Good Jidaigeki tv-show

But I'm surprised 😮 that there are no negative criticism. Are people just happy that they didn't woke the show up (lol)

First of let me start with everything I enjoyed about the show 😌

The acting was great all the lead actor's did a outstanding job. The dialogs were interesting the storyline obviously was great to . The clothing seemed correct with the timeperiod, there was enough suspense to keep you watching for most of season 1.

Now I don't compare this show with the original. I have watched this as if I never seen the O. G version. And I wanted to see more variation in this version and that were my negative criticism starts .

In my opinion the show lacks battle scenes, and the obvious lacking of the battle (war ) of sekigahara yeah I know the O. G version didn't show the war either but that's why I was hoping this version would be different , but they kind of just mixed copy pasted and changed a little bit here and there 😉 .

The show screams for more episodes or seasons 🤔 even if the finale answered everything in the dialogs and little time jumps .So long story short, great Jidaigeki time period political drama .

But it lacks episodes and action.

I am not even comparing this to Death as nobody should . But that being said this show is just overall BAD slow and downright annoying. NON of the characters are either interesting or funny no depth to them no charisma nothing ,

the female colleague of HUMP has the persona of some ones grandmother , that Olga woman just sits there behind here desk with that what am i even doing here look .Then there is that teenage like boy who's suppose to be funny but fails to do so , and then there is the ow so BORING girlfriend and here even more BORING Mother .

And to top it off the story-lines are BORDER LINE suicidal simple and yes BORING no suspense no humor no plot twist just 50 minutes of BOREDOM , and it is a shame because the scenery is BUEATYFULL.

I, am going to keep my review as short as possible

The acting was good enough ,the scenery was nice I also like the story and the fact that they gone back to the native days . I think the lead actress played here part perfect, it didn't bother me that she played a role that in general is put aside for big strong males .

The action scenes where also good yeah some a little bit to unrealistic even for a movie like this . The 1vs1 battle between here and the predator for example , but hey it is a MOVIE

but they could have put more emphasis on the HUNTING part that i s the only negative criteria I have on this version of predator.

Let's begin with the positive

The show is easy for the eye ,because the storyline is kind of simple . The lead main actors really do they best at portraying the character they are playing.

I like the little hints to the different cultures in the show , the sceneries and costumes are fine to not over the top and not to cheap (b budget)

now a overall review on season1 and 2 with the negative criticism i have :

The show fails to deliver the same mythical vibe as the original Vikings show gave us . The storyline is to simple not deep enough , the dialogs are to simple to cheesy to Cringy .

The where enough battle scenes in season 1 but in season 2 the battle scenes, can be count on 1 hand and besides that up until the last 3 episodes of season 1, and 2 i didn't really get the feeling that they are telling the story of Leif Harold and freydis

Instead we get a extra light show about the descendants of famous Vikings ,mixed in with a fairytale like story where a Danish prince falls in love with the empress of Constantinople and a Leif Erikson in love and holding hands with a middle eastern woman .

And that wouldn't be that big of a thing , i actually like the way they blended in here story and what she brought to the show . But the show it self didn't really deliver enough in season 1 and 2 .

And i don't mind the show not being accurate but at least try to be a little a bit accurate , i mean the battle of Stamford bridge is pretty known and also who fought in it , so no need to change everything about it . But they pushed it in season 1 just to get it over with it seems .

And then in season 2 we are left with 7 episodes of a mixture of drama /fairytale/ and a teenage Netflix show about female strength.

What could have been a great thriller with a actual truth to it ended up being one of the worse movies ever.

The acting was not even worthy of a sitcom everything seemed forced not real to many exaggerations over acting .

The dialogs where to simple no depth in the movie the editing i mean come on they went from getting to know each other to can't be without you in my life in like 5 scenes lol

long story short not worth your time !

Let me start by when i watch a movie about ip man i don't aspect it to be a docu with 100 % accurate facts.

After Ip man 2 I kind of started watching the movies with a pinch of salt because its not about Ip mans life anymore but about making a nice movie surrounding a icon of kung fu.

Part 4 brings us to ip being invited by BRUCE LEE to come to the states as far as I know ip never been in the us he was all ready to sick to travel but ok lets play along I did read about Bruce inviting him over in several books about Bruce his life but non of them mention IP MAN actually being in the USA.

But again forget about it being accurate .

so as far as the story goes its just SAD they choose to make it about discrimination and I do realize that in those times that most definitely could have been the case but they failed to deliver it in a good way it just seems like ow we need a story lets throw some discrimination social problems in it.

The acting is bad it seems like they did not have the budget anymore to get good actors like in the other previous parts everything seems rushed they also choose the character Bruce lee like how he is in his movies but not the actual BRUCE in his normal life witch makes this just look like a mockery of bruce lee with the constant noises and typical look (kind of like Tarantinos Once upon bruce )

The fight scenes are not as good as in the previous parts also I expected more off scot,s role in the movie.

