Blood of Zeus (2020– )

Felt promising yet disappointed.
14 November 2020
A story starts with a very promising premise but as you continue watching the series it starts feeling stretched out and quite bland. The characters are well written and yet even by the end of the show you don't feel attached to them, they feel hollow for the most part.

I am quite sure this seemed like a gem on paper but due to poor execution, it doesn't quite reach its full potential even by the end of the show.

I suggest you skip this one and maybe look for another anime.

You can't find a better Drama Series.
4 November 2020
This show was by far the best series on Netflix in 2020. The writing is phenomenal every episode was an amazing journey in itself. Hats of to director Scott Frank for doing a marvellous job and keeping every episode exciting you don't have to be good at chess to enjoy the show just the basics should be fine. The shows cinematographer Steven Meizler has done an amazing job student can be tough the art of cinematographer just studying this show it's beautiful.

I challenge you to find a flaw in this show!

Could have been a great mini-series!
22 October 2020
Okay so for some reason this show is hyped as if it's the best possible thing to watch.

My opinion the show is good it's in no ways bad but it suffers from pacing issues, and also Netflix had 3 hours to tell this story that's a very long time and the show does feel dragged. Every episode could have been 40 to 45 minutes long but it always overstays it's welcome and that's why by the end of the episode you kind of feel unattached to the story.

The true-life incident which they have covered is excellent it is one of those instances where you can say that "reality at times is more shocking than fiction", but the approach they took was kind of disappointing! This could have been an amazing mini-series based on a true story maybe 4 to 6 episodes long like Chernobyl but they went with the documentary-style it's a shame that they wasted a perfectly good story.

Project Power (2020)

Wasted potential
14 August 2020
I was expecting this movie to be a marvellous sci-fi action movie which is dark and uses its R rating to its advantage, but it was a huge disappointment the action scenes are executed poorly you barely understand what's happening and the movie doesn't feel mature because of a Dominique Fishback's character Robin whereas she does best with what she was given to be truthful but the writing for her character (basically she is that annoying kid who goes places where they are not supposed to).

I don't know how Netflix can get such star power Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt they are the reason why I thought this movie is going to be something great. Also, Casey Neistat has a cameo in this movie which I was excited for and he is in an action scene which was probably the worst action scene which I have seen in a while.

All in all, this movie doesn't deliver you don't get a single good action scene, the characters don't feel fleshed out and they wasted something that could have been a good concept and if executed well we could have had an excellent sci-fi action movie.

Go ahead and watch it!
9 August 2020
This is one of the best movies I have watched in a while. I have never watched a UFC fight or WWE in my life so I am not really into boxing but this movie gets you I was on the edge of my seat, for the most part, I don't even remember how man times I had Goosebumps watching this movie and by the end of the movie I almost had tears in my eyes. This movie is a treat!

Let's talk about the characters in the movie Tom Hardy was a force not to wrack with by the end of the movie, you are almost scared for the person who fights him and in addition to that, he hardly talks which makes him even scarier. Joel Edgerton is likeable you want him to succeed and it's easy to connect with his character.

The movie is very well written and has really good performances and I highly recommend everyone to watch this movie.

Trust me it's awesome.

Sequel? No thanks.
4 August 2020
Sharlto Copley is one of the major reasons why this movie works so well right from the beginning he is very likeable as a character you feel emotionally connected to him and that keeps you invested in the story throughout. The story is unique but like most of the alien movies, this too has a military storyline going on which doesn't feel forced but that is once aspect of this movie which is not unique. But overall the movie comments on how mankind is selfish and how a few individuals are blinded by their desire for power. The ending of this movie will leave you wanting for more but do I want a sequel? Probably no because I guess I am satisfied with its uncertain end.

Can Jacob be defended?
26 May 2020
Defending Jacob is a murder mystery. It is shown to us from the perspective of the family of the accused. Jacob Barber is an 8th grader accused of stabbing his classmate to death. Now we are not sure if he did it or not. There are quite of few people who could have done it but the is strong evidence again Jacob only.

