The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Surprised by some of the negativity
This movie was actually quite intelligent and entertaining. Looking at some of the reviews I have no idea what some people were expecting. You can't re-wrap the same old thing after 20 years, that's why this take on the original trilogy was clever and action packed . Will watch it again.
Making Their Mark (2021)
Fantastic series and inspirational speeches
Admittedly I am a fan of AFL and therefore I understand much of that going ons When perhaps those who are somewhat unfamiliar with the sport may have some difficulty following. But take the technical side of the sport aside for a moment and you see the hardship of players families and staff behind the scenes. This could be any sport. It could've so easily have been NFL or NBA or one of the European soccer leagues. Even as a business person you can take so much away from the words that come out of some of these coaches and how they inspire their players or really how they inspire their staff. You see what it means when they say mind over matter and how it can affect your work and try and find a way how to build yourself back up again. Above all this series shows about never giving up. Ever
Bliss (2021)
Selma & Owen are on fire
Don't Underestimate this movie and most certainly don't underestimate the performances of Owen and Selma. What is real or what isn't, the movie has you guessing all the way through and honestly I still don't know. What I do know is that this movie touches on mental illness in a way that we have never really understood before. When we see the homeless on the street talking to themselves and acting in ways that make us uncomfortable we have absolutely no idea what is going on in their heads. This movie is a fantastic interpretation of that. It's really worth the watch.
Irresistible (2020)
For lovers of Behind the scenes of campaigns
John Stewart again exposes the ease of how American politics can so easily be corrupted. Definitely a funny movie perhaps not as funny as, 'the campaign' with Will Farrells slapstick style of comedy but a more subtle humor using real smarts and real life strategies. Without giving away anything the movie is basically an eye-opener to how corrupt the American political system of campaigning can be. I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to anybody that loves The drama of American politics as much as I do regardless if you're red, blue or somewhere in between
The Young Turks (2005)
The truth hurts but must be told
I got hooked on this show since 2013. Super impressed with the honesty coming out of this sensational real news group.
Den of Thieves (2018)
Butler at his best ever
This is one of those great movies where The lines are sometimes blurred between who are the good guys and who are the bad. Probably in a similar tradition of the movie Heat.
A solid cast with some really solid performances
The Liberator (2020)
It's a must watch
While most people are talking about the Animation of this series (which I ended up Appreciating it far more than I thought) The storyline is just brilliant. There are lots of great war movies out there and this I will say is one of them. It has hooked from the very first episode right through to the last. This is really a must watch a true positive experience
Doomsday (2008)
Not sure what I watched really
A dash of contagion, a dash of world war Z, and a big slice of Mad Max all rolled into one. It could've been a wonderful soufflé, but turned out more like an expensive dogs breakfast. I watched it to the end and still have no real solid idea of what the aim of this movie was about.
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2020)
Pure courage
I can watch a horror movie almost without flinching because I know it's not real. I can appreciate the art of it. But with this movie, nope. I cover my eyes as I see some of the REAL events unfold in front of me. I'm laughing but I'm horrified at the same time. How these guys pull off why they do takes courage. ALLOT of courage.
The Morning Show (2019)
Reece, Jennifer and Steve knocked it out of the park
As the heading suggests the performs each surprised me and if there was any questions about each of their acting range or rather limits of capabilities of roles, this has answered. The three of them dominate and compliment each other at the same time. The characters each give such a realistic portrayal of what may happen behind the Scenes of a news network. The politics, the drama, the Racism & the sexism, all behind the smoke screen that we the viewers see on air. The bigger story here and one that is perhaps less transparent but still addressed is the problem with TV media as a whole and it's inability to address real issues.
