Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022)
Bored
I wasted My lunch break with this film, I couldn't face watching to the end and I found it very boring. Emma Thompsons character was very annoying and just babbled on... I mean going on about the guys mother?! The guy was good and very likeable, but I won't be watching the end to see what happens! Not sure about all the high ratings but I have found one or two that agree with me! This is mostly a monologue film with the two main characters conversing, not much of a story line or any intreage or humour just plain ramblings from her and I just wanted to shake the woman and tell her to loosen up.
Giddy Stratospheres (2021)
It was ok
I'm a massive long blondes, the cribs, future heads, and other 00s indie music fan so I was very excited to hear about this film. The sound track was great and very on point for that era but I didn't think the film itself was great. The partying I can certainly identify with and have been to many indie nights in London and I knew many people who were similar to the ones in the the film from parties and social circles I've mixed with. The drugs scene is fairly accurate but I didn't particularly like the ending. Watch it for yourself and see if you agreem.
Good Girls (2018)
Stupid girls
I have just given up on this on episode 3 of season 4. Its just terrible! Season 1 and 2 were good then it lost its way in season 3 and now I'm at the point where I don't care what happenes to these awful characters. It's not even funny, interesting or gritty. I call This
stupid girls as they go around in circles and never make any money or do anything of any intelligent thinking. I even feel sorry for their husbands!
The Witches of Eastwick (1987)
Not aged well
I watched this recently (May 2021) and it was not as good as I remembered it to be. The second half was better than the first, but overall I don't thi k it has aged very well.
White Lines (2020)
Fun in the sun
Good fun murder mystery in the sun. It was a bit cheesey in places but if you Accept it for what it is and like holidays and dance music with a bit of a murder mystery thrown in then This is for you. The best character is boxer and he makes the show worthwhile.
Life of the Party (2018)
cringeworthy and uncomfortable
I don't usually write reviews but this film was so bad I need to warn people not to see it. I was very disappointed in this film. It tries too hard to be funny and is plain cringeworthy. There is a scene where she tries to do a presentation and it is so uncomfortable to watch and went on for far too long. I wanted to walk out of the cinema but as I had already stuck it out for an hour I saw it though to the end.... it wasnt worth it. All the best buts are in the trailer. Melissa McCarthy was good as an embarrassing Mum but I will not want to se this again.