The show also shows us how difficult it is for the family of this kid to perform their daily chores. There are times when his parents think that maybe the evidence is right and maybe it was their son who did it.

The show does get a lot of things right we always understand the character motives. The show is also beautifully shot. The soundtrack is also excellent.

All in all, I strongly suggest people watch this show it is really interesting and yes it is slow-paced but it does manage to keep you on the edge of your seat for the last few episodes.

Surprisingly good!

Oh my god! I never expected for this movie to be so good, it is amazing not only kids but adults can also have a pleasant time watching this movie.

It has the characters from our childhood so it can hard to deal which such characters but I have to say they delivered.

Even the plot is entertaining and characters are well written there is also a superhero in this movie who just might becoming once of your favourite characters.

Doesn't deliver.
24 April 2020
The only reason people are going to watch this movie is Chris Hemsworth, that's easily the greatest selling point for this movie.

The performances are really good the entire cast has done a wonderful job at bringing these characters to life. The action is great but it is one of those movies which look good and seem very promising but do not deliver. The characters feel almost hollow for the most part.

The only character who had some back story was Randeep Hooda (Saju) he is the only one whose actions feel appropriate in the given situation. You don't get why Chris Hemsworth's character is trying so hard to save this kid there was no reason for him to try so hard. The story kind of feels forced at times.

All in all, the movie is fine you might have a good time watching it but due to poor writing and hollow characters, the movie just feels flat.

Fun, entertaining and chilled out.
21 April 2020
It's a hilarious presentation of how a few chilled-out zombies spend their life in the modern world.

Most of the episodes are entertaining and pleasant, but a few episodes are dull.

Overall it's an enjoyable show.

The Platform (2019)
9/10
Looking for something unique? Watch this!
21 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The Platform is a movie like no other it's an original idea! It's unique in the best of the ways.

The movie is about a vertical prison which is of 333 floors with 2 cells mates on each floor. The food is served on a floating slab that gradually descents each level, the people on the lower floors are supposed to eat leftovers and once the slab passes 50 to 80 floors there is no food left at all. The people just die out of hunger and a few manage to kill their cellmate and feed on them.

There is no hero in this story or a villain. The characters in this movie are very well written. Trimagasi was someone who had been in prison for almost a year so he knows the struggle, unlike Goreng. But very soon Goreng learns that Trimagasi was right it's the kind of situation where you either kill or get killed. Another character in the movie which has a lot more meaning then it meets the eye was Miharu the Japanese meaning of this word is to guard or watch over and this is exactly what she was doing watching over her kid, in the beginning, it made no sense kids were not allowed in this hell hole but eventually we learn that the kid was there all along and all she was try to say as much food as possible so it could reach on the floors below (hoping something might just get to her kid).

The movie also shows that the people who have it all are never going to care about people below them. On floor Zero, people were so wrapped up in the production of the food and just dealing with their jobs that they had no idea what was going on underneath. Just like that, people on the above floors didn't care about anyone below them. Even someone as small as Trimagasi who was on floor 47 (probable) at the beginning of the movie, resenting both those above him and below him. And people who were on the floor which didn't get any food they were looked over by everyone just like how in society we sometimes don't even think of those so down below us (financially).

All in all, this is an excellent movie if you sit and take some time understanding the meaning behind everting and also if that's no you, you don't want to study movie even then it's a very unique movie just watch it for its originality and you will have a good time.

For a zombie movie, this was unique.
20 April 2020
This movie is unique when it comes to zombie outbreak movies. We are kicked into the plot right from the beginning, the movie is fast-paced and has a more realistic approach to the pandemic.

Unlike most movies where they fight hundreds or thousands of zombies in the climax, this one does something totally different and it's unpredictable which I really appreciate. You will find yourself at the edge of your seat most of the times and the action sequences are handled really well but it could have been better if they went for an R rating for this movie.

