Overlord (2018)

Gut-wrenching portrait of War and Violence
16 November 2018
"Overlord" is a disturbing experience that will make you twist and turn during the movie and possibly haunt you in your dreams.

It's a great mix between Reality & Fantasy using a smooth and smart plot that explores different genres without losing focus or distracting the audiance.

Even though Acting was magnificent and you could emotionally connect with characters, but the Ending could've been much better and some scenes could've been scarier.

The Wizarding World in All it's Glory
14 November 2018
Once again J.K Rowling takes us on a magical ride to the Wizarding World, but this time it's better, darker and will keep you at the edge of your seat throughout the whole movie.

Jude law casting as Dumbledore was a pleasant surprise, and im glad they found a suitable role for the always "over-the-top" johnny depp.

That being said, Izra Miller and Zoe Kravitz were the highlight of the movie.

CGI & FX were on point, Background music/score was BRILLIANT.

The movie is much better than the first part That's for sure.

High fashion Dark Comedy with a cute attempt for a plot twist
23 September 2018
"A Simple Favor" left me with so many mixed emotions. The hilarious Anna kendrick delivered some killer jokes and kept the comedy element of the movie consistant throughout its events. While Black lively made a fashion statement and really tried to get out of her skin for her role in the movie.

Im glad that the industry is finally giving a chance for those two incredibly talented actresses, but im wondering when will we see more from Anna kendrick than this quirky funny lady and from Blake lively as a mature version of her gossip girl character ?

Smallfoot (2018)

Fun movie for the Families, but is it memorable?
23 September 2018
Behind every animation movie there's always a great moral, "Smallfoot" film makers completely failed to deliver the message they indended to the kids in a simple, easily understood way. That doesn't mean that kids won't enjoy it, as it offers some good laughs here and there, cute characters along with the animation, colors and effects which were great as well.

the songs were the highlight for me and i loved how they played with music genres instead of giving the same pop songs that you usually find in animation movies. I highly recommend this movie for the families, but i doubt the impact it's going to make with so many animation movies being released recently.

Not Bad...Not Bad At All !
17 August 2018
I started watching this movie with very low expectations and im glad i continued watching it. To my surprise it was not bad at all. Even though the story line was a little bit weak, but it kept me entertained throughout the movie and the acting was good enough for such a light, teenage Romcom.

The story had a great message which is how we should stop being afraid of living our lives and worrying too much that it won't meet our expectations and fantasies.

That being said the ending was really predictable, bad and poorly written. it just felt like the writers got lazy at the end. So much potentials lost to be honest.

I would recommend watching this movie for killing off some time, you won't regret it as long as you don't keep your hopes up.

And the Award for Predictable Movie of 2018 goes to...
14 August 2018
I have literally predicted almost every scene before it happened (except some which is why i didn't give the movie a Zero)

CGI was a hit or a miss, the attack scenes were cool, but the underwater scenes and the public beach one which looked like a bunch of fake donuts that have been copy pasted all over the beach were terrible to say the least.

Acting wise...I mean you're going to watch a movie for Jason Statham what did you expect? The supporting actors were good though and each character added something to the movie.

At the end, i didn't hate The Meg, i actually enjoyed it...just don't get your hopes up before watching it, it's another Shark movie.

Entertaining YES, Predictable YESSS
14 August 2018
If you're looking for a very predictable Romcom with lots and lots of cliches, but also full of extravagant parties, great looking actors and some cute decent acting, then "Crazy Rich Asians" is the Right movie for you. did the movie live up to the hype and expectations that surrounded it? Maybe Not...but that doesn't make it less of an entertaining movie that had a lot of heart-warming moments and some cute funny ones as well.

Some of the actors/actresses i'd like to highlight on are:

-Michelle Yeoh (Eleanor) played a great role as a mother in law who can be very tough but it's understandable as she loves and cares for his son.

-Ken Jeong "famous for his role in Hangover", his character could definitely be funnier but unfortunately he was not and his jokes felt flat. -Awkwafina (Goh Peik Lin) was the funny character that the movie could really utilize in a smart way, she did a great job in keeping the movie light and changing the mood every now and then.

There were also some side-stories that felt like fillers and no one would notice if they were removed altogether "like the main actor's sister story".

Overall, i would recommend this movie to kill some time, have a good laugh and remember how poor we all are.
