Good visuals, little else
27 February 2023
Sequences of the fighter planes were great, although I often felt that I was watching a low-budget video game that had no ending to it.. Otherwise I saw nothing about this movie that would make me recommend it to a reasonably intelligent adult. The story line was entirely predictable and corny to beat. Another variation of boy meets former girlfriend who is divorced with a teenaged daughter who is wise beyond her years. The characters were an assortment of stereotypes. If they were really representative of their real world counterparts I would worry about the security of our country, particularly since they were held out to be "the best of the best". It was also way too long. I could not wait for it to be over.

Disappointing
6 September 2022
I'm reluctant to rate any show only three episodes into it but I doubt that my rating will change unless some more interesting things happen later. So far only three or four major characters have been introduced. All the others are court hangers-on trying to gain some favor from a wimpy king who is afraid of being outplayed by his headstrong brother. In the first episode of GOT a dozen or so major characters were introduced. As the series progressed several dozen others appears. All of them were interesting and well drawn and most were played by seasoned actors. This show is way too dark. Whoever was responsible for the cinematography should have his license revoked.

Update after episode 4. Things starting to come together. Events regarding the Princess came as a complete surprise. (Sarcasm alert.) Still at a 7 but trending lower.

Update after episode 5. This keeps getting worse and worse.

Thoroughly enjoyed it

This one was one of those little gems that I put in a special list that I maintain just for myself. I'm not going to claim it is great movie. It is a simple story that has been told over a dozen times to the point that it has become a cliche. But I don't care, dammit! I enjoyed just about everything about it and I don't really care what anybody else says about it.

Slow and plodding with way too many characters
8 May 2022
Made it through the first episode. Maybe a little more entertaining than watching grass grow but not by much. There were too many characters to keep track of and too many times when they all seemed to be in the scene together. This made for a lot of clutter on the screen which I found distracting and tiring. I don't ever recall making this comment about anything.

What a mishmash

Episode 1 was an unintelligible garble. I totally lost track of what was going on. Because if the accents I needed subtitles and these were often totally out of synch with the dialogue. Sometimes a phase would appear for only a split second, making it impossible to read.

Silly

I gave up during the scene where the whole team gathered at the potential victim's house in anticipation that the killer would show up that night and ended up catching the former's son. This was worthy of the Keystone Kops.

Good acting. Not much else.

Kathryn Hahn was great. Unfortunately, that was not enough to salvage an otherwise unremarkable production.

Good but points off for implausibly
27 April 2019
I enjoyed the series despite many of the situations being implausible. This is usually a put-off for me but the lead actress was terrific and the camerawork made up for that.

Drivel

I made it through the first 15 minutes of the first episode. It reminded me of a bunch of grade schoolers trying to figure out how to play with a new toy. I expect this sort of thing from the US but I hold the Aussies to a higher standard.
