Unforgotten: Episode #5.6 (2023)
White rich men are evil!
Seasons 1-4 were pretty solid. Some great performances from all the cast, plot twists and reveals that you don't see coming. As many reviewers have already mentioned, this season became political for no apparent reason with the writers seemingly more focused on shoving their political agenda down the viewers throats. Totally unnecessary. Unless I missed it I don't recall any political bias in the seasons before this one. Why risk alienating half your audience. Can't we just enjoy some politically impartial escapism... apparently not.
Let's see what season 6 is like but I suspect the bad guy will be a super far right brexiteer climate denier or some such.
Shame.
Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (2024)
Looks great but that's about it
Rebel Moon part II... I watched it so you don't have to.
You're welcome!
A few bits I took away from it in no particular order.
Game of Thrones original Daario Naharris' hair cut is so bad it's distracting.
Space wheat is really hard to grow, apparently.
Zach Snyder loves Slo-Mo. Seriously during the second scene of slow motion scythe harvesting, I went onto IMDb where the first review I read was on about how there are so many slo-mo scenes in the film!
I realised after the first hour that I didn't really know who half of the characters were or what the plot was about.
Worse still, I realised that not knowing didn't bother me a single bit.
I reckon AI wrote a chunk of this, if not all and if so SkyNet is a long time off.
I will end on this note. If RM II was made as some kind of sci-fi parody, I think it'd be one of the funniest films ever.
Unbelievable!!!!! (2020)
Illogical
Absolutely shocking. I can only assume that this was a way of the actors stopping other people asking them to cameo in their films.
Abominable (2020)
Abominable by name and by nature.
Holy (insert swear word). I'm watching a film that I can only assume was off the back of a bet, the loser having to make it.
Abominable is both the film title and my description of it.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Ignore the low ratings
I'm only writing this review as I've just got back from the cinema and am, quite frankly, outraged by the low scores / bad reviews. This is a solid terminator film. Read the 7 stars and above and if you're a fan of 1&2, I assure you that you'll like this one too.
The reviewer who gave it 4 stars as it was a "dibacle", if you can't master spellcheck I'm not surprised the plot outstripped you.
