Intouchables (2011)
I LOVED IT!
One of my favourite movies of all time, defiantly amongst my top 10. Foreign films have some of the best stories you will ever see. I RECOMMEND THIS FILM HIGHLY. if you don't like subtitled movies don't be a wuss watch this film.
Gisaengchung (2019)
WOW
One of the greatest screenplays I have ever seen wow just wow.
Batman Begins (2005)
BEST BATMAN ORIGIN STORY
Batman Begins follows the story of Bruce Wayne as he dives deep into the criminal underworld to better understand the minds of criminals whiles conquering his own fears. I loved this film. it does something many batman story don't do which is dive deep into Bruce Waynes psyche, how driven he is to achieve justice and help his city, Gotham. Another thing I loved about this movie is seeing how he becomes Batman, showing the Vigorousness of his training and what he had to go through to become the famous masked crusader. I loved Christian Bale as Batman and THE BEST ALFRED OF ALL TIME, Michael Caine. The rest of the supporting casts did brilliantly from Cillian Murphy to Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman,Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman (Best commissioner Gordon), everyone did very well and this ensemble of actors brings this original story to life and behind the brilliant Mr Nolan, you get a nothing short but Brilliance.
I Am Number Four (2011)
I have always Loved this Movie
I am number four follows the story of a young boy and his protector; John Smith and Henri. These two are from another planet called Lorien and they are in hiding, among them are others from their planet as-well with their own protectors. These kids have special abilities they have inherited from their parents and they are being hunted by a race called "Mogadorians". These "Dogs" decimated Lorien and are now on earth tracking these kids in order. They have managed to kill the first three and now they search for number four. I liked it this movie, LOVED actually. I have seen this film a lot over the years and the re-watchable value of is high, very high. It has its problems of course but I liked it. Sad there wasn't a sequel to this but hey you never know what the future has install for us. I have not read the books but I will check them out one day and one more the end battle is pretty cool and its conclusion with the song choice by civil twilight is perfection. I would also like to complete the score, its peaceful and complements the environment of the story. It's a good film and I think it's hard not to love it even.
Safe House (2012)
Potential for a trilodgy.
A CIA agent named Matt Weston is put in charge of a former Ex agent named Tobin Frost after his safe house gets raided by unknown gunmen and through Tobin, Matt learns about corruption from the top down in other intelligent agencies around the world. This film was good. The performances from Mr Washington and Mr Reynolds were well done and the other supporting cast were good. Exposing one of the corrupt agents was obvious but I do think if there was a sequel it would have been better than this in terms of exposing the corruption and expanding on it. You could have the main character, Matt on the run as he has exposed the files and "these corrupt individuals are tracking him" and he goes to Paris to track his girlfriend and protect her due to her relationship with him. It would have been a nice sequel to explore, even a trilogy. I think this film was good enough to expand on further but with that being said, I enjoyed this film.
The Edge of Seventeen (2016)
You Are Truly Never Alone
This story speaks a lot about grief and loneliness and its evident after Nadine's best-friend starts dating her brother. What is good about this story is your never truly alone when dealing with loss of a parent or friend etc. There's always people out there who have or are going through the same things you are. The Cast did their job, Woody Harrelson character was my favourite. The main character herself Nadine I liked, actress Hailee Steinfeld did very well and the rest were good aswell.
Good film for all teenagers who feel lonely or have gone through a semblence of grief in their lives, will connect with this film.
Freedom Writers (2007)
YOU CAN CHANGE
This movie is FANTASTIC. You know it's really eye-opening to find so many stories out there of people who's lives, whose light has shined on many lives. This movie had inspired me that you can change no matter your circumstance, you can make it. The injustices of this world happen all around us and if you can make a stand and be different you shed a light for many others to follow. Hilary Swank, I just became a big fan of yours and to the rest of the cast who did brilliantly and to the director and screenwriter I say THANK YOU. To the freedom writers, you have shed a light on my life and that means a lot so thank you.
Meet Joe Black (1998)
πππππ
LOVED THIS FILM POINT BLANK. Easily one of my favourite Brad Pitt film if nlty favourite. Claire Forlani and Brad Pittπππ
A Knight's Tale (2001)
A Man can change his stars
I have always liked this film. It's fun and entertaining and inspiring. I wish some of the sword scenes we're better to be honest. It just seemed basic other than that it was well done.
Robin Hood (2010)
THE LEGEND
First of all the main score is Beautiful. It reflects who Robin Hood is. The movie was Good. The side characters are great as well, they fit Robins mystique. I don't know much about Robins Hoods lore but I sure liked this film. Everyone did good with what they were given. At the heart of this film is "freedom" and I think the ending of this film illustrates that.
The Prestige (2006)
JUST INCREDIBLE
Christopher Nolan is my favourite director, he loves messing with people's minds. His movies especially the endings, he always leaves them for interpretations leaving you talking and talking about them. The Prestige is a story about two rival magicians trying to find each other's secrets. The themes are strong in this film such as rivalry, obsession, love, commitment and sacrifice. The secret in this film is the dialogue. You have to pay complete attention otherwise you miss out. It's well-acted, well-directed, excellent dialogue and well crafted. What else can you say about Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, there are geniuses. A+ Film
Joker (2019)
MASTERPIECE
Joker is a story of what happens to a man who is beaten and given up by society and sometimes society creates monsters. I know this is a deeply character-driven story about the Joker and I believe in my heart Todd Phillips did very well. The Joker doesn't have a definite origin story but this was well executed. The score is fantastic, it's shot beautifully and Mr Phoenix gives a memorable performance for all time. Masterpiece is what I call this film π
The King (2019)
AWESOME
The King is one of my favourite films from last year and I love this movie. The score is fantastic. I like the theme behind this film as well which is be careful who you surround yourself with and in this case, King Henry became like his father, he didn't intend to be like him but due to personal agendas and glory from members in his court, he was deceived into being a reflection of his father. The dialogue was superb and it's beautifully shot. Can't recommend it enough.
