The Gathering (1977)
A favorite Christmas movie of mine
I hope it will be shown again this year and maybe released on DVD to honor Ed Asner, who died this weekend.
State of Grace (2001)
I remember how I looked forward to seeing this show each week
Maybe it was a ripoff of The Wonder Years, but it's the only 60s coming-of-age show that I recall that dealt with girls rather than boys. Such a shame it didn't last longer. The two actresses that played the central characters were perfect. I still see Mae Whitman but wonder what happened to the girl who played Hannah. I really hate it when quality shows disappear.
Wild in the Streets (1968)
Loved this movie in 1968!
I would really love to have a copy of this movie to show my children and grandchildren, especially now that we have Donald Trump as president. Want to see if there are as many parallels as I think there are. Does anyone know where I can find it?
Last Man Standing (2011)
This yellow dog Democrat loves this show.
The political stuff is pretty balanced and not offensive, and true to Tim Allen himself, since a lot of his character is autobiographical. He's Archie Bunker with more intelligence and sophistication and empathy. I only started watching last year and didn't expect to like it as much as I do. But there seems to be a lot of turnover, in actors but also a lot of writers. Is there a reason for that? Like many others, I really miss the old Mandy. Not just the actress, although she did a great job, but the character seems to have changed a lot also. But I plan to keep watching.
Testimony of Two Men (1977)
A mini-series from when they were actually series.
I loved this so much when I saw it and have only seen it once. I had a terrible crush on David Birney at the time, which I'm sure colors my opinion of the movie. As historical romances go, I rate it right up there with Gone With The Wind. Please, won't someone make it available on DVD?
Never Too Young (1965)
I used to watch this show!
I was 17 in 1965 and liked this show. I remember one of the actors was Cindy Carol, who played Gidget in "Gidget Goes to Rome." In this show she had long pale blonde hair, worn straight, with bangs that hung below her eyebrows. I wanted hair like that! I remember being surprised that Tommy Rettig was really a brunette! There was a British character named "Alfie" and was played by the guy who later was a love interest for Kirstie Alley on "Cheers." It seems to me that this show came one just before or just after a Dick Clark production called "Where The Action Is" with Paul Revere and the Raiders. Funny, though, I always thought the title of this show was "Because They're Young."
