Kollywood has finally turned its attention towards social issues and its by products. Starting from farmers' issue to medical scams, to child labour to present-day politics, the radar has widened over the years. Sigai is an addition to this line up which managed to make people realise the harms caused against transgender.

It's been two years since Sigai has been premiered in the All Lights India International Film Festival in Hyderabad. The movie made a positive impact on the audience during the premiering. After the success, the movie was released on Zee5, the second mainstream movie to be released in a streaming service.

The movie has two different messages to showcase. One is about the life and pain that sex workers go through on a daily basis and the other one is about the inequality faced by the transgender in India. The director has done a fantabulous job portraying both the messages.

The plot is very simple. It follows a crisp narration until the end of the first half. The nightlife of Chennai has been pictured to perfection. Each frame has its own story to speak. Once the initial set upset in the core story unfolds, the thrilling element that follows in the second half makes this movie a perfect watch for this weekend.

The second half is entirely different from the first, as it takes us into the world of Mathivanan, a transgender. It shows us the problems faced by the transgender which might even make you cry by the end of it. The movie ends with a message and the song on Transgender.

Performance: Kathir as Mathivanan is fresh from the success of Pariyerum Perumal and Vikram Vedha. He should get special applause just for accepting the role. It is a bold step in his career. He has done proper justice to the role in every frame. His posture, mannerism and dialogue delivery portrays his talent as an actor.

Meera Nair as Nirmala played her role with ease. Though she shares a small screen space, she has utilised it well. Raj Barath as Prasad is one of the characters you must look out for in the movie. The movie has a bunch of stars like Riythvika, Mayilsamy and others. Everyone has justified their roles.

Jagadeesan Subu has done a fair job, considering that this is his debut movie. His intention is clear from frame one to the end. He has done a lot of hard work in detailing the characters even in the short span of 95 minutes. Chetta using a diary to record phone numbers though he has a mobile phone, Prasad's care for Buvana are few examples of it. Navin Kumar's cinematography and Ron Ethan Yohann's music are some of the prominent elements of the movie. Their contribution to the movie was nothing less than flawless.

The problem with Sigai is its two different plots. Till the interval, the story is crisp and engaging, but once Mathivanan's character is introduced in the movie, the story starts to dilute. Though the intended message is clear, the portrayal is not so convincing at some places. If a little detailing about Mathivanan's childhood been added to the story, it would have made the movie a seamless one.

Apart from few hiccups, Sigai is a worthy watch for its message and performances by the actors. The director succeeds in making us feel for the sex-workers and the transgender, something that is so uncommon in films nowadays.

Ethan and his friends are trapped in an alley. Benji is scared and worried for his life. Ethan's words "I won't let anything happen to you Benji". The opening scene says it all. Ethan the man who values people than his mission yet again lands himself in trouble. Off course this mission is not a choice.

It's been 22 years since the first Mission Impossible film hit the theatres, Tom Cruise hasn't changed. He is ready to risk his life for the entertainment of his fans and movie lovers. Every time he takes the risk meter a notch above the earlier one. Be it hanging the cliff, leaping between buildings, boarding a flying helicopter he is the man of action.

Fallout is the recent addition to Tom Cruise's best ever franchise. Right from the word go Fallout is a treat. The movie never wasted a minute to suit up. The 148 minutes of entertainment is rich in action, marvel in stunts and brilliant in execution.

Unlike other MI movies Fallout is a direct sequel to its predecessor Rough Nation. Off course this is a first time that a director has directed two movies in this franchise. Though the movie is a sequel, one doesn't need to know the story of Rough Nation to watch Fallout, the movie is clear in implying the plot even to someone new to the franchise.

When Christopher McQuarrie was announced the director of Fallout, it surprised everyone, as this is the first time a director has directed two movies in Mission Impossible franchise. But, he proved to be the perfect man to direct Fallout. His direction has made Fallout the best in the franchise (According to my opinion).

Technically the movie is brilliant, especially the locations where the stunts were performed, like the climax in Kashmir (Though not mentioned in the movie). Fallout stands out the best in the franchise. Music by Lorne Balfe is too good during stunts, his music has elevated the stunts a step higher through his music. Rob Hardy's camera speaks for itself. His work during the stunt scenes are exceptional.

Above all the casting is perfect as a bullet. From Ving Rhames to Alec Baldwin, the cast has done justification to their roles. Roping Henry Cavil as Walker is the high point of the movie. Though we miss his action till the climax, he adds perfect flavour to the cast.

Mission Impossible Fallout is the best in the franchise so far. Don't miss the action packed 148 minutes. The best action movie of the year.

Anthology is one of the toughest of genres for a director. Bejoy Nambiar has taken one such effort and made a near perfect movie. Solo tells us four different stories of four different characters. There are few things that connect the story like lost love, elements of nature and Lord Shiva.

The best aspect about Solo is its stunning visuals. Each story differ from one another in terms of theme set. The first follows water, the second air, third fire and the final one earth. Each element is portrayed exceptionally through the characters and the visuals.

The exceptional visuals are equally complimented by the music. It is easily the best that south India has produced this year. At times music dominates the visuals. Be it the song during the wedding, Roshomon used in the army camp or the Aygiri Nandini song each stands alone in its own way.

