Widows (2018)
One key climax with tremendous buildup
There are some entertaining scenes in this movie with original angles, and stellar performances by both Colin Farell and Liam Neeson. Long shots and extended focus on faces give this movie a style that is not typical of a heist thriller, but more characteristic of a drama which l found interesting, although unexpected. There is an overall feeling of loose ends, and fragments of social criticism that do not reach closure. Also, the climax was somewhat disappointing after such a long build-up. This movie could have easily been edited to be much shorter.
All the Money in the World (2017)
The acting was phenomenal
Overall. All the Money in the World was an enjoyable movie, it was entertaining. The cinematography was well thought out, and made was seemed like an ordinary plot into an interesting film. The wayt it was fimled reminded me the way movies used to be. As for the acting, Walberg delivered an impressive performance, but I think it was Chistopher Palmer who took the cake. He was the most impactful actor in this movie, and I couldn't imagine the movie without him. The captor. who spends the most time with the boy also delivered a wonderful performance. That said. I felt the movie was slow moving at times, and there could have been some romance, or more humor. dialogue (besides that of Palmer). In summary, an original dialogue, especially Palmer's, phenomenal acting with the charismatic cinematographyoverlay turn this plot into a film worth watching.
Wonder Woman (2017)
Definitely a wonder
Wonder Woman is currently one of Warner Bros.' best-reviewed superhero movie for about a decade. I think this movie is overrated by far. The plot was overly simplistic even for this type of film; it was choppy, predictable and stretched out. In my view, the movie doesn't create any drama or buildup to a climax that lures the viewer in. There is no point where you think Wonder Woman will be defeated. What is her weakness? Once we feel she is invincible, where can the movie develop? My view that her chemistry with Chris Pine was far from the quoted "magnetic", although, separately, each of them individually are charismatic. There was a hint of romance between them but that did not develop. Antiope, the Amazons tribes chief played by Robin Wright delivered a stellar performance. Overall, an impressive soundtrack coupled several action scenes and a touch of humor weren't enough to lift this movie off the ground.
Ismach Hatani (2016)
Entertaining Film
First off, the film had impressive cinematography, and it was notable that the filming was well thought out in this respect. I felt that the filming significantly contributed to the film being enjoyable. Even a casual view would take note of the angles and the wide screen shootings.
As for the plot, the film flowed well, and the dialogue was sincere and heartfelt. The conflict portrayed within religious life is one that can be related to. The clash of modern day values and keeping the tradition comes up in various scenes.
The acting of Avraham Aviv Alush was notable, he delivered a fine performance in a versatile role.
Overall, and entertaining film, which was well thought out, authentic dialogue, and of course... a wonderful theme song.
Laavor et HaKir (2016)
Wonderful plot idea execution mediocre
This movie had potential as the theme of marriage at a later stage is a prominent in the religious society in Israel. As for the acting, although Noa Kooler's was impressive in her performance, the movie's "beat" was kind of monotonous, and it felt as if the actors were all subject to this depressing mood. Although there was some humor, the plot dragged along.
Felt like there were almost no twists and turns in the movie, and the standstill dialogue did not create motivation to continue watching.
Overall, a wonderful plot idea, some impressive acting, and mediocre execution.
Jason Bourne (2016)
Bourne to make money
The movie had so much potential with a excellent cast, and an impressive trilogy record. While I felt the acting was stellar, the plot was predictable, and the movie felt like a cocktail of other movie fragments. There was a feeling that Bourne was invincible throughout the movie which is caused the suspense to fizzle. It seems like the movie could have developed many ideas that came up, but it the end, it just felt like a screenplay which doesn't develop into substance. However, it is worthwhile mentioning the acting of Alicia Vikander in this film, I thought she was a perfect fit for the role. Overall, not close to the original Bourne trilogy, but had some flashes of interest.