Batman fan? Hope you watch this.
18 April 2020
If you are a Batman fan, you have to watch this documentary. It shows how Bob Kane took all the credit for the character which he didn't make and how the original creator of our beloved charter was underpaid and never given the credit he deserved. It is a tragic story of a man who might have been forgotten by history if a few people didn't continue to fight for him even after his death.

Kingdom (2019–2020)

An incredible journey worth every minute.
17 April 2020
The kingdom is one of the best shows made in recent times. It is very well-paced and keeps you invested in the storyline.

The fight for the throne and a zombie attack it kind of feels like what Game of Thrones tried to do with a similar situation where they had white walkers but unlike the game of thrones where they built up the white walkers thing for so long and we never got a pay-off here, we get to see them battle the zombies.

Even the fight for the throne is an interesting storyline. We as the viewers are shown how the lives of the people are affected when someone vicious is on the throne and that's why it feels necessary to get someone new on the throne.

The show keeps you on the end of your seat most of the times and wondering what is going to happen next. The action sequences are handled well throughout the show.

Hope you give this show a try as it's really good and probably better than anything that Hollywood is offering as of now.

You have to watch this!
15 April 2020
A beautifully well-written show, backed with an amazing cast. Fleabag is a show like none other it's really funny, it's unique and shows a relationship between two sisters one messed up and the other one totally opposite. There are moments in the show which you will love and want more of. The show only has two seasons which can be completed in no time and trust me on this you are gonna miss the show and just feel sad that you won't get to see how the life of these characters continue. It is a joyful ride and a must-watch.

Not worth your time.
11 April 2020
I haven't watched the original Lion King (1994) so to me, this was almost like watching a new movie. And yes I am quite sure the original is much better as it was animated when we could see the emotions of animals. This movie was excellent when it comes to CGI every shot feels photorealistic. Once you move on from that fact that what you are seeing is beautiful the movie just has nothing to offer I was bored for the most part while watching this movie. The most fun I had was when Timon and Pumbaa showed up. I really never felt any connection with our main characters. It was just like things were happening and I was not really curious to know where the story goes.

Aladdin (2019)

Satisfying fun light-hearted.
11 April 2020
I haven't watched the original Aladdin (1992) so for me, this was almost a new story. I enjoyed watching this movie, for the most part, it was funny, exciting and it looks beautiful. The costumes design was beautiful and even the songs were delightful they never felt forced. This is also a very unique Guy Ritchie movie his movies usually don't have such tones and I feel satisfied by his direction I probably don't have any complaints there. This movie for some reason has very unconvincing CGI the Genie just looked awful and even the whole kingdom looked cartoonish in a few frames. All in all, I feel this is the kind of movie you can watch with your loved ones or alone and just have a good time.

Hannibal (2013–2015)

Hannibal the cannibal. This show is phenomenal!
9 April 2020
Hannibal, this show is perfect! The writing of this show just blows my mind every single character is unpredictable, the choices they make and the way this show unravels is flawless. Dr Hannibal Lecter is the kind of person you are supposed to hate but I find my self sympathising for him I feel sad when the things are not going well for him or when he is hurt and all the credit goes to the writers they did an amazing job of writing this character he truly was unpredictable, even by the end of season 3 I just couldn't figure out if I could trust him or not. Will Graham is also very well fleshed out as a character and throughout the run of this show, all I was wishing was that he doesn't die. These two characters are truly the way Dr Bedelia describes them "Can't live with him. Can't live without him." When these two characters are together it just makes you feel happy even though their friendship is toxic it just feels right every time they reunite.

About the show now, It is a masterpiece. There is a lot of violence and gore throughout the show and its heart-wrenching. Throughout the three seasons of this show, I constantly found myself at the edge of the seat and just restless. There are a few episodes which are hard to watch the gravity of violence hits you.