Apart from Visuals and Music, Dulquer is the cherry on the cake. It is one of Dulquer's best movies. He has done an exceptional job. He lived as the characters in each story, especially in the second half. Though the female leads don't have much screen space they have done their part well. Sai Dhansika and Sruthy Hariharan stands in our hearts by their performances.

Speaking about the stories, the first two didn't have much impact comparing the last two. It's really surprising that Bejoy has shown two different works, one before the interval and the one after the interval. The one that brings Dulquer as the Gangster is the best among the four.

The melodrama works better at few instance, especially the second half. But, it seems a little over done towards the end. The last few minutes seem like a TV serial, few characters goes out of focus. May be the one shot experiment played its part.

Apart from few glitches and lagging last few minutes Solo is a must watch for its Visuals, Music and Dulquer. Remember that it narrates four different stories, it's better to watch it without expectations.

Nolan is known for his mind boggling screenplay and storytelling. This time he has come out with a rather dull story with extraordinary movie making. The story is not so new a war that shakes the earth how soldiers fight for their life. What works in the movie is the way the story is conveyed.

Nolan has taken three different links that end up at the same point. Few minutes into the film might confuse the watchers (As Nolan does every time), but once the enlightenment happen the movie takes us inside. Especially the last half an hour of the movie is a thrill ride.

Music is the major aspect of the movie, it elevates the story and makes us to feel the scenes. At times we are left with no music but once it picks up we can actually live the scenes rather than watching it. I took the bullets myself when watching the movie (The marvel of movie making).

Cinematography by Hoyte Van Hoytema is perfect to plant the scenes in our mind. Lee Smith's editing helps us to understand the story better. The last half an hour is the perfect example of his hard work.

Above Christopher Nolan's master mind has made a dull story into a memorable experience. It is the experience that any Hollywood lovers don't want to miss. Nolan has added another feather to his hat.

Pixar has changed the way animation movies are received. They have excelled in catching audience's minds through Toy Story, Wall-E, The Incredibles and Inside out. Cars were not probably the one among them.

The franchise has lagged when Cars 2 hit the screens. But, Cars 3 has changed the course of the franchise. Though the story is not new, the way it unfolds keep the audience engaged, especially the last half an hour.

If you liked Cars 1 then Cars 3 will make you love the franchise (Cars 2 might not). The characterization was near perfect. The voices of Owen Wilson as McQueen and Cristela Alonzo as Cruz Ramirez add the charm to the movie.

Visually the movie is as good as every Pixar movies. Kids will celebrate the movie for sure. A worthy watch if you like animation movies. A must watch if you love the Cars franchise.

The initial set up of the movie is enough to make a good impression about the movie and 8 Thottakkal has done just that. Initial few minutes into the movie makes us think it's worth the money. The mystery behind the gun, the twists and turns, mind boggling narration keep us hooked throughout the first half.

The second half might feel a bit slow, especially the songs. One might wonder whets the need of this song here. Apart from the song and a few leggy moments the movie sticks to its core subject. Once you watch the complete movie you will have a satisfied movie watching experience.

Though the movie has many characters it's MS.Basker who stands out. So far we have seen him as a comedian (At least in most of the movies), but Sri Ganesh has other idea for him. Ganesh has penned a perfect character to bring out excellent performance from MS.Baskar. His acting, dialogue delivery and expressions are simply superb.

Vetri as the cop has done justification to his role. He has delivered what is needed from his character. Apart from the lead characters each and every character is important in the movie and everyone stays in our hearts with their performance.

Cinematography is the biggest plus to the movie. Every frame is set in keeping the story in mind. He hasn't done anything unseal to annoy us. Music was great in the first half, but it would have been a bit better in the second.

It is Sri Ganesh who steals the show. His direction and characterization are carries the movie throughout. His in depth research about his subjects and perfect picturisation of each character speaks his hard work. Hats off to him.

On the whole 8 Thottakkal is one of the best movies of 2017.

Why did Emma miss the musical romance La La Land for Beauty and the Beast was the worried question thrown at her by her fans. But after watching the live action movie (Beauty and the Beast) the question has become pointless.

Beauty and Beast is a near perfect movie in all the aspects. Bill Condon's directorial keeps the audience spell bound at times. The visuals are fresh and colorful. The costumes, the CGI, the castle adds extra color to the already mesmerizing visuals.

The background score and the songs compliments the story. Alan Menken's work has traveled along the nerves of the movie and lives in our hearts. Apt song selections and placements are perfect.

Experiencing something you have already experienced (At least in animation) might bore, but Bill Condon has mastered the art. His direction never lets down the audience. He has worked hard in each and every detail which is a huge plus for the movie.

Cast performance:

Emma Watson as Belle would make everyone fall for her. It is the perfect character for her, instead she is the perfect pick for the character. She is charming as ever, the costumes brighten her beauty. Though the little alteration to her character might not impress few, she still emerges our favorite.

Dan Stevens as the Beast does his job to perfection. The visual effects might shade his expressions his acting saves for it. A perfect beast and a lover.

The voice by Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson, and Stanley Tucci for the antiques in the castle were excellent. An adorable addition to the already strong cast.

What works:

What didn't work:

* Emma's character alteration (A mild one though) * The first Gay moment in Disney (Might be because of the controversies)

On the whole it's a never miss movie. Watch it for Emma, Visuals, special effects, music and Bill Condon's direction.

