Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)
Who cares? it has James
This is the best movie I've ever seen. James is the star of the show.
Hostiles (2017)
A deep and wonderful western
For a genre heavily loved by millions for half a century, this does very well for itself to stand on its own feet.
The film does a wonderful job starting off by setting the scene with a family massacred by natives. It feels tense and gory like it was really happening because there it feels like there is real stakes, in the first scene and throughout the whole movie.
I do have one gripe with one scene that kinda confuses me but its not huge. In a scene maybe 30 minutes in they are attacked by another tribe and they give a rifle to the chief that they are escorting and right off the bat they all trust the natives they are escorting even though they did not up to that point. I guess it makes sense but that is just up to me.
The ending actually made me feel sad.
The soundtrack/score/music in this is amazing and the scenes are breathtaking.
Overall I recommend this to western lovers as well as anyone who liked the revenant.
Life (2017)
It's not as bad as people say.
This movie is actually quite good. I have seen countless reviews from people who think they are critics and not one highlights what is good about this movie. This movie was scary, it was predictable yes but it was creepy and chilling. This movie had good pacing once things got started, the beginning is slow and boring but it doesn't take too long to start. The monster is really cool and the special effects are good.
Corner Gas: The Movie (2014)
I wept
I love this movie. I saw it 3 times when it was in theatres. I know it has flaws but it totally feels like an inside joke between the audience and the actors. I love the show but if you're not a fan of the show you might not get the jokes in the movie that are brought over. I am 100% biased but I have a feeling if you're that interested in this movie you are too.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)
Terrible Movie
To start, I have never seen a Harry Potter movie so my opinion is unbiased. This movie isn't worth seeing. It had so many plot holes that it wasn't funny and it dragged on so much longer than it should have. This movie was 2 hours and 13 minutes but you could have cut off at least half an hour if you took out all the useless conversations and the exposition. This movie, although it was dry and boring, the music and sound was very good and it was very good with the camera work. This movie also has a perfect love story waiting to happen, which I was routing for but they completely denied the possibility of it.
Passengers (2016)
Movie was meh
Movie was OK... but Jennifer Lawrence is hot in it. I mean the story was okay as far as chick flicks go, but it could have been so much better if it were just a straight science fiction movie. It really has so much more potential in it than what was used. Some parts were genuinely funny, some parts were heartwarming but it really just did not know what it wanted to be.
