Mighty Max (1993)
Why is this not on DVD or Blu-ray?
The only other show I loved and remember from growing up (aside from Boy Meets World). It was great to go on adventures with the Mighty One, along with his mountain of a body guard, and a 10,000 year old chicken... Er, foul.
My only complaint is that the show never had an ending, something a movie can rectify.
Boy Meets World (1993)
The greatest moments of my childhood.
I grew up with Cory, Topenga, Shawn, and Mr. Feeny. This is the single greatest television show that I have ever had the privilege of watching, there are genuine laugh out loud moments, poignant moments that make you cry, perfect teaching moments from the greatest teacher I never had... George Feeny. It was an honor to grow up with these people, I couldn't imagine, I wouldn't want to imagine not having this show and these invariably relatable characters as my best friends. The only real friends I ever had.
Newsies (1992)
A guilty pleasure, minus the guilty.
The one thing I love about this movie is the message. Early in the film the lead is proposing they go on strike, and it is clear that nobody wanted to, but a small, yet loud, determined and confident voice shouted STRIKE. An idea that would have died then and there of not for that one small, but loud voice. And that is a message we desperately need in this insane world. One voice makes all the difference.
Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018)
Trippped before the finish line
This was a great film, excessive product placement notwithstanding, despite the fact that some of it blended in well.
There were some great jokes and nods to iconic films. But despite the personal connection to the films antagonist it was flat and anti-climactic, the ending was decent and almost heartbreaking, and on the other hand some bits were convoluted and inorganic.
Long story short, this was a decent film, but it was no Wreck-it Ralph.
Please Stand By (2017)
Some of Dakota Fanning's best work!
I knew from the trailer that this would be a decent film, it was so refreshing to see a female character with flaws to overcome, to see her fail and rise again, to see her become strong. Her journey was enjoyable and even tragic at times as she learned caution and to overcome those things that terrify us all.
I laughed, I cried, I was invested from the moment I popped the dvd into the player. I found her performance believable, dynamic and most rate of all, relatable as I also deal with autism.
I encourage you to give this your attention, it is more than worth the price of admission.