Season 1 is all of setting up the world and making us familiar to the characters and Season 2 is where the show is at its peak the incidents that happen in season 2 are incredible. Finally, the Season 3 of this show is very slow-paced it might get a little boring in the beginning but trust me as the story progress it gets exciting and the finale of this show is not disappointing you feel like you have had a journey and also a bit sad that the show is over.

All in all, this is an excellent show the writing, action sequences everything is handled with a lot of attention to detail.

Well, it wasn't disappointing.
8 April 2020
So this might be surprising but I haven't watched the original Beauty and the beast (1991) so for me, this was kind of a new story I was only aware of the fact that the king was cursed for some reason. This 2017 live-action retelling of the classic was beautiful the set design, clothes and overall feel of the movie was great. Sadly, in the beginning, a few songs didn't land properly and it just gets me out of the movie a few times. Other than that the CGI face of the beast was at times distracting but it isn't really an issue. All in all, I enjoyed the movie it has a few strong characters and a world which was fun visiting.

Game of Thrones (2011–2019)

A journey that never pays off
8 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Game of Thrones was an amazing show! The characters are well fleshed out you understand everyone's motives. One character, in particular, Jaime Lannister he went from being someone you are supposed to hate and someone who is not trustworthy to be one of the most beloved characters you feel sad for him, you want him to succeed, and achieve whatever he wants by the end of the show that's really good character writing. All the other characters also had amazing journeys Theon Greyjoy for one had a very sad journey and when it comes to Sansa Stark she was a kid at the beginning of the show and you see her journey to becoming a strong woman. My point is almost all the characters were great! The CGI for dragons was breathtaking it is probably the best CGI dragon I have ever seen. But now let's talk about the issues with the show:One of my biggest complaint with the show is that why did they build-up White walkers for so long (literally for 7 seasons) and then there was no payoff to that it's like they came destroyed a few small villages and a war at Winterfell and that's all!? Arya Stark does all this training which went on for something like 2 seasons was for the most part useless she never used her training what was all that build-up for when you are never going to do anything about it!?Tyrion Lannister now another character who for no reason all of a sudden became dum in last two season.Cersei Lannister now another character who was supposed to be an antagonist had no pay-offs in season 8 you get to see her for like one episode! All in all Game of Thrones sets up amazing ideas for its future instalments but instead in absolutely fails at doing justice to the show and we can a very disappointing season 8 which just feels like it was not worth watching 7 seasons of this show as we literally get no pay-off whatsoever. Season 1 to Season 7 (9/10) Season 8 (4/10)

A mediocre sequel
7 April 2020
So we finally get the second instalment and I was very excited to watch this movie. Sadly it doesn't deliver there are set pieces(Ostrich chase and the ladder maize thing) in the movie which get you excited and maybe make you cheer for the characters. The movie has an awesome cast but a very weak plot which just doesn't stick with you. Anyways, in the end, we do get a mid-credits scene which has already shown us what to expect from the next instalment.

It's hilarious it's perfect for a Saturday night!
7 April 2020
So I had been waiting for a very long time to watch this movie, and finally, when I did watch the movie I was blown away! It's the kind of movie you should watch with a bunch of friends on a Saturday night with pizzas and drinks. The movie doesn't take itself very seriously it know it's over the top and that's why it works. I would suggest everyone watch this movie! And for sure you are gonna have a good time.

Goodbye to the characters we have loved.
2 April 2020
A satisfying end to all the characters we have loved watching on the big screen. That said the movie is not that impressive you might have a good time watching it but overall the movie fails to present any new ideas and there are moments when you might find youself waiting for the movie to end.

22 February 2020
This is probably the most under-rated show ever! I haven't heard anyone talk about it or the show making any kind of buzz online but I have to say the out of the box ideas and stunning looks of the show and the story telling everthing was just perfect. A few episodes didn't land properly but other than that the show manges to blow your mind in every single episoed. Considering most episodes are of 20 minutes only and yet they mange to blow your mind thats just great. I have immense respect for this show!
