Yûsha Yoshihiko (2016)
A funny low budget Japanese roll playing game drama
Many people still believe that Japanese people are generally diligent, quiet and shy but if you happen to see Yusha Yoshiko (=Yoshihiko The Hero) you would be blown away by how far Japanese people could go doing silly and hilarious drama.
If you are non-native speaker of Japanese language and have never lived in Japan you may have trouble understanding some wired jokes because many of their stories could be parodies of Japanese TV dramas, films and TV ads.
But even if you don't understand these trends and fads their acting would make you smile.
Marrying Mr. Darcy (2018)
The main character was very childish and self-centred.
I pretty much enjoyed Unleashing Mr. Darcy but the sequel was a total let down.
I felt Elizabeth to be ungrateful and did not know about how the real business world works. Also, if your relatives and family wanted to have a big wedding let them have it and you could plan a simple, small wedding party afterwards with your friends on a different date. How can you cut down the number of guest list when you own a big business and have a large number of friends and relatives that you miss or have not seen them for a long time.
Although, I understand Aunt Violet could be pushy and preferred elegance where as Elizabeth likes simple things, Aunt Violet had put all her life into bringing up both Darcy, her husband-to-be and his little sister so Elizabeth should not act ungrateful and immature towards her. She could have respected Violet's ideas and let her take the lead over the wedding.
Elizabeth can have a small wedding party on a different day so why complain when she is not the one who is paying?!
Also, I'm totally surprised to see Elizabeth telling Darcy what to do about his work. She has no idea how to lead an honest and hard working life. I mean if you don't work hard you will lose your job one day and might have to live on the streets. I don't think she is a good role model for students.
As a few people have reviewed, I wished Darcy had dumped her before the wedding and met somebody who is more caring, considerate and knew more about the REAL WORLD. (well, they could make another TV film with a title "Ending a marriage with Elizabeth." and write the script from the guy's point of view.)
I wish I had not seen this sequel as the first one was quite good.
Bu xiu de shi guang (2016)
**Spoiler Alert** I once was young and now...
==Spoiler Alert===
Good and bad things will happen in life. If I were under 20 years old, I may have cried my eyes out. Now, I'm nearly 50 years old, I had a fair share of hardships and I'm still battling my illness as well as looking after my elderly parents. This type of film make me feel that even if you're grief stricken and heart broken, you'll eventually become hungry and wanting to go to sleep. Yes, life goes on.
Despite the depressing end, I felt that we need to enjoy the present and try to live fully. Those historical incidents remind us that our happiness is built on efforts and sufferings of many victims and I'm truly grateful that we live in more free society. The viewers will appreciate that the camera beautifully captured the dynamic and unique Chinese landscape. Two years ago, I traveled through Yunnan Province and the film brought me back many good memories.