Inspired by many movies Jordan Vogt-Roberts has brought Kong: Skull Island. Though the largest ape to ever live (At least in movies) was so popular in Hollywood and appeared time to time on the screens was last seen in 2005 with Peter Jackson behind the script. Jordan has given some new colors to the original Kong with a modulated script.

Unlike other Kong movies or monster movie you don't have to wait long to meet Kong instead he shows up in the first scene itself. Though Kong's screen presence is reduced, still he impresses us whenever he shows up. The fights between Kong and the other monsters are a treat to watch.

Since frame one the movie is on the script. The character introductions are crisp and fast. We land in Skull Island within the first 15 minutes into the movie. The enchanting visuals keep the audience hooked. Jordan along with Larry Fong has captured the island with some appealing visuals. The slow motion effect adds up to the excitement.

The monsters that pop up time to time enthralls and we could here wows now and then in the theatre. The final battle between Kong and the Skull Crawler is the top notch. Apart from all the background score is the best thing I enjoyed about the movie. The songs like Jefferson Airplane ("White Rabbit"), Black Sabbath ("Paranoid"), Creedence Clearwater Revival ("Bad Moon Rising") and David Bowie ("Ziggy Stardust") were used to perfection.

Lags: Though the movie is great up to some extend it does have many down falls. The story doesn't fall in line and the editing adds up to the misery. Few forced scenes might raise our doubt over the perfection of the movie.

The movie has a strong cast, but except Samuel L. Jackson and John C. Reily no one has much to offer (Only for marketing). Apart from all Kong is not so emotional this time which is rather unlikely in Kong movies. He just shares a brief moment with Brie where she touches him, but that isn't emotional.

At times some funny one liners are thrown in but fades before it settles down. The slow motion effect is good, but a little too much.

Final words: Lags apart Kong: Skull Island is a must watch if you love monster movies. Children would love it and are advised to watch it with parent – The movie is violent (A little). The post credits show that more monster movies are to follow and next time it would be a fight between Godzilla and the Kong.

Lokesh Kanagaraj a debutant (Which is hard to believe) has delivered an exciting movie watching experience. Managaram is a kind of movie which doesn't fall even for a minute (Not even in the songs).

The movie starts off with different characters and different lives moves into something unexpected. Though it has too many characters, Lokesh hasn't wasted time in introductions. The story webs around us from frame one.

No character is wasted, each and every character contributes something to the plot. The story travels at a phase, that if a scene is missed we might lose track. The planning and execution of each scene is a master class of Lokesh's screenplay.

The suspense that travels along with the plot keeps the audience hooked, even a one minute song might make us restless- an edge of the seat thriller. Lokesh's brilliant yet again takes him high in the climax, the end of the movie might give a confident booster because of the message it delivers.

Technical aspects: Technically the movie is strong, thought eh technicians are almost new. Cinematography by SK Selvakumar shows the reality of the metro. Each and every frame of his is real. We might encounter any of it in our real life.

Music by Javed Riaz has taken the movie to another extent. Though he doesn't have much to prove in songs the BGM works great time. Philomin's editing is tight packed. She has done an exceptional job in bringing Lokesh's screenplay to life.

Above all its Lokesh Kanagaraj's who has done ample of hard work which is evident throughout. His screenplay, the characters, the technical brilliance everything is a clear indication of his passion towards cinema. Though this is his debut he has taken over some experienced directors with his work for sure. Kollywood has got a brilliant director.

Cast performance: Cast has worked great time for the movie. Sundeep Kishan as a kind hearted rough guy has exhibited excellence. He was equally contributed by Sri who has lived his character throughout. Though Regina doesn't have much to contribute still she impresses. Charlie's acting has proved he wasn't used well by other directors. He does his character with ease. Above all its Munishkanth (Ramdoss) , he steals the whole movie with his funny dialogues. His comedy has worked in a great time and never falls flat. One of his career bests.

On the whole Managaram is a must watch for any moviegoer. It will stay in the hearts as one of the best screenplays ever.

Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva has finally hit the screens. After postponed for four to five times the producers have finally got the green flag. This is Raghava Lawrence's first outing since Kanchana 2 in 2015.

Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva is a complete masala entertainer. The movie starts with the usual intro formalities of both the protagonist and the antagonist – Off course a small portion of introduction for the actress as well. First half moves with rather a dull screenplay until the last half an hour before the interval.

The half an hour before the interval arrests the audience with sentiment, few twists adds to the goodwill (You can hear OK the movie is good, voices). The second half is predictable since the first frame. The cat and mouse game between Lawrence and Ashutosh Rana looks good till a certain point. But, towards the end one might feel when the climax is. The climax is another 'I know this would happen'.

Predictable story is not new to masala movies, Motta Shiva is no different. Few might find the story predictable since the first few minutes into the movie (At least in the second half). Songs at regular intervals kept the audience stretching –might find the songs an enforced one (It's a masala movie after all).

Comedy portions works well at times. Though they are a bit outdated, it still works (At times). Kovai Sarala along with Sathish and Chaams have done a decent job, family audience would love it. On the whole it's a complete family entertainer (oh I missed masala) with a predictable screenplay.

Cast performance: Raghava Lawrence has done an exceptional job. The story seems to be a tailor made one for him with mass dialogues and stylish stunts (illogical though) and he does it with ease. His expressions are a bit awkward at times but still enjoyable. Off course his dance is the top notch, a flexible pair of legs- extraordinary.

