The Rig (2010)
An entire movie worse than the acting attempts in a bad porn
You know the boring parts of a porn that you just fast forward through until the "actors" are done talking? Well that is this entire movie! I'm talking about bad lighting, awful dialog, terrible editing (scenes are drawn out way too long, with awkward moments of nothing going on), and unforgivable monster attacks that show too little of a monster that looks like it was made in a middle school art class. I can't believe the cast and crew were even able to see this thing through to completion. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 is for the brave men and women who selfishly destroyed their reputations for the sake of not giving up on something you started. One star movies are filmed with a cell phone in a junk yard, at least they got someone to rent them an oil rig.
Survival of the Dead (2009)
Maybe someday George A. Romero will bring himself and his movies back from the dead, as for this one I think he shot himself in the head.
I'm not a Zombie geek by any means but I do enjoy a well made Zombie flick none the less. Most of this movie was poorly acted and terribly edited. The dialog was the only decent bit that might have saved it if the aforementioned editing hadn't killed the timing of the dialog. I get that this is low budget B-movie zombie action but so was "Død Snø". The only difference is that the latter pulled it off. I also understand that the director is a bit of a dying legend in the zombie arts so perhaps another viewing of his earlier work will redeem him for this atrocity. Maybe someday George A. Romero can create an appropriate analogy by bringing himself and his movies back from the dead. Lets just hope that by making this movie he didn't shoot himself in the head.
