I wanted to laugh but....
17 February 2024
This was on TV so I thought I would watch for a laugh. I knew it was bad so I was looking forward to a "so bad it's good" evening of chuckles and corny one liners. I was thinking Fast and Furious meets Armageddon. I should have thought 10 year old's space fantasy meets brain lobotomy.

My goodness this is bad film. I mean *really* bad. I've seen thunderbirds episodes with better plot development. I've watch nativity plays with more earnest acting. And I've seen local car garage adverts with better directing.

You would have to be really desperate to watch this but if you find yourself with a spare couple of hours when this comes on WATCH SOMETHING ELSE.

Perfect drama on a difficult subject
8 March 2022
With a cast almost entirely unknown to me (other than Andi McDowell who is excellent but far from centre stage) a story I wasn't sure about (Domestic abuse) set somewhere I know nothing of, I wasn't sure whether this would be the series for me. However every aspect of this ten part series was delivered brilliantly; the acting, the script, the cinematography, and the subject matter - demanding you to pay attention and think about what it must be to be living in desperation and constantly questioning common views of what *is* domestic abuse? Recommended to all.

If this is what the next phase of MCU is all about then I'm out
14 July 2021
There was a real opportunity with this film. It could have been a gritty backstory about a difficult upbringing. That would have been interesting. They could have made Natasha all Jason Borne'd up and showed her dark espionage skills. That would have been interesting. The training of an assassin and the emotional dichotomy of a paid killer. That too would have been interesting.

Instead we got two hours of unimaginite "plot" with phoned in dialogue delivered by bored actors riddled with Clichés and borrowed scenes from other, much better movies (and I bever thought I would say that about Moonraker) . The only respite was being able to giggle at Ray Winstone's pitiful attempt at a Russian Accent. As he would say on the adverts. When the fun stops.... Stop.

Warning: Spoilers
I give up with Ridley Scott Sci Fi.

This series starts well has plenty of scope to play with some interesting concepts even if they aren't particularly original. We have Unquestioned Faith, What it is to be a parent, What it is to be human, Loss, Love, Safety. What we end up with is an android baby, unexplained visions, sudden miricles, and of course a ridiculous flying snake.

I watched the final episode with frequent use of the the FWD button as I just couldn't stand how little sense it was all making. What a complete waste of time! Please don't make a second series.