Sathyaraj as Kirubakaran is apt for the character. The police uniform suits him well. His expressions and acting hasn't aged at all. Ashutosh Rana as the antagonist or GP has done a decent job. Though he fails to send shivers as villain, he delivers what is needed from him for this movie.

Nikki Galrani doesn't have much to offer to the story, but she has utilized her role well. The producer should have funded more to her clothing instead of lipsticks.

Kovai Sarala, Sathish and Chaams are good along with Lawrence they impress with their comedy scenes. The party comedy was my favorite. Rai Lakshmi's dance was equally good as Lawrence in her only screen presence.

Technical aspects: Sarvesh Murari's camera was good, especially in the action scenes. Debutant Amresh's music is good in the songs but the background is not so impressive, should have been a bit better. Stunts are OK illogical though.

Sai Ramani has taken the 2015 super hit Telugu movie Pataas and blended it for the Tamil audience. He has done a decent job. He should have trimmed the mass dialogues. It has been stretched beyond the necessity. He excels in sentiment scenes.

Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva is a masala entertainer which family audience would love- keep the kids away during songs. Pushing the logics aside the movie is a onetime watch.

Set in the future and no proper time explained (Might be 2029) Logan is one of the bests of the franchise. Who knows this movie might change the future of the superhero movies as well. Logan unlike other super hero movies is emotional, moving and plot centric.

From scene one the movie takes the audience in and one might want to watch it without interruption. The aging of the Logan and the emotional bond between the lead characters are surprising and moving as well. Laura's character was a great add and one would fall in love with her. The film gave us a different, but great super hero movie experience.

The aging of Logan was evident from scene one. When he struggles to get rid of the thieves who are after his car, Logan indicates that we are to watch a different Wolverine. His life moves on with tired days and Charles by his company (Off course Alcohol). Though he is old, his action scenes are brutal as ever (Age <18 better stay away), Laura adds more cruelty to it.

As mentioned Laura is a great add to the finale. Her character is the core of the plot and sheds surprises at times. Charles being in the back seat sends emotional shivers throughout and advises Logan as usual.

Cast performance: Hugh Jackman is aware that this is his last outing as Logan and has ruled the screen. He excels in action scenes and equally in the emotional scenes. His expressions are standalone. This movie will go as one of his bests in his career.

Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney is my favorite in the movie. She is a great find for the Hollywood industry. With her fast movements in the action scenes and exceptional acting she is going to give a tough competition for the actors/actresses of her age.

Patrick Stewart as Charles has done what is needed for his character and he does it with perfection. Richard as the antagonist is terrifying. His acting might go behind Logan still he manages to threaten as the villain.

Direction: This is James Mangold's second directorial in the Wolverine franchise. He didn't bother to put his protagonist as a week and emotional superhero; he has succeeded in doing so. His love for westerns has given a different shade to Logan which is great to watch as well. His direction gets life with John Mathieson's camera and Marco Beltrami's music.

On the whole Logan is a different superhero movie and a must watch for Hollywood lovers (No need to be a superhero lover).

John Wick one of the best action movies of the decade is back. Did you love the John Wick Chapter 1 (Prequel) then Chapter 2 will make you go crazy for the franchise. Director Chad Stahelski, a stunt man himself knows the pulse of the audience and adds what is needed. He has given extreme importance to the action scenes and he succeeds as well.

Though the action starts after almost an hour into the movie, the wait is worth. Even the built up for the action sequences are good than the action itself. The initial hour narrates the story and it is better than the prequel (Far better). Chad might be aware that the prequel didn't have depth in the plot.

Keanu reeves has given another mind blowing performance. He is a natural in action scenes, his looks and expressions stands long. He utters only less dialogues which adds up the style as John (Thanks to Chad). After Neo, Keanu has got John to stick in our hearts. Riccardo Scamarcio as Antonio has contributed as much as Keanu (Sequel beats prequel this time). He just make phone calls to execute his plans which is better suited for the villain of John.

It is difficult to take a franchise to new level, we have seen many directors trying some extravagant addition in each installment of their franchise. But Chad doesn't need all those, rather he does what he does the best. He didn't exaggerate or degrade the franchise instead he did the same as the prequel, but this time far better.

John Wick lovers and action lovers will celebrate the movie for sure. The length of the action scenes might feel too much for sure, but I believe it won't be for action lovers. On the whole John Wick Chapter 2 is a great action entertainer. Kudos for the whole team The open ended climax has all possibilities for Chapter 3.

The first Indian submarine war film the tag is enough to pull the audience to the theaters but Sankalp Reddy doesn't want to disappoint the audience only with the tag line. Ghazi attack is one of the best patriotic films in the recent past.

Ghazi Attack is a great watch for a movie lover. From the word go it engulfs the audience, no commercial elements to boost the box office (Thank god). The first few minutes of the movie is enough to guess the story, but the screenplay plays the hero here.

A captain with 'attack first' mind, a rule breaking is offense kind of Lt.Commander, a good supporting second in command captain are great add. The first half was a bit slow comparing the second, but it doesn't bore.

The second half owns the whole movie. The war sequences are gripping; especially when the Indian submarine faces an uphill task the audience might feel the pressure (Though predictable).

