Thought provoking & Well done
16 December 2021
"Cancel Culture"- This thing that we all have (sadly) either witnessed or even participated in. Perhaps some viewing this may even have been victim to it. Deserved or not, it has become a ferocious force. Mob mentality at it's most intense because the audience on someone's actions can be the entire world now, which to me is wild. Perhaps like others, knowing how to feel towards "cancelling" someone has often been tricky to feel one way or another about (is it cruel, or justified? Both?) on as it is very situational. It deals with morality and perceived justice. All very thought provoking issues. So when I heard about the premise of this short I was immediately intrigued. And what I found even more interesting upon viewing was that it comes from the perspective of someone (in this case, a young child) who is removed from the entire surrounding context- and further- seeing someone they know and love dearly at the center of many strangers' wrath.

Zach does a really good job of articulating what inspired him making this on recent interviews you can find online. Overall I found the film to be a very interesting perspective on an issue I find fascinating (for better or worse). Well shot- I liked the simplicity of the scenes but beautifully done. Great acting as well. Bravo!

Extremely well done

They beautifully intertwined Michelle's personal story, her work & dedication on the EAR/ONS case (and true crime in general), along with intimate interviews with the surviving victims. They were there all throughout the series, so it felt as though you were able to get to know them.. Were able to REALLY see their humanity, as opposed to their common aliases of victim #'s on a page. Patton Oswalt was generous with his journey with grief- something that I think needs to be talked about more, everyone will have to go through it at some point in their lives. He is such a sweet soul, and my heart is crushed for his and his daughter loss. But he was able to really honour the life and legacy of Michelle, his love for her is very apparent.

The production quality & editing is very well done which of course makes it even more of a great watch. They of course also really get in to the details of the EAR/ONS cases, with new facts even I didn't kn.

Spectacular satire fun!
14 February 2021
This movie was spectacular and silly and oh so funny! Loved the Austin Powers vibe- and then you throw in lovable mid-western besties, colorful pastel-clad decor and then a spectacular Jamie Dornan dance number?! Pure gold! Laughs all the way through and actually a cute story. Anyone reading this who enjoys satire comedy, definitely go for this one!!
