Humorous and very silly but it's also deep and dark in places. It's almost two different nfilms mixed in to one. Definitely worth a watch though as there's some great laugh out loud bits.

I thought this would be one of those English multi-part gritty crime dramas but unfortunately not. It's very polished and very unbelievable. The actors are all dressed in their best clobber for the telly, with perfectly styled hair. One of my pet peeves in a movie or TV show is music with lyrics and when I got just that, I started to trail off. I watched for about another 45mins before I completed tuned out.

I love films and TV shows in period settings but I didn't find this show one bit interesting. For several reasons we got the feeling that we were not watching a true depiction of the world at the time it was supposed to be set We eally lost interest when we realised the soundtrack was orchestral versions of current pop songs.