Each move by the submarines, be it the Indian's or the Pakistani's will keep the audience hooked. The unusual situation and the way the soldiers come out of it were pictured well (Though a bit cinematic). The climax and the national anthem were enough for Goosebumps.

Cast performance: Cast selection was great, Kay Kay Menon as the Captain Ranvijay Singh has lived the role throughout the movie. Being a politically correct officer is not his cup of cake and he does it with ease. His acting and expressions plants him as one of the favorite characters form the movie.

His second in command Atul Kulkarni (Devaraj) was equally good. He scores in every frame he is present. Though his expressions are controlled he delivers what he has to. A perfect addition for the character.

Rana Daggubati as the Lt.Commander takes the back seat until the war is way out of hand. His expressionless face bores for sometime but once he takes the control of the submarine he excels both in war and in acting.

Tapsee Pannu doesn't have much screen presence, but justifies her role. She should have got a little more screen presence (after all she is the only female in the crew). All the other characters have done their part, but don't fit the navy dress.

Team review: Sankalp Reddy in his first directorial has impressed with a great story and a first of its kind movie. He has to relay mostly on his story and the cast in which he manages to excel. He didn't waste time in any unwanted songs or commercial elements (Kudos bro). Though he was given limited resources , he has done a great job.

K's music was the pulse of the story. His BGM creates a great cinematic experience. Cinematography by Madhie has another plus of the movie.

Thought the movie has few sidelines like the VFX it's a great attempt for a debut director. He manages to keep the audience engaged throughout the movie. The whole team needs a pat on the back for bringing in the first of its kind movie.

While leaving the theater everyone would feel proud of the country and the soldiers who die for the nation.

Short review: Legal life, courtroom and common man behind law are rare in cinematic world, especially in the recent past. There are only a handful of movies which speak about it. Subash Kapoor has to be applauded for bringing in the pain of a common man and his trust on law that is being demolished.

Jolly LLB the lawful franchise is back again this time with Akshay's touch. The movie is funny, informative and emotional. The first half was crisp and fast. Funny dialogues and Akshay Kumar's acting will keep the audience hooked.

The second half moves into courtrooms. Though the second half moves with a strong message and sticking the reality at regular intervals, it has some speed breakers. The climax will bring the emotional part of the audience for sure.

A Little analysis: The first half was totally owned by Akshay Kumar. His crimes using the legal loopholes will feed the funny side. Akshay and his whiskey loving wife (Huma) have brought in enough cheer and smile. The best part of the first half is it has excellent mix of both fun and emotion. Sayani Gupta has done the emotional justification in the first half.

Post interval courtroom becomes the major location. Jolly's struggle with his below average knowledge in courts and the double agent officials shows the pain of a common man. The director (Subash Kapoor) has tried to educate the audience with Indian Penal Code which works to an extent.

The Cast: Akshay Kumar as Jolly was apt for the role. He never fails to entertain the audience whenever he is on screen, which was evident in Jolly LLB 2 as well. He excels in both funny and emotional scenes (Off course action as well). His expressions and dialogue delivery was top notch.

Saurabh Shukla as Justice Sunderlal Tripathi was excellent as the first part. He impresses the audience with his acting. His dance practices will bring in both laugh and anger among the audience.

Annu Kapoor as Parmod Mathur has enough acting to raise the hater on his role (just in the movie). Sayani Gupta and Huma have done justice for their respective roles.

Final words: Subash Kapoor has done exceptional research work under the law books. The major part of the movie deals with the law and its loopholes, he has never put a foot wrong. Though few might find the law educating scenes boring it was informative.

His mixture of fun and emotion was the top notch. When Jolly finds it difficult to move his case the audience would feel the pain in him. The wrong officials and the lethargic actions by them strike the painful reality.

The movie does feel a bit slow at times, especially in the second half. Leaving the minor flaws the movie does have a strong message and a great entertainment.

The story sets in soon after the title card. The first half an hour was slow. But once the investigation gets intense the movie, like the camera of Priyan moves faster. The last hour an hour before the interval kicked out the dizziness.

Second half has every element to entertain the audience – except a song. When the cat and mouse game begins between Surya and the antagonist there was no time to look back. Everything Surya does get a whistle from the audience. The climax was much predictable one. Hari has left the franchise open again.

Scenes analysis: As mentioned earlier the first half an hour or so was a drag. The item song adds up to the tiresome. A 10 minutes flashback about Surya and Anushka was enforced only for a song – It was predictable. Though few fans (including me) were busy preparing their mind for a boring film, Hari was busy webbing the story around.

Once Surya kicks the one day operation the story kick starts as well. The investigation scenes pull back the audience into the movie. The truth behind the murder of the commissioner was a possible reality. Though the audience knows the true antagonist, Surya was kept unknown throughout the first half (Pity of him). Unlike Singam 2 the interval block gives the Antagonist the upper hand.

After interval the movie travels as a cat and mouse game. The scenes in Australia were predictable with few Hari's touch. The way Surya catches the return flight to India was Goosebumps moment for Singam and Surya fans.

The hacking scenes were great for a movie but only technical team should answer the logic behind it. Each and every move by Surya in the second half brings in whistles. But the last fifteen minutes was a drag the movie again.

There are few emotional dialogues and proud moments as well. Singam plants himself as an Indian as well as a decent human being in every opportunity he gets.

