My Favorite Movie from Every Year I've Been Alive: A Work in Progress
27 titles |

I will update and amend this list as necessary. Some years are missing either because there were too many movies that I liked from those years or too many movies that I haven't yet seen or have seen but don't remember.
One-Hit-Wonder Child Stars
134 people |
Public
It's not easy being a child star. Not only do many child stars not remain stars past childhood, but some end up having only one role, or at least only one role that could be considered notable. The reason that this happens can vary, but in such cases, a child star is less likely to be referred to by his or her own name than as "that kid from [movie title]" or "that kid who played [character name] in [movie title]."
The reasons that a child star may end up being a one-hit-wonder are pretty much the same reasons why a grown-up actor may reach the same fate. These include: 1. Lack of Interest (They decide that acting isn't for them after all) 2. Lack of Talent (They can't act well enough after all) 3. Lack of Success (Their breakout roles were in notorious flops; not necessarily fatal to a career) 4. A Tough Act to Follow (Their breakout roles were so perfect and iconic that no other roles could compare; also not necessarily fatal to a career) 5. Bad Luck (Basically any reason not listed above)
Note: The terms in the title may be used loosely.

Sometimes, a film's final line of dialogue is so memorable that it becomes iconic. Here are some films with notably quotable closing lines.
Young Actors Who Just Disappeared
23 people |
Public
These are young actors who were too prolific to be considered "one-hit-wonders" but still had brief careers that ended abruptly. Most are child actors who left acting when they reached adulthood, if not before.
Note 1: I am aware that all actors on this list are male. I didn't intend it to be a male-only list, but the only examples that have come to mind so far have been male.
Note 2: The years listed in the notes are the years of the IMDb credits associated with the actors' works. The year used on IMDb credits is the year of the initial theatrical release, the first home video/digital release, or the initial television airing of a given work, depending on the medium. Therefore, the years listed may be later, sometimes significantly so, than the years that production took place.
