Inventing Anna (2022)
So, um, what?
Kinda weird. Story just didn't flow and was too longer . Too much Instagram flashes, showing text messages and annoying/distracting music like amateur production tactics and filler .
Julia Garner was excellent but her accent coach did an abominable job.
I think we all expected the story to be in a certain order, for Anna to be the main draw- not the journalist and her pregnancy.
And by the way, Netflix, seriously the first 3 minutes and you had to bash a Trump. We all noticed and we are offended.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
Boring
Just boring, meh acting, weird casting, dull story. The story was way too simplistic and uninteresting- It was just weird ! Too much wine drinking and sitting by the window..
A Confession (2019)
Excellent depiction of a very sad story
What a horrible true story told very well. Great acting by all. Siobhan Finneran is, as always, outstanding. Martin Freeman also was excellent. The sad story only mad sadder with the vilification of a good cop.
Maid (2021)
Nice story
I was reading the reviews and what struck me was how many people criticized Alex's character for making bad decisions. See, to me, that's what the story is about. It's not wrong- it is the story! She was raised by two kooks so she doesn't know how to make good choices. Anyway, I think Qualley does an outstanding performance- truly nails it. Some say she was bland- her character copes with life by staying low-key. Her acting is awesome if you pay attention to her subtleties.
All that said, writers these days are getting lazy by doing long songs where there should be story. Also, Maddy does great, but she just doesn't look like she's related to her parents. The part of Paula was so over the top - actually ridiculous.. and Andie is a good actress but her director got that wrong.
Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror (2021)
What a surprise
Timed just right to go with the insane leftist political climate. Leave it to Hollywood to exploit the single worst day in American history.
Brothers & Sisters (2006)
Was this a musical?
Background music is effective and can set the mood. This show's music was like a competition!
Besides that annoying thing, this show is like so predictable and actually boring.
Instinct (2018)
10 minutes in
And there she was.. the princess of hate (the queen being joyless behar). No thank you.. I prefer to enjoy the work of kind people.
Chernobyl (2019)
Perfectly executed
The acting is astounding- especially Harris. Chilling story told in a compassionate and interesting way.
The Lie (2018)
Wow- so awful
Three good actors and y'all got nothing right. Maybe the worst plot/writing I've seen all year.. and this is 2020 so you know how much tv I've watched.
The writers and directors of this movie should really think about how they wasted the time of so many innocent people.
Reckoning (2019)
YOU RUINED ANOTHER SHOW
Seriously, the hate from the left is exhausting and just permeates every thing they do. I'm sure they think by doing little digs in their shows, they believe the illusion will be that to hate our President is a part of the normal culture and conversation. It's so transparent, insulting and pathetic..
so, back to the Reckoning: acted out like a cheap Lifetime movie and annoying soundtrack. It was tolerable until the hate bomb. Then, I turned it off.
Vida (2018)
Oh the hate again
Take a fun show and stir in your hateful, anti-American agenda AGAIN. Oh Hollywood- your opinions are NOT important to everyone.
Boss (2011)
MIXED BAG
Story is good. Chicago is beautiful. Mostly good acting. The anger scenes were overdone and the nightly sex scenes were so contrived. Ms Nielsen's subtle Finnish accent and Ware's poorly concealed British accent (and rather amateur acting) were so unconvincing as Chicago natives.
Meet the Trumps: From Immigrant to President (2017)
Better title: Hollywood hates Trump
Yeah, we already know that. All nasty 'facts'. I so would love to see a 'documentary' with just nasty stuff on some of you Tinseltown folks. Now, THAT would be entertaining.
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016)
Umm.. what?
If I hadn't known what the story was about, I would have no idea what the plot was. No idea.
Ok, the acting was great and the cinematography was good.
But.. The directing was abysmal... difficult to understand the mumbling dialogue, hard to decipher who was who and who was where. Stir in overkill battle scenes. 2 of the 3 of us watching fell asleep. Such a great story ruined by such a bad storyteller.
Madam Secretary (2014)
You're killing me!
Such a fun show the first four seasons. Daly and Leoni were our celebrity crush couple- so smart, nice parents, so thoughtful.
Then, the Hollywood indoctrination season started- with freakin' Hillary? Really? We are turning your campaign OFF. We wanted entertainment, not political crap.
Designated Survivor (2016)
Supremely bad writing and casting
Obvious liberal agenda.. so contrived.
Awful casting.. the wife and son are amusingly wrong. All on the WH staff are cast wrong except Penn.
We watch the show because Maggie Q is cool (even though she has to do everything) and to note all the writing errors. Pretty pathetic. And liberal- not in a good way.
Bloodline (2015)
Almost every episode was perfect
SPOILER ALERT *
With the exception of the last 2 episodes, I thought this series was just wonderful. The story was so juicy and I never found myself thinking "oh brother, that's not right/possible/plausible. The directing, casting, acting etc was really spot on.
Biggest kudos to Kyle Chandler. Brilliant acting. They were all good, but Kyle was truly brilliant.
Tin Star (2017)
4 stars only because of the acting
The story idea was cool and unique. 1. Roth's part was uber maverick to the point of being ridiculous. 2.So many holes in the story it gave me a headache. 3. Silly me watched the whole thing.. and I have a question: did no one with the show not notice that the last four episodes could have been condensed into 30 minutes? It was obvious there was nothing to do but stare at the actors!? What a sorry ending- really.. watching Roth walk up and down the road for 30 minutes.

Mr Selfridge (2013)
What a wonderful story!
I thought the story was a great one. The casting was great except for the 2 silly secretaries and the annoying Delphine. And I must say I was only intrigued by Pivens during the first episode but I soon decided he was actually just perfect. I really enjoyed his interpretation and execution.
Safe (2018)
A fun who- dunit
Fun plot, good casting and MCH does a great job with the accent (haters will not-pick but it's a super hard thing to change your accent and he did very well). Harlan Coben is such a great storyteller and this was just enjoyable.
The Killing (2011)
Seriously outstanding
Deep and dark and always raining. This is like a good book sitting in your cozy chair with hot cocoa. It's so well done.
The West Wing (1999)
A fun, long ride
Totally enjoyed this series and loved the whole cast. Genius
Intelligence (2005)
Pretty good everything.. but
Great acting for the most part, great plot (albeit so many obvious inconsistencies).. but for me, this was the worst. soundtrack. Ever. Music didn't match any scene, music timing stunk, music was wrong wrong all the time and became annoying and distracting.