Cast performance: Surya as Dhurai Singam has done an exceptional job. His entry just reveals what he is going to do the entire movie. His expressions in the action scenes, his emotional dialogues and confident walk carve him as a real police officer in the audience's mind. Surya fans will celebrate him throughout the movie for sure.

Anushka Shetty as Kavya was used only for a song and a few scenes. Her screen presence was comparatively less, but has done a good job.

Shruthi Hassan as Vidhya aka Agni impresses in the initial scenes, but once the movie sets in she does feel like a burden. She was introduced along with Surya in the same scene. Her character was predictable in the first half and her actions too in the second half. Off course she has a song to dance with Surya.

Sharat Saxena as Reddy was not that powerful as an antagonist. His physic does threaten but not his actions. Thakur Anoop Singh as Vittal Prasad was a muscular antagonist. He has done a decent job. Though his slang was not understandable at times, he manages impress the audience.

Soori was roped in for comedy track which fails miserably. It slows down the phase of the movie and it didn't create a moment of laughter as well. Robo Shankar who was seen as a comedian so far has got a serious role which he delivers with perfection (But watching his comedies were good rather than a serious police officer).

Krish as Surya's assistant has delivered what was needed for the role. Radhika Sarath Kumar and Sarath Babu Impresses in the fewer frames they appear. All the other characters have done a good job.

Team Technical aspects: Priyan, the man behind the camera has done a great job. His camera has traveled at the same phase as the story. Off course it travels from a continent to continent in seconds. Editing by V.T.Vijayan and T.S.Jay was good as well. They have placed the right scenes at the right time.

Harris Jeyaraj was one of the greatest disappointments I felt. The BGM was OK but not that appealing. Once the words Singam… Singam… fades away the BGM too fades with it. Wifi Wifi was the only line I could remember from the songs. I am sorry sir but that's the truth.

Hari has put in lot of hard works. As I said before many franchise fails after the first movie but Hari still maintain the tempo of Singam. His screenplay was great and crisp. He hooks in the audience till the end of the movie (Except the climax). Though his stories are predictable he makes it exciting.

Negatives: Though the movie was a fast phased and entertaining one there few side-lines as well. The first half an hour sets the story but fails to impress. Shruthi's character feels like a forced one. Once her true identity is revealed she doesn't have anything to do. Soori's comedy track was another forced element. Most of his scenes slow down the movie.

There were many logical loop holes. I am not sure about the hacking part but why all the officers except Surya and his team were double agents? One might feel the same when watching the movie. In the entire police department Surya was the only brainy. All the others wait for him to crack the code. Human bodies were thrown like a cricket ball throughout the movie. Surya is the only man shoots the criminals without failing.

Though the sidelines drag the movie the tight screenplay and Surya's acting will never let you down. The Singam franchise saves itself with another hit for sure. Family audience will love it; if you are a lover of mass entertainer don't miss it. Surya's fans will go crazy.

Kung Fu Yoga was named after the co-production of Indo-Chinese partnership. Of course there is a lot of Kung Fu, but wait a minute where is Yoga? You can't see a bit of Yoga in it.

The movie was good as far as Jackie and the action scenes are concerned. Jackie Chan was excellent in his stunts and comic expressions. He hasn't disappointed his fans and he brings in a surprise dance performance in the item song.

Apart from Jackie nothing works in the movie. Even Jackie Chan's actions are restricted at times. The movie travels from China to India, a bit of Dubai for just one car chase scene. Too much of information are poured in the first 10 minutes of the movie which actually confuses the audience.

Kung fu yoga poster Few minutes into the movie just feels this is not going to be what it should be. The beginning doesn't feel like a beginning, It just starts abruptly which indeed has driven out the excitement in watching the movie.

Sonu Sood who carries the Indian baddie role should have been a bit better. He doesn't feel like a baddie at times. Disha Patani as Jackie's lead is OK. Wearing some high valued ornaments, dresses with fur are the major contribution she delivers. The age old rope tricks, some floating tricks by sadhus might impress few (Does the movie really belongs to 2017?).

The item song which casts the entire cast was one of the few good moments in the movie. It was great and watching Chan dance was extremely pleasing. There are few good moments to wake the sleeping audience.

On the whole the movie is one time watch for family audience.

Enter the zombie's world once again for one last time (Probably the last I believe). Resident Evil the name that has driven horror for the past 15 years has come to end.

The final chapter is better than the previous few installments. Paul Anderson has webbed a fantasy end for this billion dollar franchise. Seems he has done with gore and wants to give it a fantasy finish.

The first one hour of the movie feels like a drag. Running away from the zombies, escaping some weird animals and off course Alice's stunts. But, the last 40 minutes might save the movie. Once Alice enters the umbrella's hive the movie takes a different shade. The truth that Alice finds out in the hive will shock the fans (Resident Evil fans) for sure.

The movie excels in storytelling, especially the last 30 minutes. At least better than few previous parts. Few surprises here and there has kept the audience hooked up. There is enough horror in the first one hour of the movie to deaf our ears.

Though it is OK than previous parts, is it enough for a finale? The movie does feel like a never ending video game in the first one hour. Zombie bites, unrecognizable new species and umbrella employees were pouring in. Off course Alice escapes with ease with just a fraction to spare.resident evil 6

The story is predictable and has lot of loop holes. When Alice enters the building with human population one would predict that a team will be ready to assist her, so does it. Though the director tried few stylish stunts and actions, it does feel like a mess at times.

