Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023)
Shazam's resurrection makes light of Billy's sacrifice
Both Billy Batson and Shazam make a great combination. Shazam is the one DC series that has nailed the superhero and humor combination. From the dream date with Wonder Woman to the Avenger Society, the quips are funny and all the characters are so well portrayed.
I hope the Flash reset doesn't impact the Shazam.
This is despite my feeling that Shazam's resurrection makes light of Billy's sacrifice. All the character growth and the arc made for a wonderful end. I feel the cameo at the end with the staff getting reignited wasn't well done. They should have ended the Billy Batson/Shazam and buried him in the realm of Gods with the staff. He could have resurrected as part of another film but this film would have been more successful in terms of the plot had Billy / Shazam stayed dead.
Bones (2005)
Plot conveniences jar you from being drawn into the story
The series started out great but then as the seasons continued, the plot conveniences overshadowed the intended character growth and story arcs. Hence it became completely un-relatable and felt fictional and didn't draw you in to the story.
The first season was good and I enjoyed the season 3 but somewhere as the seasons progressed it deteriorated. The character quirks which added a bit of humor soon became a gimmick and the plot convenience in each episode that intends to portray character growth or the pacing were not so seamless.
But that said I had fun binging on a couple of seasons before I realized it didn't hold my interest anymore.
MacGyver: Kid + Plane + Cable + Truck (2020)
Unrealistic
I haven't seen all the episodes or the season, I just happened to catch Season 4 episode 4 as it was playing. They talk about how unsafe an exploded building rescue is but immediately afterwards the protagonist MacGuyver, Riley and Desi all enter without any safety gear or helmets whereas all the other rescue workers are following protocol and wearing safety gear. These lack of attention to details was irritating.
Eureka (2006)
Pilot was awesome
I loved the Pilot and the first few seasons were interesting but then the plot got too convoluted and turned into a soap opera rather than an interesting whodunnit set amidst some extraordinary scifi setting.
Sherlock (2010)
The Promise of Season 1 wasn't delivered
The show began with a lot of potential but it didn't quite live upto the mark. The season 4 especially was the worst ever. The hype of Moriarty being back pulled you in but it ends up being nothing! The reboot of Hound of Baskervilles is an example of how an amazing story could be mangled. Literally, Sherlock's mind runs through these random words until he comes up with some H.O.U.N.D project name off of some obscure connections that only his mind can make. The audience cannot observe his brilliant deductions and inferences as they never get a glimpse of the context or a perspective of the evidences that Sherlock observes.
Spy Intervention (2020)
The worst parody ever
Both the plot and the characters were mind numbingly boring.
Christmas Matchmakers (2019)
Set It Up plotline with a 'Hallmark' like ending
This movie is reminiscent of Netflix's movie 'Set It Up' with the same plotline except with a little change in the ending compared with the original. The h's mom lisp and her constant nagging jars the viewers but I could see why the h became desperate enough to turn matchmaker.
Lucifer (2016)
Lucifer comes across as Gay
With his eye makeup and constant flirting and his unsexy version of the British accent Lucifer comes across as trying too hard and gay rather than irresistible.
Captain America (1990)
Good acting but major wardrobe malfunction
It wasn't a bad movie but it was really annoying to watch a movie with Captain America wearing a mask that makes him look cross eyed. With so little attention being paid to the costume of the protagonist, it was irksome thing that just bothered me the whole time. But both stars for the movie goes to the actors who despite the ridiculous costume worn by the Captain managed their dialogues and emotions very well rather than ridiculing the costume and director.
Freaky Friday (2018)
A parody of the previous versions
The version with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis was awesome and this was like a parody. Goes to show how even a concept that is been tried and tested and successful can be an epic failure in the wrong hands!
Fuller House (2016)
personality of the characters is over the top and not real
You cannot truly connect with them. The character, their lifestyles are so over the top and unrealistic. The character of Stephanie Tanner is a classic case. She cannot support herself and has no job, credentials or anything but gets a gift from Rebecca her aunt and gets her friend, Kimmy to play a surrogate for her. So what is this show telling its viewers, it doesn't matter how much of a loser you are in life, just bring an innocent child into the world who is dependent on you without making your life right!
K.C. Undercover: Domino 4: The Mask (2018)
a graduation with no pics, videos of course no 911 if there is an emergency!
This is the first of a kind graduation where no one had any cell phones or digi cams recording the events! So of course KC can get away with the whole fight sequence without it going viral. No one of course dared to put in a 911 which even a kinder garten graduate knows he needs to if a mad guy walks into school waving a gun!
