Ghost Town: An American Terror (2023)
totally weird western horror
It's literally the sharpest looking HD western movie ever, extremely vivid and unusual.
Acting and characters are okay- most of them, maybe the biggest downside is unusual constant brightness which is a bit too much, everything looks too much clean for a period of time where the plot is located.
But costumes are excellent, story is okay- without too many jump scares, main actor and majority of the rest are very good. However, except for the unbelievably original and accurately dated authentic wild West replication, for some reason camera had filmed only immediate shots which began to feel quite claustrophobic as the time went by.
Westworld (2016)
season 1 and 2 are nice, that's the summary
Season 1 and 2 are nice, and then it becomes a porridge made of everything you ever saw in science fiction movies.
Who had changed the plot should be given a Nobel Prize for recreational drug use.
A controlled microworld that's made for fun becomes something that controls real world, OK but please next time use some meaning or context, as the way it's represented in westworld it has no meaning to common sense. It all became top production and CGI, like stuff you can see in majority of top marketed movie- but, in order for someone sane to be able to follow the storyline, movie should have an actual storyline. Storyline of this one looks like it's abducted by robots.
Reminds me of a quote "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"
Morbius (2022)
It is something...
... that we have never seen before - Vampires.
Wow, such a nice budget for another blood thirsty vampire based movie.
And do you know what you'll also see in this movie??
More vampires.
Who wants to see another cliché about vampires in a 21st century- Nobody! So yeah, give us more vampires.
No.
Missions (2017)
Technically excellent,
Camera, audio, and montage levels are really astonishing.
First two seasons have good story.
But third season went from Sci-Fi into an action soap opera. Only drama, screaming and running. Turned into a total disaster.
The Jack in the Box (2019)
BBC horror documentary
Bad things first- audio montage is pretty terrible whenever there is some dialogue, acting skills are about similar quality.
Now good things- video quality is absolutely fantastic- although they've made to much unnecessary close frames, video montage is also great, story is good.
Overall, it gave me impression of interesting BBC horror documentary, with bad host and lousy audio.
Gwledd (2021)
Fail?
Somebody has watched to many artistic complementary trash, and tried to make a similar movie without any talent.
It's very slow, pointless monument of amateurism.
Finch (2021)
Ridiculous
Except few scenes after one hour of nothing, everything with this movie is just wrong. Boring, pointless with lots of illogical holes in the script.
Camera and CGI are 5 stars, story is Zero, 5x0=0.
Forrest Gump (1994)
Sci-Fi ?
Three stars are only because of great acting by Tom Hanks who manages to persuade majority of audience that being mentally handicapped is actually desirable trait.
But, even after he magically survives War as a hero, plays pingpong like a pro, learns everything without problem and becomes rich fisherman, he still rides in bus just to show viewers his disability. Still not enough smart and rich to buy a car even if he really needs it?
Congratulations mr. Hanks, you might even consider selling refrigerators to Eskimos.
Ju e dao (2020)
Funny and amusing
Looks kind of like dark parody without intended funny scenes. A nice trip into the silly jungle. One of the rare movies that I've watched without pausing. That's why it gets 10 from me. A gem, for people who are bored by cliché.
Star Trek: Voyager (1995)
if you haven't, don't watch this.
Captain is a person who besides having constant death stare for no reason because of being in menopause, or because she's a proud caffeine addict, has ugly pageboy hairstyle. In fact, there is also one lieutenant with the same repulsive hairstyle. In contrast, 7 of Nine looked like a model, but she was just like the best ice cream covered with hairs because of the rest.
Overall, it's the least convincing series of the Star Trek franchise, instead of mind-blowing stories it's just robotic parade of feminism.
Maléfique (2002)
dark, twisted
Absolutely one of the best French movies. They don't make similar stuff anymore. Camera, acting, story- all excellent.
Extinction (2018)
Holes in the story
It's story about advanced society of robots who somehow don't even know they're robots.
But, when occupation starts there's no air defense against flying crafts, there's no army, no- they just have an escape plan.
I had to watch this movie for three days because it made me fall asleep multiple times. Pretty weird and boring story full of flaws, that I wish I haven't watched.
Stalker (1979)
Amazing visual journey
My understanding of "Stalker" is that it has no story, or the story is just so ordinary that it becomes meaningless.
It is rather a qualitative visual journey which depicts some personal moments when I was seeing nature for the first time in my life during childhood. It was time travelling experience, but it took me some time until I've understood what's it all about and why it looked so strangely familiar.
Kolskaya sverhglubokaya (2020)
interesting
Resident evil and Thing gathered together and had a offspring.
Good acting, storyline not bad, but lights are terrible.
The Education of Fredrick Fitzell (2020)
constant question marks
I've watched the whole movie, waiting for any logical explanation of previous happenings, but it never revealed anything. It felt just like sinking in a quick sand.
This movie proofed that good actors, good acting and good filming don't automatically make good movie if story is meaningless.
Searching (2018)
rubbish documentary
Someone's spying work turned into documentary that looks like as that spy has ADHD.
Nauseous, boring, meaningless. They could have filmed only chats ,mails and articles- it would have been more interesting and easier to watch, instead of this first-person rubbish...
Reminds me of watching news, YUCK.
The Last Ship (2014)
Let's boost your patriotism
Unoriginal story, seen millions of times.
Plot- cheap patriotism. Acting is obviously forced, trivial things are exaggerated to the maximum.
One star, not zero but just one.
Endless Loop (2018)
Refreshing thriller
After watching this movie few times, all I can say is that it's mind bending.
Unpredictable, great acting, and for the first three quarters of the movie its unique. I won't tell you of what the last quarter of this movie reminds me of, because it would be a spoiler.
Recommended.
Murder on the Orient Express (2017)
Should've been much better
Astonishing production, great beginning, butchered and predictable story.
First third of a movie was great, unlike the rest of it.
Anything for Jackson (2020)
Horror?? More like frightening boredom!!
Beginning makes no sense, plot has no sense- if there is even any plot, end has no sense.
At one moment they're whispering, immediately after they're screaming, and that continues through the whole movie. It looks like parody without anything funny.
Pure garbage of a movie.
Boss Level (2020)
need a plot
What is this movie about?
Only stunt scenes, looks like "Desperado" action parts from the beginning till end. But only action scenes- without any meaning, purpose, story or plot. After ten minutes it just became repetitive boredom.
What a waste!
The Dyatlov Pass Incident (2013)
Scifi thriller
Good movie that I won't ever forget, great montage, no bugs, good plot, good acting, unique claustrophobic atmosphere.
I'd wish that they've put first hour which is basically intro within 10 minutes, that part is like documentary that lasts too long.
A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
Fonny balloony
Jump scares and that's it, movie trash.
It's the same as majority of new horror movies, nice production though.
Tenet (2020)
Brainwashing masterpiece??
This action movie lasts half of the time, the other half is just the reversed first half which is intertwined with the first one.
Director or montage did the great job because I've watched whole movie. But at the same time they did terrible job because I've fallen asleep few times.
Voces (2020)
messed up
Meaningless boredom occasionally cut with screams or buzzing sounds. Would be almost absolute pile of garbage, but has few really nice scenes of nature.
Video is great, audio montage is far below zero.
