Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
Sorry folks, I didn't like it.
I'm a huge Robin Hood fan, but there was something lacking in this movie that I can't quite put my finger on, but i'll try.
Alan Rickman playing the Sheriff of Nottingham was too humorous, and Kevin Kosner did not convey the Robin Hood character that i've grown up with.
The rest of the cast did their best, and did I hear the "f" word used by Christian Slater ?.
Also I thought Morgan Freeman was miscast.
I give this movie 2 for effort.
Gorgo (1961)
A very sad load of rubbish.
First of all this film was a complete waste of the fine acting talents of Bill Travers, and William Sylvester.
This film is about a monster taken from the sea and put in front of people on the land, just to make money and for amusement. This is a sad film because the mother comes from the sea to take what is in fact her baby stolen by the greedy humans. She creates mayhem in her path.
I became very sad watching this film because whenever I watch films about monsters, I always feel sorry for them as they are attacked by the so called civilised people on land.
I took this film seriously, and the only person who had any pity at all for the monster was the character played by Vincent Winter, Tom I believe his name was ?
Yes, I know the monsters were'nt real....
I have to ask, just who were the monsters.?????
Bad Santa (2003)
Simply vile and revolting. Utter crap.
I have just struggled watching to the very end, Bad Santa. And then I turned to the reviews, and was stunned by those who liked it, they thought it was funny, they thought it was the best Christmas movie they had ever seen. This film is foul mouth twaddle.
I know without a doubt that this film is the worst I have ever seen, I'm not going to give any credence to the actors.
There is absolutely foul language throughout, all intelligent adults should avoid this movie at all costs.
Bad Santa. Bad movie. End of....
Yuk" yuk" yuk"
Evidence of Truth (2016)
A brilliant edge of your seat, "who done it" ? thriller.
I have read only one review on here and its totally under par, so I feel I have to come to this movie's defence.
Andrea Roth's excellent conviction acting really and truly held me to my seat when watching this film.
This actress is new to me, i'm watching her at the moment in Rescue me.
This is a superb movie with more twists and turns that a cork screw and there a twist/shock ending that really caught me off guard, because you are lead to believe the killer is somebody else.
First I thought the killer was her husband, then I thought it was someone else, then in the last few moments I found out who the killer was, ?????..............Watch the movie and see!
Rescue Me (2004)
I don't like any of the characters in this TV show.
I have just watched the first episode, or the pilot of Rescue me, having just completed watching the entire series of Chicago Fire, and I think I've made a big mistake, because Chicago Fire held my attention from the very first episode, I got to like the characters instantly.
I don't like any of the characters in Rescue me, the fires and the action are incidental to my viewing requirements.
I will give this show a few more episodes, but going by the first episode, Rescue me doesn't stand a chance.
Because im influenced by Chicago Fire, ill give Rescue me, 5/10, but my gut tells me my thoughts wont change, if they do, ill write another review.
The Practice (1997)
An open letter to David E. Kelley.
Dear David E. Kelley,
Why oh why did you write this superb television series, and then ditch the formula and half the regular cast from season 8 ???????????
The Practice easily knocks spots of anything shown today that comes from your country, America.
Watching The Practice took me back to the days of Hill Street Blues, Cagney and Lacey, L.A Law, NYPD Blue. American Drama Television writing at its best.
But The Practice beat the lot hands down.
However, James Spader's introduction threw The Practice into second gear , and without the full regular cast the heart went out of the programme as far as I was concerned.
At the tail end of the series, Steve Harris who played Eugene Young to the hilt, made it to the bar and became a Judge. Might I suggest with your excellent writing skills, you develop a new series here around his success as a Judge. ?
In general The Practice, series 1 to 7 only, has been an excellent American Drama, the best ever.. Characters you warmed to, and cared about. Series 8 was cold. James Spader was totally miscast. Well done David E. Kelley and all concerned in the series.
