Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Somewhat wasted potential...
Now it was a different, which I can appreciate, but it missed the mark for me. I have never seen anything by the Director so maybe I just wasn't ready for this and misunderstood the direction they took but to my credit the trailers I saw showed a very different movie...there were some good ideas and fun moments but overall I was not feeling it. Bad pacing, horrible character/motive development (yes, I've seen WandaVision, which I loved, and I still think it was not good), so-so writing, cheesy moments that did not feel right and a lot of jokes that fell flat... As one person said in their review... in another universe there is a better version of this movie. Which is too bad, I was looking forward to this one.
Paradise Hills (2019)
I don't know how this gets good reviews
I don't know how this gets good reviews. It is all over the place. The costume and set design is absolutely gorgeous but that is it. They had a good cast but they were totally wasted with this pointless storyline. And what the heck was Milla Jovovich's character about? It does not fit into this type of store at all. I feel like I must have watched some version of it that had a lot of missing scenes or something because I cannot understand how this gets good reviews...baffled.
The Minimalists: Less Is Now (2021)
Repeat of previous documentary
I was really looking forward to this movie and was a bit let down. I think the director is talented and makes great content but this movie was just a repeat of the previous documentary. I think if it had taken a different angle such as focusing more on the other people they interviewed (besides "the minimalist") who have gone through minimalism it would have been more interesting. Also the monologue style felt awkward and a little disingenuous. That being said we have started decluttering again since watching it so I guess it did its job.
The Man Who Invented Christmas (2017)
Fantastic
Possibly the best Christmas movie of the 20th century.
Love, Guaranteed (2020)
Quite cute
Rom-coms these days, especially "TV" produced ones, are usually pretty dang disappointing. This one is actually quite cute with a few flaws sure but overall me, and even my fiance, really enjoyed it. Rachel Leigh cook is great.
The Order (2019)
Not great
I felt compelled to write a review only because I do not understand the high ratings for the show. So many reasons that it is not that good.
Christmas Wedding Planner (2017)
I'm not sure how movies like this get made
I don't necessarily regret watching it... but it has to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The female actresses weren't that bad I think they were just subjected to poor directing and script... I liked the lead character even with the awkward scenes and I'm curious to see her in other films...not sure I can say the same about the male actors. And since when is a "clumsy" bridesmaid a thing? I'm not sure I even have words.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)
Disappointed
Very confusing with unnecessary plot twists. What were they thinking? I want to rate a 5 but somehow can't bring myself to do it. I really hope the next 1 is 100% better.

A Simple Favor (2018)
Fun but...
A lot of the details...like to triplet... unnecessary. Maybe that is the books fault but I'd hope in the book it was at least developed enough to make its presence make sense. Also...the husbands reaction when he sees Blake Livleys character is alive...odd. A lot of odd things. Just wanted it to be a little better. Very fun though and I loved the music.
