Blue Eye Samurai (2023)
The Interconnectedness of Humanity and the Myth of Revenge
In a world marked by diverse cultures, beliefs, and histories, the concept of revenge has long been embedded in human societies as a means of seeking justice or retribution. However, an alternative perspective challenges this age-old notion, asserting that revenge is but a myth in the grand tapestry of our shared humanity. Rooted in the belief that we are all descendants of a common forebearer, Noah, this viewpoint posits that taking a life is akin to harming a sibling-a stark departure from the prevailing ideologies that often fuel conflicts.
This article delves into the idea that revenge is a falsehood, a narrative perpetuated by what some refer to as "Satan's lie" with the potential to dismantle the very fabric of our interconnected existence.
The Common Ancestry:
Central to this perspective is the notion of a shared ancestry traced back to Noah, the second father of humanity in certain religious traditions. According to this belief, the progeny of Noah comprises the entirety of the human race, making each individual a brother or sister to one another.
This familial connection challenges the validity of revenge, suggesting that harming another is tantamount to inflicting pain upon one's own kin.
Rejecting the Myth of Revenge:
Advocates for the rejection of revenge as a viable concept argue that it is a deceptive force, perpetuated by what is described as "Satan's lie." In this context, revenge is portrayed as a destructive force, a falsehood that seeks to pit siblings against each other, fostering discord and violence.
The belief in our shared heritage aims to dismantle this lie and encourage a more profound understanding of our interconnectedness, urging humanity to transcend the cycle of vengeance.
Promoting Unity and Non-Violence:
By emphasizing the shared brotherhood and sisterhood stemming from a common ancestor, proponents of this perspective advocate for unity, empathy, and non-violence. Rather than seeking retribution, the focus is shifted towards fostering understanding and dialogue.
The interconnectedness of humanity becomes a catalyst for peace, as individuals are urged to recognize the inherent bond that unites them, transcending cultural, religious, and ethnic differences.
Conclusion:
The idea that revenge is a myth, born out of shared ancestry, challenges traditional notions of justice and retaliation. By embracing the belief in a common origin, individuals are encouraged to view each other not as adversaries, but as brothers and sisters in the journey of life.
Whether one subscribes to this perspective as a spiritual truth or a metaphorical lens for promoting peace, it serves as a powerful reminder of our shared humanity and the potential for collective understanding in a world often marked by conflict and discord.
La sociedad de la nieve (2023)
Humans need not Eat All the Time
Watching "Society of the Snow" (La Sociedad de la Nieve), I found it challenging and perplexing, especially given my personal experience as a dedicated faster, having successfully abstained from food for 40 days and less on many occasions during my presence on earth.
The movie's depiction of survivors resorting to cannibalism contradicts the evolving truth we're discovering about human endurance and the fact that constant eating is not an absolute biological requirement.
As someone who has pushed the limits of fasting myself, enduring for extended periods without succumbing to the need for daily sustenance, the plot's reliance on cannibalism for survival seems implausible. The narrative choice starkly contrasts with the contemporary revelations about our ability to thrive without constant food intake.
In my view, the movie misses an opportunity to explore the incredible resilience of the human body and the potential for survival without resorting to extreme measures. The storyline appears out of sync with the evolving understanding of fasting and may benefit from a more nuanced approach that aligns with the latest scientific insights on human endurance.
The Tourist (2022)
Unrealistic depiction of amnesia
The Tourist series depiction of an amnesia patient raises considerable skepticism, especially given my personal experience as a survivor of a severe motor accident and subsequent years of brain fog/ amnesia.
The many glaring plot holes, coupled with the protagonist effortlessly wielding an extensive vocabulary and seamlessly using expletives, add to the implausibility.
A more grounded exploration of amnesiac experiences through thorough research could have elevated the narrative, as the current writing appears lazy and squanders the potential for a gripping storyline.
With all that, the 1st season still managed to entertain, as long as you can accept the flaws that come with it.
Pantheon (2022)
I choose Immortality in Heaven
Enjoyed how Pantheon makes us think of living forever in the existing plane.
Transhumanism can be considered an improvement on
the limitations of the natural human body and make a new "heaven" in this temporal world of flaws available for one's choosing.
But at what price? Which master will this pandering put us towards then?
Fortunately, we are given the Godly power of Choice and decide on the Light for Darkness.
Obviously, our natural subconsciousness would reveal the answer in plain sight but many would fall short of this as we can only see when we are not clouded with the blindsight of this world.
Yellowjackets (2021)
Seriously ? So much Food in the Wilderness. Why resort to Cannibalism ?
Pure BS. Seemed like brain cells were damaged in the process of creating the script. Weren't there any thoughts that there are an abundance of food resources in the wilderness?
Another survivalist movie that is pure nonsense for the generation that has no idea how to even change a light bulb in their home.
With current misinformation agendas, I'm not surprised by today's narratives and programming. Whatever happened to our human spirit, even today's films are echoing its slow demise of the initiative to survive in dire situations.
No wonder our new generation is doomed to fail even without a plane crash to motivate them.
Ming yue ji shi you (2017)
History in fantasy trappings
I'm a fan of Ann Hui Movies, especially so when she depict history in a fantasied setting, always impossible scenarios that her protagonist survives to fight another day.
Thoroughly enjoyed all the staged and properly framed parts that enhanced the whole. Never once is one ever disappointed and always being drawn into her takes as they are well done and truly unbelievable which is why they are so captivating even in dull moments.
Looking forward to another fairy tale from the maestro of surreal drama. Bravo !
Horizon Line (2020)
A Comedy !
Why all the hate Folks? This is Comedy :)
I'm sure most of us laughed till we fell off the chair.
Also I felt that Sara would have done a better job at CPR on Freddy, Jackson did a bad attempt at an unbelievable procedure, as Freddy would still be alive and resume their journey to be able to make it to the wedding.
But heck where would the fun and laughter continues if we didn't have all the impossibles happening further in as the Plot thins :P