This is a fantastic series to watch and one I'm thoroughly enjoying
Freaks - Du bist eine von uns (2020)
It's not too bad ..... I guess
The storyline actually has some promise but unfortunately it's the delivery of the movie as a whole which has let it down. Probably a budget thing or perhaps more to do with the writing and directing not really sure. Overall the movie was OK to watch but a very low budget movie that's for sure. It's one of those movies you wanna watch when there's nothing else on
Cobra Kai (2018)
Much better than I thought. It's fantastic
I thought this would turn out to be a lame remake or retake on the original 1st movie night n a series form. Well. Was I surprised. The storyline is like a fist fighting version of dynasty. Really fun to watch. The casual links to the 80s music and connection between movie and new series are well done. In this series it's difficult to identify who is the bad guy. Many miss understandings make you wanna rip into the TV screen and shake sense into them all. The audiences really connects well the characters. You'll have fun watching this
Line of Duty (2019)
Not a bad B grade movie
It's was entertaining and the storyline was pretty good but this movie would've done a lot better in the hand of a good director. Some unfortunate cheesy lines and special effects were questionable.
It's worth a watch if you're happy to not have to think too hard
The Hunt (2020)
Weird Political role reversal
Overall fun to watch with plenty of action from the get go. Good vs Evil but with a political twist. It's the Liberal left that are the bad guys hunting the far right rednecks for sport. The only audience who may actually take this for real are Fox News viewers. Anyway... all in fun
Yellowstone (2018)
Best Role for Kevin
The series is addictive to watch and a really great storyline. This is the best role I've ever seen Kevin play. Outstanding performances from many others too.
Downhill (2020)
I was really looking forward to this but......
Very disappointing as far as comedy is concerned. This was a relationship drama of sorts. The storyline was actually ok but don't call it a comedy because I didn't laugh once, nor did anyone else watching it with me. We waited for a laugh but nope.... it never came. Actually we kinda got into it because of the 'cringe factor' . Got sort of intense
The Last Dance (2020)
A must watch for any sports fan
It's more than just about an extraordinary athlete. This is simply amazing to watch. In a time before social media this mans skills, energy and drive have NEVER been seen before and doubtful it will ever to be seen again
Lost in London (2017)
Well worth the watch
Just on effort alone and the fact that you probably will NEVER see a movie made like this. All in one continuous shot. This was a great story told in a way I never thought possible. Well done to all involved for hitting this one out of the park.
Cockneys vs Zombies (2012)
Poor in quality, storyline & predictable. I LOvE IT
Just a fun horror/slasher movie. Nothing complicated but has some very funny scenes.
I would've loved to be an extra on this set
The Young Turks (2005)
The truth hurts but must be told
I got hooked on this show since 2013. Super impressed with the honesty coming out of this sensational real news group.
The Wog Boy (2000)
Worse Australian Movie
I don't know where to start. Some of the most pathetic performances and story line I've ever seen.
Back in the days of VHS stores it was the only one that I returned asking if I could have a refund. And I've seen some stupid movies
Yellowstone (2018)
Best Role for Kevin
The series is addictive to watch and a really great storyline. This is the best role I've ever seen Kevin play. Outstanding performances from many others too.
Norbit (2007)
Worth the watch. Good laugh too
I know the ratings are low and it's difficult to get good ratings on most comedies BUT I've seen this about three times now. I liked it. Had some good laughs from it which are difficult to get from most comedies. So yes... give it a go. Good fun.
"HOW YOUUUU DOIN?"
GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (2012)
Must watch for fans of the series GLOW
I watch three seasons of Glow not realizing that it was all based on a true story. Had a smile from ear to ear watching this. Great insight into the real Glow and the inspiration behind the recent series. This documentary looks back more than 20 years after the show finished. The highs, lows and all the dramas in between.
Waiting... (2005)
Never mistreat the staff at a restaurant
While exaggerated.. it's still a Great insight into what happens behind the scenes in a restaurant full of young staff.
Overall the movie is somewhat fun to watch with lots of quick-bit humor but can't say there was any standout moments that you can tale away with you and tell your friends. Reynolds held this movie together. Honestly without him my score would've been much lower.
