Ecstasy (2011)
Gosh Darn it's Good
I recently watched this film at the Vail Film Festival. This story is about, well.... it's in the title. I was not sure how I would take this at first being fearful that it would be a Trainspotting knockoff. I was very pleased that even though it is about drugs like Trainspotting, it has a unique story that stands on it's own two feet. I do fee that the first act dragged a little before the story really began moving. I have seen other reviews from old people (me being not too young myself) complaining that this should have been a nostalgic piece or should contain dub-step tracks... that is complete rubbish. I am a fan of most Genre's of EDM but I feel the tunes in this film fit very well. Other than some minor editing choices, this film delivers a great love/human story... no spoilers here. I am a fan of Trainspotting, It's all Gone Pete Tong, Go and Groove. I feel this story fits nicely into these films as far as content/story go. I hope you enjoy it too and I am excited for it to come to America.
The Assistants (2009)
Great Story with heart
Great Film by film maker Steve Morris. The Assistants is a feel good story about USC film students who have great dreams of making it big in the movie industry coming out of college. After some time the realities of breaking through begin to assert themselves. This film does a fantastic job showing the lengths that some people will go to just get a shot at making it big. This film has a well blended mix of drama, comedy and a dash of suspense. The fact that this film is about film students really hit home with me because I could relate to some of the characters. The performance of the cast was better than some of the block busters I have seen this year. The story has a great arch once the students realize the power they hold. The soundtrack is very appropriate for the story and enhances the mood very well. Great Actors, Great Story Telling, Great Soundtrack and I look forward to this on DVD.

Never Winter (2010)
What an Amazingly dark film...
I recently viewed this film at the Starz Denver Film Festival & this film stirred emotions. The shots, lighting, editing and directing were very well done. The best part was the story and equally so, the lead actress. I was amazed at the professionalism that young lady showed and the guts the director had to pull this off. The special effects were beautiful as I spoke with the head effects guy after the film he told me it took months to get the look... it was well invested time. If you have a chance to see this film on the festival circuit, then don't miss it. Keep in mind it is a dark film that showcases the worst of American culture. I found myself wanting to jump out of my chair and help that girl but I believe that is what this director wanted to make me feel. If you can appreciate that, then you will appreciate this film. *I do not think I wrote a spoiler but I am checking the box just in case.
