While watching this you can learn a lot about old corporate life. Elevator operators, secretarial pools, actuarial pools...and late night drinking/flirting/affairs.

As a woman watching this I can see it would have been hard to break into even a low-level clerical job and the only option was to try to marry for stability. You'd have to have worked before the 1990's when diversity training came to corporate America.

Jack Lemmon's Mr. Nice guy character is a good one for this office. Even though he was selling his soul a little with letting his Apartment become the harem den for his buddies.

Also interesting is a different version of Fred MacMurray and Shirley McLaine in this movie.

This movie.reminded me of Crowe's Singles -a lot! Themed around perceived punk lifestyle in SLC.

I always enjoy coming of age stories and if that's something you like...check it out. Some good acting.

It could easily be a current movie. I feel the tone of the movie was off. It's a screwball take on a movie with a serious message. I wonder if we take ourselves too seriously to appreciate it. It did have an interesting cast. I think I will have to read the book and see if I need to update my review.

I think they gloss over the violence but the movie really flows nicely. Between the intense drama and the car scenes, I was riveted! I'm going to recommend this movie to my friends.

I am verrry fond of the miniseries and the Gwyneth Paltrow movie, but this movie left me feeling cold out of the theater. Clearly I set my expectations too high. I just saw it again this morning and I like it a couple of stars more (7 now). I think this version has less mirth, but more in visual appeal. I felt a little more sympathetic to Ms. Woodhouse today.

In the movie they show a Sergio Leone on a movie while the American was in a coffee shop. There was a lot of tense drama and beautiful cinematography. This movie is not the usual offering from Clooney, it's a throwback to a time without technology.

I might change my review to 10 only because of the filming, character development and acting. Some of the scenes in the movie require suspension of disbelief but as a whole the movie is thought-provoking. It does leave you wanting to change the status quo.

"Frank" narrates this movie in a similar fashion to Forrest Gump. It's an epic that shows us several events in our history through the lens of Frank -The Irishman. I liked this different view as a film. The story is told well, although it does seem to be a (good) work of fiction. I think the original title might've worked too!
