Semmelweis (2023)
5/10
A crappy fairytale about a real-life hero
28 December 2023
I'm quite disappointed to be honest. The technical side of the movie is totally ok. A little bit claustrophobic for me as basically there are no open spaces in the movie but still technically the film is ok.

The real downside is the storyline itself. Basically nothing was as it's in the movie. The whole austrian-hungarian rivalry is a lie. Klein did not even exist. As such the whole laundry scandal is made up too. Emma is fictional too just as the espionage line. The autopsy of Kolletschka wasn't preformed by Semmelweis as he wasn't even in the country at the time of Kolletschka's death. Semmelweis only studied the notes of the autopsy. As such it couldn't not be a scandal.

If you watch the movie you just see a brainless propaganda movie. It's an absolute disgrace that wants you to think that mean austrians mistreated a hungarian genius just because his nationality. It's not better than those stupid soviet heroic movies.

Too bad that the filmmakers made a cheap and dumb propaganda movie instead of a historically accurate objective adaptation. Semmelweis should deserve more than that.

Napoleon (2023)

Pice of trash. An attempt to disgrace Napoleon
27 November 2023
The movie's only purpose is to prove Ridley Scott's greatness by portraying Napoleon in a very degrading way. To do that Scott basically lies through the whole movie.

Nothing has happened like it's in the movie. Not even the battles. In a battle we see Napoleon butchering all the austrians on ice. Never happened. We also see Napoleon to butcher unarmed civilians in Paris. Never happened. We see the russian tsar as a cool kid who defeated Napoleon. Yeah Napoleon lost many man due to famine and diseases. But the movie "forget" to highlight that the tsar sacrificed his own citizens just to hunger Napoleon. He burned his own cities and grain fields to make Napoleon unable to feed his men. All in all the tsar destroyed his own population to stop Napoleon. But the movie portrays him as a charming kid and Napoleon as some kind of monster...

Not to mention the law and justice system Napoleon established. Code Civil brought equality to all the people in France. Half of the world adopted it. Basically it is the root of nowadays justice system. He demolished noble privileges and gave people equal rights. Not surprising the movie not even mentions these facts. It was way more important to show one more bizarre unpleasing sex scene.

This movie is a disgusting attempt to discredit Napoleon. It's a selfish disgrace from an English director who must have been frustrated by France's greatest leader.

Scream VI (2023)

Better than the 5th movie
25 October 2023
IMHO this is the best sequel since the 3rd movie. I really enjoyed the big city environment and cinema setting. Also this killer inside the protagonist is quite interesting too. Another great thing is that we finally really moved on from Sidney. I mean I love her in the original movies but I really think we need to move on at some point to keep Scream alive. Otherwise it's just gonna be an endless nostalgia ride like the 5th episode which is absolutely pointless.

About the cast. Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter is just as gifted as beautiful. Jenna Ortega is great too. The only downside of the cast is Courteney Cox. Her face is just as expressionless as a ghost face mask.

In conclusion I think this is a great horror movie. Now I'm waiting for the 7th movie 🔪

Dumb and poorly executed
22 October 2023
I get it that it's a social critique, a satirical movie but it still s*ck. It reminds me to Britannia Hospital, however there is a big difference between the two movie. The Britannia is a perfectly written/directed/executed masterpiece while this one is a pile of garbage.

The concept itself is quite good but the way it's presented is painfully simple. Even my cat would understand the message without any hesitation. So it's like it was written by a 13 years old kid. Not to mention the visuals, it's like it is from the 90's. The acting is terrible too. Basically everything is wrong with this movie.

Honestly I would not recommend it to anyone.

Hellraiser (2022)

A decent remake
27 July 2023
A lot of reviews here complains that the Cenobites are much more alien likes than in the original; also that the movie is not so gory that the original. I think these people can't just simply watch the movie instead they constantly compare it to the original. I mean if you approach the 2022 remake as a fresh new movie and you like horror you'll probably enjoy it.

Acting, story telling and directing is way better in the new movie than in the original. To be honest the original movie is like a full garbage except the cenobites. Don't get me wrong I loved the original movie too but in these aspects the remake is much better.

