Camouflage (2001)
The worst movie I have without a doubt ever seen! An insult to Leslie Neilson's Filmography
What starts out as a promising film quickly turns into a winding nightmare of a motion picture. The main character Marty (Lochlyn Munro) is a failed playwright who is the main star in all of his productions. I couldn't have said it better than one of the characters in the movie; "It sucked!". Marty meets up with Detective Jack Potter (Leslie Neilson) and from there it goes downhill. It starts off slow, little or no comedy, and then the only "comedy" it does show happens to be a crazy woman, whom, in her rant, speaks of Elvis and Bigfoot and George Washington being a convicted felon (?). All in all, skip this movie. If you're a Leslie Neilson fan, its disappointing. Heck, if you're even a MOVIE fan, this is disappointing.
That's So Raven (2003)
Some crazy girl named Raven has the power to briefly see the future, and gets her and her friends in trouble.
This strangely repetitive series seems never ending, and pointless, as there are a million different situations in which they can put a girl with foresight into, each one as stupid as the next. This preppy teen bopping girl is more annoying than a toddler on Prozac. Between her high pitched squeals, her accentuated acting, and her pointless "jokes", this show quickly drains down to nothing more than a hopeless shell of a series. BONUS FUN: Listen to the opening song... It basically describes the rest of the season, so you no longer have to watch it! If you're a hyper, sugar high teenager, or a child, this show is perfect for you! If you're a nauseated adult who can spot repetitiveness, stay away!!!
In the only fairness I will give to the show, it does have its moments.
Eragon (2006)
A young farm boy named Eragon, who is used to being poor, finds a blue stone he believes to be nothing more. But then the "stone" hatches and is learned to be a dragon egg!
This movie, quite frankly, sucked. It was choppy, cut out several parts of the book and at least a character or two. For instance, what took two years in the book, took more like a minute in the movie, and several locations were cut out, as well as half the story line. All in all, the movie seemed to jump around, and if you hadn't read the book, you still would have been disappointed, coming out of the theater with questions, instead of an enjoyable movie experience. I recommend seeing this at Chunkies, so you can ignore the bad plot, and focus on some delicious potato skins (an action which I had today!).
On the other hand...
The movie has its amazing action parts in it. The graphics are incredible, and the characters, although dry, are kind of layered, and expressive. I can't complain about the acting either.
The book is a must read, for any fan of LOTR or HP. It's sad to see that such an amazing book is chopped up on the screen...
The Departed (2006)
Jack Nickelson plays a Irish underground crime lord in Boston, who has set up his own connections in the Police Force (Matt Daemon), but the police want to spy on him.
This movie was actually not that bad. It has its pros and cons. The movie had great camera people, which included a great plot, and amazing acting. All of that made up for the "cheesy" film, and language Sailors would jump to imitate. If you choose to see this movie, be prepared for literally close to a hundred F bombs, and close to 10 very bloody headshots. In fact, just be prepared for buckets of blood throughout the film.
It also may help to bring a notebook, to avoid from losing the plot. The movie jumps constantly from each side, and includes random frames of murder, which have voices to remotely explain whats going on. The characters often show up later, so remember the faces.
