Bhuj: The Pride of India (2021)
A combination of action scenes - Clumsy VFX work
This is one of the worst screenplays you'll ever see. There is no effort to involve the audience, at all. You feel nothing for the characters on screen. Lead actors mouth dialogues like they are reciting some poem. Ajay Devgan still seems to be in the hangover of Tanhaji. Sadly, few scenes that are supposed to be super intense, actually turn out to be funny. If you love meaningless action (not so good vfx), with hyper nationalistic dialogues, then this movie is for you.
Soorarai Pottru (2020)
Hits all the right cords.
The movie was so good that I found myself literally sobbing during few scenes. This is a must watch. The pace of the movie seems to be dull in few parts but the over all this movie is a breath of fresh air. Surya is back in form. And hats off to director for pulling this off in such a nice manner.
Saaho (2019)
No Story. Only Action. Extremely disappointing.
So I watched SAAHO yesterday. What a complete waste of time and money. Nothing new. If you are a movie lover and watch lot of movies, you can easily guess all the many twists and turns in the movie. Entire plot is predictable.
It's true that the movie has beautiful locations, special effects but they don't add any value without a proper story.
This is just a boring movie with too much action and no story, similar to the likes of 2.0 and Race 3.
You can skip this movie. You won't regret not watching it.
Dear Comrade (2019)
Not a routine movie
Most of the fans would expect this to be a full on action drama or involving military or police due to the name "Dear Comrade". It's not.
The movie is not your routine Telugu movie. Music and songs are superb. The movie lags a little bit. Editor could have done a better job. Could have been cut short by 20 minutes.
However, movie makes up for the lag in the climax and last 30 minutes of the movie.
It gives a strong message and shows the problems faced by women.
Over all, it's a decent watch. Just don't go expecting something like Arjun Reddy.
All the actors have justified their roles perfectly. Music is awesome. I believe the movie will definitely become a hit in Tamil and Malayalam as they love reality based movies. Not so sure about the fate of the film in Telugu.
Arjun Reddy (2017)
A cult classic. This movie will be remembered for a long time.
Arjun Reddy strikes all the right cords, especially with the youth. The agony of lost love, the pain it brings and the hot blooded days of youth. The movie will surely remind you of your lost love. And the dialogues with a slight local slang and the dialogue delivery by Vijay Deverakonda is bound to get a lot of cheers and whistles from the audience. Over all, Arjun Reddy can be named as an all time blockbuster and pretty sure it will be looked up to as a cult classic after a decade.
Gully Boy (2019)
A breath of fresh air.
I'm not that in to rap and had zero expectations from this movie. I watched this movie after one week of it's release and I wish that I had watched it sooner. I wouldn't say that this is a masterpiece, however the movie manages to strike all the right cords with the audience, especially the youth, who struggle to pursue their passion. Ranveer as Murad, and Alia as Safeena spellbound you with their performances. This is a sure shot hit.
This movie is a breath of fresh air, after the disappointing and meaningless movies by the three khans last year. So, go catch this one. You won't be disappointed.
La La Land (2016)
Loved it - Before watching the audience must remember that it's a musical.
I never liked musicals. But trust me , this one made me change my mind. Everything is just so magical. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone's chemistry is a treat to watch, just so mesmerizing, making the audience to believe that fairy tales do exist.
But then life happens. Each becomes preoccupied in achieving their dreams. The movie clearly depicts the fact that you have to make some heart breaking sacrifices to make your dreams come true.
I hope Emma & Ryan will win an Oscar for their terrific performances. I would like to tell the audience who wants to watch this movie after reading amazing reviews, just do remember it's a musical.