All in all i would advise to watch this movie as a new movie and don't compare it to the original in every minute and you'll enjoy it.

Good movie with bad ending
31 December 2022
The movie starts a little bit slow. Then the middle section is quite interesting and exciting. For me the characters are a little bit too much. They are more like caricatures than real people. Nonetheless the acting is fine, there is nothing wrong with the cast. The real downside of the movie is the ending. The whole misery that was built up, the whole movie was quite good until the finale. Without spoilers it's hard to explain my complaint but my problem is that the final conclusion makes no sense at all, it' absolutely unrealistic. Luckily that's not solution of the case it's just the ending. I know that sound cloudy but let's just say the murder misery is fine as a whole but the film does not end with solving the case. The aftermath of the case is where the downfall comes. All in all it's an okay movie that worth a watch for sure but the first movie was better.

Do yourself a favor and watch this series!
13 November 2022
This show is absolutely phenomenal. Evers aspect of the show is masterpiece. The way the story unfolds is genius. Jus like the whole vibe and atmosphere of the show. It's a real dark and sad story (just like any other serial killer stuff). The actors are great, the screenplay, the lights, the direction, etc is amazing. In my honest opinion this is one of the best TV show I've ever watched. This might sound a little bit too much but it's true. People were crazy about the first season of True Detective. Well Balck Bird is something like that. It's the same quality.

Ps.: Do yourself a favor and watch this series.

Cheap, dumb and lame
26 June 2022
The biggest problem is the plot itself. It's hard to express how bad the writting is. The whole plote is like it was written by a 10yrs old kid who just finished watching Star Wars 1-6. The plot is a mess. Some of the scenes are like bad jokes (eg. When the bandits kindap Leia). The cgi is like an "meh" at it's best. Vader sitting on his throne on Mustafar in ep. 6 is like a video game graphics from 2005.

I honestly tried to love this series as I eternally love Anakin and Obi-Wan but it's painfull to watch this series. Disney systematically ruins Star Wars.

Quite ok but it's far from good.

There are a few moments I have enjoyed but 90% of the movie is a big fat nothing. It's a very weak adventure movie parody. A typical 3.6, not great not terrible. Absolutely forgetable.

Great but a little too long
18 April 2022
I enjoyed the movie a lot. I love the visuality it's like halfway between the 1989's Batman and the Nolan triology. For me it's best of both worlds. The story and acting is superb as well. The only downside of the movie for me is the lenght of it. I think 2h50mins is just simply too much.

Instead of jumpscares there's atmosphere
22 September 2021
I really liked the atmospheric scenes and the music. The whole movie is like a tribute to Lovecraft and the 80's. But it's not a cheap nostalgia ride. It's far from it. All in all I really liked it.

A great action crime movie!
2 May 2020
I think this is a very well made movie. It's not just very well directed but it successfully creates the authentic Hungarian/eastern european '90s atmosphere. It's amazing how authentic this picture feels. The casting is also amazing. Bence Szalay in the lead role just feels so natural but all the others are doing great. The director Antal Nimród is simply the best Hungarian director these days.

As a side aspect of the movie (in the first quarter) it portrays the vicissitudes of being Hungarian in Transilvania especially during the Ceausescu era.

Such a great show
2 May 2020
I loved all the episodes of every season. It was so good to watch a series that isn't centered around violence/crime/murder. It's clever and well written. Simply just fun to watch. I love how it portrays the struggle of being different. Also it's so clever how it represents the difficulties of being a women. Doing this all in a down-to-Earth way without turning into some ultrafeminist agenda. I would highly recommended it to everyone.

Garbage
1 May 2020
Some try to defend and justify this movie by saying it's artistic and it's fresh, trying to bring something new. Bulls**t. This is pure garbage. A movie that is getting nowhere under 90 minutes, not anserwing any quesiton, not finishing any storyline is just a selfserving bad picture. It's not art when you throw random scenenes after each other.

Meh
28 April 2020
It was too long. I understand that this is a true story and it wanted to summerize the whole story but it becomes boring. The opening is like 20-30 minutes getting nowhere just showing girls stripping and dirty talking. The whole movie is just simply boring.