So to sum it all up /

THEY MESSED UP A PERFECTLY GOOD MOVIE TRILOGY with this !

With a story that makes no sense fight scenes that are not good with a sick dying ip man fighting American soldiers and generals

A bruce lee taken strait out of tarantinos once upon a time in Hollywood

only scenes that make sence are the once in the end where ip,s son is filming him on the dummy because the real footage of that is actually on you tube also the book bruce made that's actual real book I have it.



but the bad acting story for 90 % of the movie it even looks like a comedy in some way it just make this movie a real bad ending to a good trilogy

Let me start my review with the negative criticism that I have:

in the beginning of the show some actors had really irritating Australian/ American Canadian (like)accents (Ubbe) (Bjorn) but they did a good job deeper into the show and the more episodes they played the better their performance got. Other thing I noticed is they started the show (season 1) with two lead characters who both are mentioned in the sagas but both in two whole different time periods one around the 8th century the other around the 9th.

I'm talking about the connection between Ragnar and Rollo I guess they did that simply to see witch character would catch on to the viewers.

So the negative In summary:

The show is not 100 % accurate as in how its described in the sagas also some actors deliver a MASTERPIECE of a performance and some just fall short compared to their colleagues.

after the first 3 seasons the show kind of loses its authenticity (but in my opinion not in DRASTICAL way .

Now The good part:

The lead roles really live up to their part the dialogs between some of the main character's are just beautiful.

Fighting scenes are also good you can really see they spend a lot of time in the gym and training with axes and sword fighting .

The old Norse language they used in some episodes also gives the show a little extra .

and the storylines are also great some better than others .

In summary if you like shows from this genre than this is a MUST see but if your expecting to see a GOT like show than this is not for you .. You can compare this show with The last Kingdom only difference is Vikings is loosely based and written on some parts of what is written in the Danish Icelandic sagas and TLK is based on the Anglo-Saxons chronicles

First of all this show is absolutely great the acting the storylines the way its filmed everything about is great If you have not seen it you should take out some popcorn and start watching it from season 1-5 to the end without any breaks!

That being said I have to say season 5 seems kind of rushed witch is strange since there is a couple of years between season 4 and 5 one would say enough time to make a good end season !

in my opinion the double storylines and plot-twist kind of messed up season 5 because they had to rush the end I mean you spend all this time building up your serial killer and then the end is kind of disappointing what,s the use of building up your serial killer but rushing the end.

The serial killer deserved at least 1 whole episode surrounding his story alone and his capture ..

The negative reviews really surprise me its like everybody is a EXPERT on Norse and English history all of the sudden.

Again if you expect to see 100% accuracy then you need to wake up because that's just impossible its based on a saga that was translated 100 times and where written around the 14th century about events that happened between the 7 and 9th century.

In my opinion they did a great job and in this episode they really showed it again the acting was great the way the battle scene was shot was just fine they gave the bishop a worthy death according to the Saxon chronicles he actually DIED during this battle ,

Cant wait for the next episode !

AND NO THE LAST KINGDOM IS NOT A BETTER SHOW its just a different show and not based on the NORSE sagas BUT the Saxon chronicles

First of all I'm still pissed that they decided to cancel the show !

I really liked the show it had everything in it I wanted to see....... HISTORY something to little shows have as a main storyline and they wrapped it up in a good and funny action packed story-line by time traveling back to important times in history ..

Im not a SFI fan but timeless made it interesting and unique specially because of the history part in it be it made up or not

The first season started off really good it had enough action and the storylines where exciting enough to keep your mind busy for 45 minutes Shemar is a real good actor specially on criminal minds he was great.

But in this show they are spending a lot of time making him look like some kind of POSTERBOY for a male modeling magazine.

Then the amount of episodes spend on hate crimes and discrimination is just beyond putting out a message and not even to begin about the amount of effort they are putting into showing people how many types of modern relationships there are it,s just mind blowing ...I get it a lot of people want to live life without any limits or real responsibility...but really do we have to see this being portrait in almost every show now are days ...like being extra is the new normal . They are just simply spending to much time on trying to change peoples mind on certain issues then actually making a entertaining show about S.W.A.T

the episode that really made me stop watching this show was where more then 30 mins where spend on explaining how its normal to be married and have your wife have a girlfriend on the side who you both welcome in your house and live with ...GTFO with that BS ..

then the just awful special effects and by now the dynamic between the lead characters is just little to almost not visible anymore!

and the constant changing of the narrative is just irritating the storylines are just played out and even worse non of the characters have a interesting backstory or personal issue to spend attention on (they probably tried that by adding the polygamy stuff) but it just seems forced.

So like I said Started of great but ended up looking like some kind of election show for a political party or human rights group
