A hell of a lot of violence for not much payback
15 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Again, I agree with many of the comments here in that the show is uber violent, with really stressful scenes early on but by three quarters way through you realise it was all just for shock value and the writers have no idea what they're doing. All the key female characters are either complete victims, unable to raise a hand in their own defence and denied any moment of retribution, the useless psychologist who really keeps messing things up or a raving looney who amazingly gets away with 20 years of murders, then when caught, just walks out of the police station, kills her accomplice, abducts her victim, drives around for a day or so, kills two cops in their car as they protected a property in case she arrived, has a gun with unlimited bullets...uugh! So annoying. I watched the whole way through waiting for some sort of Buffy fight back moment, but no. Falls apart last two episodes and ends with a whimper. Don't bother!

Made in Italy (2019)

A golden sun flared look at the world of beauty
5 June 2020
A series about a fashion magazine is not something I would normally think I'd like but 'made in Italy' is so much more than I was expecting. It's a glorious and beautifully shot portrait of the role of Italian fashion as a reflection of society, casting it's lead characters as innocent pursuers of modern beauty. The show highlights the changeable dynamics of 1970s politics, makes you fall in love with Milanese architecture but above all, it's a heart-warming ode to friendship in a rapidly changing world. An antidote for today's crazy times...its like a dream of golden sun and corderoy. 😜Everyone's supremely likeable and sickening skinny. Love it and can't wait for the second series.
