and mystery - i still remember back in 2004 the biggest mystery of lost and TV was what was inside the hatch?? even people who didn't watch the show wanted to know! after finding out what was inside, more and more and more mysteries come, some with simple answers, some complex, some no answers at all! but for me i just always really enjoyed it because it was a very intelligent, thought out, facts based mystery and also character based show, just something i always really enjoyed following and literally growing up watching, a great show and truly my favourite TV show of all time and in my opinion one of the best TV shows ever made :D :P
Toradora! (2008)
Great Anime!!
Probably one of the best and most underrated romance animes of all time! Great plot/storyline, characters, animation, and amazing music! (although will admit i thought they kept the first opening and closings themes for a bit too long into the show, the second opening/closing themes were great!)
Not much else to say other than one other random point - first watched this anime as a younger teenager and sort of overlooked it a bit because i didn't completely understand it (and there wasn't as much ecchi and comedy as other anime i had watched at the time (lol) but after rewatching it a few years later i came to fully understand the story and just how great it was made!.... and now randomly saw it on IMDb so giving it a review :P
Regular Show: The Movie (2015)
Good Movie, but don't get your hopes too high :P
Probably cause I waited around 2 years after hearing about the Regular Show movie, my hopes were really high for this one, but in my opinion it wasn't as good as it could have been, single plot and not so many other characters included besides the park crew of course, in my opinion they could have made a better movie with a story like some of the Regular Show specials they've'e done like "Exit 9B" or the "Thanksgiving special" which are really good and some of my fav episodes, but the Regular Show movie just didn't have that feeling....
In the end I really don't know, I had huge hopes for the movie and was hoping for more characters (again like in Exit 9B - half the characters from the entire show reappear and its a blast seeing them again) but with this one its like ehhh....thats it?
Anyway il'l probably rewatch it some other time but yeah :P Regular Show Specials way better imo :P (and of course the show itself is awesome :P)
Round the Twist (1989)
Great show for some fun relaxing TV
Got the Box Set from the stores a few months ago, remembering how many times i used to watch it as a kid, based off the equally awesome Paul Jennings short stories! :P
Anyway its a great show for a time killer, relaxing, etc, and some episodes (actually a Lot) make you wonder how it actually made it as a kids show LOL (Whirling Dervish probably being the most controversial one haha)
So good fun for kids, teens, young adults, etc, and also pretty cool to see how the show works around the different actors they get - the first original Nell had such a presence on screen that the second one couldn't match with her look so they didn't just try to pretend it was the same actor, equally the first Harold Gribble was a smooth salesman sort of guy, where as the second Harold Gribble was...not so smooth :P
Really Good Show though :D :P
(also worth noting not sure if its just the DVD's I had or the entire Australian release, But one DVD is mis-labelled as Disc One (its actually is disc two though so no need to return it before you check it) And Also the video quality to start off on the Very 1st episode is a bit iffy, but gets a lot better on all the other episodes from memory)
