Everyone Here Is Wrong, Here's Why
7 May 2020
People mostly complain because they thought it was gonna be another Marvel type action/comedy filled with one-liners. If you come into this movie with an open mind and without expectations (like you should with ALL movies) then what you get is a movie about father and son, but mostly about the issues the character has with himself. The protagonist embarks on a journey across the solar system to find his father, but the journey serves as am engine where the character develops and reflects. What I like even more about this movie is the fact that it is a Sci-Fi setting without it being up in your face about it. It's a new world that adds depth and flavor to the main story, but it is not the actual story. I wish more movies did that. Like maybe a romance movie, but on Mars, what new flavors could that add (you get what I am talking about)?

TLDR; It's not Star Wars with Brad Pitt, it's mainly a drama with splashes of adventure set in a grounded Sci-Fi world.

The Quake (2018)

Pointless Drama, All Moneyshots In Trailer
31 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Beware that I'm reviewing this film based on only the film. This film is a sequel to Bølgen and I have not seen it so there is a possibility that I was unable to appriciate some aspects of the film.

The film is 90% pointless drama and pointless scenes that amounts to nothing. The film tries to build tension towards the "quake", but it fails horribly and the pay off is laughably bad. There is no more than 10 minutes of destruction in the film and the rest is extremely uninteresting...

The child actors are painful to watch and most characters make horrible and stupid descicions for seemingly no reason and that was incredibly frustrating to watch.

There was one thing I could appriciate with the film which was the destruction, but ONLY because i live in the actual city where the destruction took place (Oslo)...the rest is just pain and suffering... Very uninspiring film...

This Movie Gives Meaning To The Word "Terror"
12 March 2018
This movie is an honest portrayal of a horrific event that took place on Utøya. There is no music, there are no cuts, there is just you and the film in a nightmare scenario. The haunting screams followed gunshots really shook me, especially since this actually happened.

My only gripe with this film is that some of the actors were so laughably bad that it took me out of the movie, luckily though they didn't take up too much space in the film.

I'd Probably Give This Less If I Wasn't A Stargate Fan
15 February 2018
NOTE: This is a judgement of the three first episodes, so I can't judge if the story is good or not, however it seems like it has promise..

The Good:

Great cinematography, good music that sounds like the original and some of the effects were good..

The Bad:

Less than acceptable acting and cringey humor (some of it was funny though)

The Ugly:

There is a giant loophole! If Catherine was able to open the gate in Origins, she should have remembered that in the original movie!!

I don't understand the hate though.. 1 star? Really?

People rating it badly are just people with an attention span of a goldfish
8 October 2017
People that watch movies for tits, ass and violence aren't going to like this movie even though there is some of that in the movie. The movie has many interesting themes and the cinematography is breathtaking.

Now like my title suggests if you like movies that are easy to digest and by the numbers then this movie isn't for you, but if you like to think and decipher the movie for yourself then it is a great movie for you. I won't say anything about the story, but you should have watched the first one to understand a lot of key moments in this movie.

A Review From A Non Angry Little Trekkie
29 September 2017
All of these 1 star spams does not reflect the show fairly. I have seen quite a few Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes, but I do not consider myself a Star Trek fan (or rather "trekkie"), however I am a mad fan of Science Fiction.

Note that this review is of the two first episodes:

Positive:

The show had great visuals and the action was great. It was possible for me to follow the story without having to have watched every other show.

Negative:

The dialogue was kind of weird? Some lines didn't seem natural and was only said to spout story. My biggest complaint was forcing all of these feminist and other ideals into the show.
