The Reef: Stalked (2022)
Stalked, perhaps. The Reef, definitely not.
The acting is very wooden, but with the script and direction you can't really ask for better. The editing is a touch odd, for example, causing time to stand still as one of the kayakers paddles hard to get to an island to warn kids jumping off a raft to get out of the water. It seems to take forever, while the couple she left behind to recover from shock arrive at almost the same time as her.
As others have already said, the CGI isn't the best and the live shark images look as if lifted from a documentary. These things can be forgiven if the movie is enjoyable, but in this case it's hard to find much to enjoy.
Only giving it 4/10 for the actresses getting in the water in Australia.
Last Man Down (2021)
Terrible, Just Terrible
Has to be the worst film ever made, its like the main actor (in the loosest sense of the word) on an ego trip with barely any plot, script, direction or redemptive qualities. As a fan of 80's action movies I thought this might be worth a look but boy was I wrong. I reckon if you gave a dozen chimps a camcorder they'd make a more entertaining and enjoyable movie.
The Hungover Games (2014)
Why?
Why did they make this?
Why did I watch it?
Don't be asking yourself these questions, do yourself a favour and give it a miss.
Alpha (2018)
It's NOT a documentary!
It's a stunningly, beautifully shot and acted film of a young man lost and left behind finding his way home and becoming friends with a wolf. It's not and doesn't claim to be a historically accurate account of how humans and dogs came to be companions or how humans looked or acted 20,000 years ago, so just watch and enjoy the visuals and the tale of a young man's journey.
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
Very Disappointing
Great idea and great cast let down by poor screenwriting, and the ending is absolutely terrible. I have to admit the only reason I watched it to the end was I was sure it had to get better at some point, but unfortunately not.
Robin Hood: The Rebellion (2018)
An hour and a half you'll never get back
No spoilers needed as the movie is a complete waste of time. Acting weak, action terrible, dialogue worse and last and definitely least is the score
Bait (2012)
Better Than Expected
Wasn't expecting much from this after seeing the first 2 Sharknado movies. I had an hour and a half to kill so stuck this on on Netflix and was actually a bit surprised by it, it's by no means a great movie but passes the time well.
