Sixer (2022)
Rajesh Kumar's Century
Primary highlight of entire series was Rajesh Bhaiya's last 2 bowl in super over of semi final, his century in final, his commentary in balcony and lastly the cinematic thrill of an experience of his swagger after getting bowled in final and walking off the crease, ignoring gargi, nikku the destroyer and his entire team. The moment comes at its peak when he finally sits at the chair in pavallion and put his bat beside him, held his head high, close his eyes and making us feel the what's its like to reach the pinnacle of personal achievement and dreams, all of that in that one last expression he shows.
Hands down.
The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir (2018)
Was that a true story?, asked the Policemen. Only the important parts was the reply by Dhanush.
This movie wasn't great but was delightful, simple, beautiful and Dhanush was lovable as he was in Raanjhanaa. Some reviewers wrote that movie wasn't a true depiction of India or refugees, but was it meant to be so?
It was kind of fairy tale story with simplistic treatment which might not be enough for some but i myself found this one soothing my heart and inner self.
Karwaan (2018)
A Feel Good Movie
Watched this movie with certain conviction of it being good and that turn out to be true. Its kind of a coming of age movie, Irrfan was brilliant with his comic timings, Dulquer Salmaan was impressive, Mithila was also likable and the surprise element was Kriti. Story, Screenplay were good along with beautiful cinematography.
Mulk (2018)
Not a well articulated Courtroom Drama
Submission of IO when questioned by defense attorney comes out of nowhere, emotional trauma and mental drama were highly missing. The film does have a good message but neither backed by good story, screenplay nor direction. Above all this Hindi movie also conclude court hearing in few days which obviously is not the case, so reality was completely ignored.
