not so sure

Well I was disappointed. I guess they've over milked it for me. The first movie was great as it really had you believing in the fact that something like that could really happen. This time round I just feel I'm being taken for a ride really. It's not scary as much as it is more predictable. That's a shame. I think the producers ought to look for more talent in other areas rather than keep flogging the same old thing over and over again. Perhaps they are hoping to do a starwars here? The next thing that we'll be aware of is a prequel to all of these films. And actually that might be worth watching. Hope I get a nod for the idea.

Romantic spook

I love this film. It's beautifully shot and very creepy, especially as Aires Rock is meant to be a weird place to visit anyway. This is very old and I wouldn't have watched it if someone hadn't have mentioned it to me. I'm glad I did.The locations are great and I'm really curious about the reality of what went on? Whether it is actually based on some true events or not? That's what I like about films like this as oppose to the ridiculous modern horrors that plainly do not really have 'Darth Maul' hiding in the attic. This is a simple tale, well told and well acted. I'm a teacher and will be showing this to my students as if we don't show them old movies, they just get lost in time. This deserves a shout out.

Witchy Girl Flick

I watched this simply because I read negative reviews on another film that claimed to rip this one off? Well I quite liked this film too. This is an American movie bunch of sexual teenage girls who discover they have special powers and turn into witches. 'The Coven' is a British film about a bunch of terrified young tweenies sneaking into the woods for a sleepover and is not in any way shape or form similar to 'The Craft'! Go figure! I digress, The Craft is entertaining and obviously had some money on the spfx. It's fun, even though it's a bit dated now. This is more like Sabrina the teenage witch with a bit more oomph.

Worth Watching this twice

So many mixed reviews here but the most helpful was the Cochrane Faithful? Thanks to them I decided to watch and I'm glad I did. Obviously aimed at a younger audience (why did it get a 15????) this was a spooky little film with a deeper underlying tale to tell. I googled some of this and found out it really is based on some true stuff. The kids seemed to be 'real' and not acting. Typical oikish young teens. The woods looked amazing - not over lit! I don't understand the negative reviews? Maybe those that wrote them didn't understand the underlying tale?? And some reviews here look just like a case of bad eggs! I found it enjoyable and quite an incredible achievement for such a low budget.