Milla Jovovich, the only character to survive the whole series excels again. She is great even after so many years of running and killing. She does what she does every time and off course with perfection. Her fans would love her in the action scenes, her looks haven't changed as well. The stylish poses and the actions were a treat to watch.

Paul Anderson has done an average job this time. The action sequences, the gores that follows one after another seems like a forced addition. Though he surprises us in the hive scenes, the first one hour would have been tuned.

Apart from the side-lines the movie is a must watch for Resident Evil fans and followers. Whistles guaranteed in the last few minutes of the movie.

Lakshman who has raised to fame by his debut directorial Romeo Juliet has produced another intelligent drama. This time he has hooked up the Thani Oruvan duo and the duo has rocked once again.

The plot of Bogan is intelligent and well-crafted one. The importance given to the antagonist was excellent. Aravind Swamy who has threatened Kollywood as Sidharth Abimanyu (Thani Oruvan) has delivered another energetic performance. As Aditya he has hypnotized everyone on screen and off screen. He is natural as a baddie (No offense).

Jayam Ravi as Vikram is as impressive as Aravind Samy. The police officer in Ravi is always a treat to watch and he doesn't disappoint. Be it a straight forward police officer or the baddie (Baddie? Have to watch the film :P) Ravi scores distinction.

Hansika Motwani has little to offer in terms of screen presence but she manages to plant herself in the audience's mind. All the other characters have done their part well. But it is all the way Jayam Ravi and Aravind Swamy's show.

Bogan Lakshman has done a great screenplay. The first half was entertaining and tops in the interval block. The second half is on and on a cat and mouse game between the positive and negative. The thrill in the second half never leaves till the climax.

The biggest positive of the movie is the way the negative role was portrayed. There are scenes were the baddie over shadows the hero which brings whistle in the theaters (Especially for Aravind Swamy). The errors that Jeyam Ravi makes as a cop was a reality touch.

Soundarajan's hard work behind the camera is evident throughout the movie. D.Imman's background was brilliant and boosts the screenplay, but he fails to score in songs (Except Damaal Dumeel). Every department has given it's best to make the movie a hit.

The length of the movie might play boring game on few. Otherwise it's a great show by Ravi and Aravind.

The initial few minutes constructs a triangular love story, but Varun's accident kick starts the thriller in it. The second half of the movie was great especially the investigation part. Balasaravanan in the second half was a good add.

Though the plot is great, the screenplay looks a bit lagging for a thriller. One might feel the screenplay should have been a little tighter. The dialogues are direct and that punches out the thrill from the plot. Second half of the movie was the savior.

Adhe Kangal Kalaiyarasan as Varun shines. He has delivered what was needed for the role. Be it the blind chef or the one who search for his lady love, he excels. Janani Iyer as Sadhana was cute and perfected her character. But it was Sshivada who steals the show with her excellent acting and charming looks. Her mysterious smiles were added thrill. She is a great find to the industry.

This is Rohin Venkatesan's debut movie as a director. He has done a decent job. His portrayal of the female leads was great. Than romance the female leads have major contribution to the film. His narration in the second half needs applauding. A little more effort in the first half would have planted him as one of the best finds.

C.V.Kumar the producer of the flick should be appreciated for his trust in the debut directors and bringing them to the big stage. There are only few crowd pulling producers in the industry and Kumar is one among them.

The plot and few of the casts have saved the movie from the lagging screenplay. On the whole the movie is a decent thriller that needs a little touch up in the screenplay.

The story is not new to the industry, but the director has coloured it with a decent screenplay. The movie mostly relies on Hrithik and he has given his 100%. His hard work was evident throughout the movie.

The romantic scenes between Hrithik and Yami Gautam were great. They share an excellent chemistry which carries the first half. Yami has portrayed exceptional acting and impresses the audience. The couple looks perfect in songs and romantic scenes.Kaabil Ronit and Rohit Roys as the baddies shine in the second half. The cruelty of their character, the political powers they exhibit, the criminal intents they posses will make them hate. But that's the plus of their character.

Sanjay Gupta's direction adds the additional spice to the movie. Though the movie is mostly predictable Sanjay has made the audience guessing at times. Few minutes into the movie will hook up the audience for sure. The director has to be applauded for smart fight sequences (A little illogical but good thinking), few suspense elements and the romantic scenes.

Though the acting department saves the movie the sidelines cannot be shaded. The second half is mostly predictable and nothing new there. The action sequences are well planned but seems illogical at times, director should have concentrated a little more in the graphics department. Music is not that appealing especially in the songs (The item song, is it necessary?).

Apart from the above the movie has every element to entertain the audience. As I mentioned though it is predictable the screenplay saves the movie. Watch it if you are a die-hard Hrithik Roshan fan, general audience might find it a little average one.

Shah Rukh Khan as Raees rocks as usual. He lives as a don throughout the movie. The anger in his face, the romance that he showcases, the sentiment he experiences and the fights he undergoes shows he hasn't aged at all. The style he carries as a don will bring whistles in the theaters for sure.

His dialogue delivery is perfect as ever. He impresses in every frame. One of the best roles Shah Rukh has done in his career. His lead pair Mahira Khan as Aasiya has little screen presence. But she has utilized it well. Be it the sentiment scenes or the romantic part she is a perfect addition. A little more of her screen presence wouldn't have spoiled the movie.

