Derailed (2005)
Great movie-the good guys always win!
Let me be perfectly clear on this: I'm no Siskel or Ebert or even a Gene Shalit, I just enjoy a good movie from time to time, and I enjoyed this movie. Granted there were some things in the movie that were a bit unbelievable and stretched beyond one's logical imagination, but I liked it. I especially liked the ending(s) where all 'bad guys' got what they so just fully deserved. I did feel kinda sorry for Jennifer Anniston's character, Lucinda because she did seem to feel sorry for Charles' daughter's medical problems. Anyway, like I said, I liked the movie and have watched it more than once and will probably watch it several more times since I purchased the DVD.
A Woman's Nightmare (2018)
Brady's car... a black, gold trimmed '79 Pontiac Trans Am 6.6 Litre engine with T-Top is the star of this movie!!!
As soon as I saw Brady drive up in that black, gold trimmed '79 Pontiac Trans Am I literally said 'out loud' to myself..."That kid doesn't deserve that car!" I owned a red '79 Pontiac Trans Am 6.6 litre engine (no T-Top) back in they day and I would make a deal with the devil to get it back. That punk doesn't deserve that car. Not then, not now, not ever! A proud (former) Trans Am owner. As for the movie itself, pretty lame. Reminded me of 'Fatal Attraction' a little bit.
The Twilight Zone: Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up? (1961)
Scariest, spookiest episode of them all!
I saw this episode of TZ when it was first broadcast in 1961. I was just a 12-year old boy at the time and had a love of horror movies no doubt. I could deal with a Teenage Frankenstein and The Fly and all the others, but this episode really freaked me out. It was the ending that did it! It didn't bother me when Ross was sitting at the counter and revealed his third arm, nope, but when Haley took off his cap and we see his third eye right in the middle of his forehead...well, that was it for me! Of course his sarcastic 'gotcha' laugh only added to the scene and to the overall plot twist and shock of the ending. Great episode! Definitely my favorite episode of all time.
The Colossus of New York (1958)
Time and age appropriate
When this movie came out I was 10 years old. And, assuming on my past attendance at other Sci-Fi films of this nature and time period, I probably was in the front row of the theater when it made its first run. It spooked the living daylights out of me to put it mildly. Now, looking back some 60 years it is laughable! Other reviewers were very critical of the film, to them I ask, "How old were they when they saw it for the first time and when was that?" Movies have come a l-o-n-g way since 1958 not to mention the advances of Special Effects. In other words, we've been spoiled rotten with it all! We all have our opinions about everything and that's what so great about it all. As for me (the 10 year old kid that watched it in 1958 speaking) I think it was a fantastic and scary, spooky film that will be a wonderful memory of my youth.