Interesting side of the movie that all the girls in the movie wanted to be strong and independent. They started to dance for this then later rob people. At the end they became just ciriminals. It is just weird for me that in the press they praise the movie as "a movie about women" and "it puts the spot light on women". I don't think being a greedy erotic dancer who robs people is what it means to be a women.

All in all it's an avarage movie. 6/10.

Cheap rip off
24 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It's a shameless and cheap rip off of the Stephen King movie 'The Running Man' from 1987. Other episodes are great but this one is just low budget clone of a great movie.

Boredom
11 April 2020
Starts off great but after 2-3 episodes turns into boredom. The show creators celarly wanted to deliver the next True Detective so they copied a lot, the tempo, colors, etc. The extra long cutscenes and the slow paced dialogues are just simply annoying and overused. They talk like they were sleeping all the time. It is simply unrealistic amd irritating.

The problem is that while True Detective (S01) managed to keep up the tense despite the slower than usual tempo, The Outsider struggles to keep up the interest. I would not finish the series if it had more than 10 episodes. It was more than enough.

V-Wars (2019)

Low budget
19 February 2020
It feels so cheap, all the sceens and sets are super lame and non realistic. It's like an oldschool trash "B" movie from the 80s or 90s. I's unbeliveable how they try to sell a ruined abandoned factory building as a scientific lab and military command centre at the same time. The most hilarious scene is the quarantine they lock up the vamps. It is a 5 feet tall wire fence. That's it. This is the super secured quarantine. How the hell would ever someone think that a simple wire fence is enough to hold back tens of super powerfull vampires. If that wouldn't be enough lame during a rescue mission they broke into this "well guarded" facility. So to make their way in one of the actors simply dislocate a part of the fence by his bare hands.

After I saw the trailer I was excited as I tought that it might gonna be a cool action-horror series but I was soo wrong. It is nothing but pure waste of time.

Wow
18 February 2020
It's everything but not a casual movie that's for sure. It's simply genius. Through a few characters we are introduced to the whole german generation of the Nazi era, the beliver, the victim, the soldier, the mother and children. Via them we can understand that a system that is rotten from it's core can destroy a whole nation a whole generation and casualties will be on all sides. Also it makes us wonder what could have we done as a 20 years old boy living in München in 1939. Probably we would have died on the battlefields regardles of our belief or disbelief in nazi ideology. Worst than that we might have been infested by their ideas. All in all a very clever movie that makes us think.

Boring and annoying
17 February 2020
It is incredibly slow. I mean the things are going on in the show but somehow it is just getting nowhere. The story, the characters, etc are medicore. You would except a lot better from George R.R. Martin. Maybe they should have made a movie from the novel instead of a series. It would have been a lot tighter.

I love this show. It's simply great, funny amd heart warming. Basically the characters are deailing with their own personal losses, tragedies and problems. You would think that's depressing to watch this but the series tells these stories an honest funny way. It's simply genius.

Garbage
27 January 2020
The first episode is quite OK despite the "anti-christian agenda". The second one is a little worse than the first episode but it's still watchable. The third one is just a piece of crap. The ending is freaking lame. Also this show glorifies the evil and makes God and church a nonsense crap

I seriously don't know why Netflix feels so important to push the Satanist agenda. Half of their shows make witchcraft, human sacrifice etc demonic stuff cool and christianity and God lame.

A lot better than you would think. A lot of movie that are half as good as this one get better scores and praises by critics. It's not a legendary movie but is definitely a good movie. The only thing I'd change is the ending. Somehow it just not felt right. That's why I gave 7/10.

Emotional roller coaster
14 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
At the beginning it was hard to take this children community seriously. But later on it grew on me. The game just sucked me in.

About the ending. At the barn seeing Clem's bitten, slowly dying... I cried my eyes off. Then the flashback sceen about her reunion with AJ and the fishing sceen... I was devasteted, simply heart broken. I felt like I lost a loved one, someone I really knew and loved. Then I heard her voice at the fire palce and I just started to cry again I was so glad that she's alive. This ending was so strong emotionaly.