As Shah Rukh, Nawazuddin Siddiqui does have a powerful role. He walks with pride as the ACP Majmudar. His acting was perfect and does what was needed for the role. I won't say it's his best ever, but he delivers what was needed.

Rahul Dholakia's direction was excellent. He has handled both the character to the perfection. Whereas directing Shah Rukh or Nawazuddin, he has added the right blend. The recreation of the 90's time frame was the top notch. The battery scenes are good add, Mahira is the only one spared for calling Shah Rukh the battery.

Cinematography by K.U.Mohana and the music by Ram Sampath are added colour. Sunny Leone sizzles as Laila.

Though the screenplay is good the story is way old one. There are few side-lines like messed up action sequences and a dragging second half. Director should have concentrated in trimming the second half.

It's a must watch if you are a die-hard Shah Rukh fan, but as a common movie goer few might find it boring in the second half.

It is another inspirational movie on a billionaire. Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc lives the character. His acting was exceptional, the way he portrays Ray was to the perfection. Ray's character was not that easy to portray. He is not that desired of power as well as not one of the common men. It was a tight role which Keaton excels.

All the other characters have justified their roles. But it was all Keaton all the way as the movie requires him to do. There are best moments which include Keaton alone that gives Goosebumps. His strategies and milestone scenes will inspire aspiring entrepreneurs.

John Lee Hancock has done a good job as a director. When it comes to a biographical movie the protagonist's positive traits should be highlighted and the negative traits should be shown with fewer importance. Hancock has handled it with care and scores good.

It is almost similar to David Fincher's 'The Social Network' but David has a tight screenplay whereas Hancock lags. At times the movie slows down. Apart from the sideline the movie is a confidence booster for amateur businessmen.

Vin Diesel shines as Xander Cage. Whatever franchise Diesel is added to will be a crowd puller. XXX is no different, the action sequences are tailor made for Diesel. He looks stylish and performs his role with ease. As usual he is in almost every frame which is a huge plus.

Deepika Padukone as Serena Unger will bring in whistles from the Indian-Subcontinent. She is fast as Diesel and being an agent she holds on to the role perfectly. Her confidence attire plants her in the audience minds. The only side-line would be her forced American accent to match the Hollywood standards which is too much to ask from an Indian origin. But she does manages it to an extent.

The cast selection worked up to a mark. Donnie Yen as Xiang was OK for the role. His phase in the action scenes are delight, probably the next one for Jackie. But lags to impress as an antagonist. Other cast are less appealing as the whole movie travels behind Vin Diesel.

The previous versions of the same franchise has done enough rule breaking and new dimension in action sequences. So it would be difficult to bring in inventions but the movie manages to pull it. The Satellite crashing scene, zero-gravity fight in the air are well thought but less impressive (Already watched it in few flicks like Inception).

For an action lover the film is a must watch, particularly for Vin Diesel (Off course Deepika). Leaving the logical loop holes Xander Cage's return is a treat to watch.

The whole story revolves around Vijay, his screen presence is the biggest plus. The action sequences, emotional performances, romantic part and being funny he carries the entire movie on his shoulders. The only sideline would be his voice modulation at some places might seem artificial.

Keerthi Suresh as the lead pair has done her role to the perfection. She doesn't have much screen presence but has utilized her time span well. As a homely Nelai girl she excels in look as well as acting. The comedy track by Rajender and Sathish were peppered here and there. But one might feel few scenes should have been trimmed. Jagapathi Babu, Thambi Ramaiah and Daniel Balaji have put their experience into action, which worked well.

Though cast has done well, the screenplay falls flat. The first half was engaging with good scenes here and there to keep the audience engaged. But the second half falls flat. The one bold step by the director was to keep Vijay away from the much predictable flashback, which is a rarity in Vijay's film. If you go to a masala entertainer you should be ready to accept logical loop holes. The same happens here, especially in the second half the movie becomes predictable and finishes with less excitement.

The savior would be the interval block fight scene, pre climax fight scene and few others. Vijay has energized the action scenes and his fans will go crazy. The cricket fight bring in Whistles for sure.

D-16, one of the best thrillers in the recent times. Directed by the debutant Karthick Naren. Debutant? Yes, one would wonder how this is possible by a debutant. Karthick directing his first movie has done an exceptional job.

The first crime scene might seem average, but there on it's entirely a different movie. Each and every scene is planned to perfection and keeps the audience engaged till the end. Suspense is what Karthick masters, he keeps everyone guessing till it is unraveled.

Rahman as Deepak has justified his role. His Malayalam dipped slang might seem a bit unfit but it doesn't over shadow his acting. The story was narrated from Rahman's point of view. Almost all the other faces are new. Everyone has done an exceptional job.

Characterization was another plus no unwanted or annoying characters. Every character has contributed something to the plot. The background score by Jakes Bejoy has travelled along the movie that plants each and every scene in mind. Cinematography is another technical aspect that lifts the movie. Sujith Sarang with the camera has to be lauded for his efforts.

It's a nail biter one might find travelling along the story till the very end. Karthick is another find for Kollywood. When we leave the movie halls we might still feel suspense circling our heads (Few twists have been left to be judged by the audience).
