Garfield Gets Real (2007)
Very bad
This film is just an insult for the cartoon series and for Garfield fans, which grew up with those.
Surprisingly bad about this film is the animation, which looks like 1D, although it is 3D-CGI. The colours which were used are very flashy and unnatural, even in the real world, which has almost no differences to Garfield's comic world. Some animation looks very wrong, for example a scene, where Garfield has shaken ketchup out of its bottle.
The content can't make it up, because there aren't any jokes - and this is really a surprise, because that film was written by Garfield creator Jim Davis. It looks like if Davis would have taken early dialogues, which he didn't want to use in a strip.
The characters are in contrast to the comics and cartoon series unlikable, and Garfield itself isn't recognisable anymore, because the normally sarcastic cat became very gentle.
My opinion: Very bad. That film can be seen by young children, all other people should let the fingers from that film, even ingrained Garfield fans.
Freakazoid! (1995)
Super teen extraordinaire, runs around in underwear...
Before SpongeBob Squarepants came, Freakazoid was, so do I think, the most hysterical cartoon in children's programme (hysterical cartoons are normal nowadays). The theme song is an ear worm, of which I can't get out. Now to the series: Kids can have fun at watching dumb superhero's. But they don't understand some references. That's the reason why Freakazoid is so underrated. It's actually a shame, because that series is sometimes very funny. With the recommended audience should it have been here similar to the recommended audience for The Flintstones: entertainment for kids and adults. While the series is too hard for kids to understand, the series is too harmful to be an adult cartoon.
My thought: For everybody who likes SpongeBob Squarepants or similar hysterical cartoons, is Freakazoid a good series, not only because it's so funny. But it should be seen by older people, who understand the references, so they can think about if this series is good for children.
Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em (1973)
70s TV at his best
One of the best TV series which was made in the 70s. Frank Spencer became a part of British Comedy Culture, because he is accident-prone and can do very good stunts. Accidents are one part of my humor. My favourite episodes are "Have a Break, Take a Husband", "Father's Clinic", "Learning to Drive" and "Moving House". Not as good as the beginning is the third series. It was good that Frank is better at talking to people ("I am he."), but he sounded more annoying in this series. The episode "Scottish Dancing" was, in my opinion, a bit family-unfriendly, because of the scene where the dog had not much hair and looked dead, after Frank washed it, and the last scene, where the kilt of Frank slipped down and his bum can be seen. Other negative part is the sound. While the dialogues are sometimes very quiet, is the laugh track very loud. All in all is "Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em" a very good TV series with a bit of problems. I would recommend this series to everybody who likes Laurel & Hardy, Mr. Bean etc.
